Burnout Paradise Remastered Official Reveal Trailer

Lol, £34.99? Get fucked.
It might be worthwhile for PS4/Xbone but it looks exactly the same as the PC version. Literally the only reason to buy this would be for the one DLC map that the PC never got, but who the fucks gonna pay $50 for that?
I was so hyped to hear they were remastering this game because I really loved it but I was expecting a graphical overhaul. Imagine Paradise City with modern graphics like the new Need for Speed?

What a fucking missed opportunity.

They would have to actually put in effort for that.
I would've preferred a burnout 3 remaster. I never liked paradise that much, I wish I could've liked it more
They would have to actually put in effort for that.
I know. They could at least slightly improve the graphics when "remastering" a ten year old title

I'd buy two copies if a new burnout looked like this. Even if it went back to the track-based campaign mode(Which would make this fidelity far easier to accomplish). As a matter of fact, I think I preferred the track-based mode from 2 over all others. 'Open world' was great, but Point of Impact is def my favorite. Music, tracks, crash mode.. It was the perfect package.
This is well deserved. While it sold "under expectations" at launch it's gained a lot of notoriety since then.
Now it's time to remaster 3 and Revenge.
If they relicense the entire original soundtrack in a remaster of burnout 3 I will buy that shit day one.
was paradise the one that had the crashing minigame where you scored points based on what you hit or was that one of the earlier games?
was paradise the one that had the crashing minigame where you scored points based on what you hit or was that one of the earlier games?
Earlier games had a full Crash mode with different maps set up for it - Burnout 3's Crash mode had 100 levels. In Paradise it's a free roam mini-game, you press a button to start it and just crash into whatever's nearby. It had nothing on the original mode, really.

Burnout 2 had the best version of this minigame, but a variation of it was in all of them.
it looks the same
"Remastered". That means it works on better hardware with less restrictions.

Don't forget revenge, which had that atrocious minigolf-esque launch mode

Not gonna lie though I'm pretty fucking hype for this game.
I am pretty sure that Big Surf Island was fan-ported to the PC version as well, so I don't think it's really worth the price tag.
Unless you care about the piracy thing.
Omg, the cop cars. I wanted them as a kid, but they were no longer available. Too bad I'm older and dead inside now.
And I'll finally get across the stupid bridge to big surf island.

It's a remaster, not a new game
None of that is worth $52.
And most of it is relatively straightforward on hardware that's nearly 8x more powerful than 13 year old hardware.
I'm not saying it's worth full retail. The game is still pretty old and that. Just that they do still have to put some work in to get it running as they want for the remaster. It's nothing incredible, but it also requires some reworking of the game assets at the very least if they want to support 4k.
I mean, I'll probably get it because I never got to play it when the playercounts were high, so I ha e a lot of stuff that I could just never do online. And that's saying something considering I dumped at least 200 or so hours into the game (unlocked everything TWICE)
It's a remaster, not a new game
When did "remastered" stop meaning remastered and start meaning "repackaged for new consoles with all DLC included", and why are people okay with that?
Shadow of the Colossus literally just rereleased on PS4 as a complete graphical overhaul and yet this manages to also be classified as a remaster?
Yeah it was "remastered" on the PS3 but at least that came with Ico & as far as I can tell still wasn't $50.
When did "remastered" stop meaning remastered and start meaning "repackaged for new consoles with all DLC included", and why are people okay with that?
Because that's what it is. Remastered always means that it's done to run on better hardware with minor technical improvements. It's not a remake.

Shadow of the Colossus is a remake. And it wasn't re-released. It would be re-released if it was the exact same as the PS2 version.
incredibly disappointing. I really wish it was 3 instead, since that was objectively the best burnout game in the entire series.
It's a remaster, not a new game
Well, then they probably shouldn't be selling it for $40.
This is EA, of course it's $40.

It's worse than that, it turns your car into a stupid fucking bouncy ball. It's boring and nothing like the original crash mode. Easily the worst part of Paradise.
I don't get it, it looks exactly the same except the cars are shinier
Absolutely not a remaster, I can still count polygons on parts of the cars :v:
It's a port of a decade-old title with higher resolution options
I don't get it, it looks exactly the same except the cars are shinier
seems to be pretty much just that. Sharper textures in places, more particles, higher saturation
I'm going to get it because B:P is my favorite open world racer of all time, and I've always wanted to play the PC version with BSI. I 100%'d the PS3 version, time to do it again on a proper system.
This is fucking sick Paradise is like my fav arcade racer ever
Can't wait to bask in the middle school tier soundtrack once again
Things I'm hyped about:
- Big Surf Island on PC
- All the DLC included instead of the bullshit
- The modding potential of a reinvigorated Burnout Paradise community
Things I hope happen but I'm pessimistic as fuck:
- Fix the fact that Paradise on PC automatically turns your mic on in freeburn without any sort of indication or warning and needs to be turned off deep in the options menus. I once shared five minutes of my half of a Skype call with total fucking randoms in a freeburn session without even knowing it. :v:
- Origin not required (eat shit I'm not installing it on my PC) for the Steam version, even if there's other obnoxious DRM
I'm not touching it if it's an Origin-only game. I've already bought it twice, I'm not installing something I don't want just for the privilege of buying and playing Paradise a third time.

I thought it was fun, but it was not a replacement for the original crash scenario modes. It became about planning when to Crash and finding the sources of traffic, because you could bounce forever as long as you didn't run out of things to hit.
Burnout 3 Takedown's crash mode, though, that's the good shit right there.
