If only we could get NfS Underground 2 or original Most Wanted remaster.
But EA is too busy at keeping NfS dead.
Absolutely not a remaster, I can still count polygons on parts of the cars :v:
It's a port of a decade-old title with higher resolution options
That's what a remaster is and always has been.
god please put it on switch
Well, then they probably shouldn't be selling it for $40.
Never argued that, I agree. $20-30 is more than enough for a game like this.
PC users getting treated as second-class and a fucking $48 price tag?

There's no way this is the price their market research suggested, right? That's $10 from a new release for a 10 year old game that's been as low as $5 on PC and literally one dollar on the Origin Humble Bundle a while back, including everything but Cops and Robbers and Big Surf Island.
But it is a remaster, it's just not as incredible as some others. Textures and effects are notably higher here than on the 360/PS3 and it's running at a higher resolution. $39.99 is way too much for this at launch but it's more than a GOTY.
It looks exactly the same as the PC version does when it's maxed out, though. So as far as the PC version goes it's essentially just a patch they want money for

I dunno, I think for the amount of content the game + DLC is, the price tag is well worth it.

For NFS:U2 there are some decent widescreen fix and graphics mods for some textures but I agree, it's not the same :frown:
This would be a perfect birthday gift for myself but that kind of tag is steep. That sucks too since this game was my childhood.
The homepage here only mentions that there is 4 player online and offline multiplayer

OMG YES

it'd be an absolute crime to change it

i love B:P (in fact its probably my favorite racing game) but i cant say i can justify paying $48 for a game i already own just to get 2-3 DLC packs that were pointlessly console exclusive.

Paradise's best feature was infact being able to rule out avril lavigne off the soundtrack completely.

Best song for max-throttle highway loop burning, especially with the turbo dragster whose boost can't be turned off but will infinitely chain. I listened to it for a few hours once trying to get a 20x boost chain on the ring highway.
I always turned off all the music but the Burnout 1, 2 and (originally cut) 3 OST.

As someone who's played Burnout Paradise recently I don't see how this is worth it in any way. It doesn't even play that well, there are older games that feel less outdated (then again I'm very picky about driving physics). The graphics update and the nostalgia factor are the only things it has going for it

I found the driving physics of Paradise pretty enjoyable honestly, and I've replayed it barely a couple months ago
not sure what's the point of it on console, PC at least has Cops & robbers and Big Surf Island - just not sure how much it'll be worth it at the price point they have in mind

I can see why people like it, BP makes it really easy to flick your car around like its a Hot Wheels toy, and it always feels quick, agile, and planted to the ground, which works well for Burnout gameplay. It's just not for me, I'm a fan of "weightier", less forgiving physics
The free roam, though, I can't understand. After you've put some hours into the game, driving through the same damn streets over and over again to find events gets really grating. Is there an option to pick races from the map that I totally missed even after all that playtime? I'd be glad if it turned out I was just stupid, because the open world is way too gimmicky, and by far the worst thing about BP
I just wish they'd release another one. What happened to racing games lately? Sure there's Forza, Dirt and Gran Turismo, but why does it feel like we're going through a drought of more casual and fun driving? BP is now 10 years old. The last Driver game was a masterpiece, but it came out in 2011. Juiced is dead, Midnight Club is dead, and NFS might as well be dead. All we have nowadays is Rocket League, and a bunch of half-finished early access titles made on a shoestring budget

Personally I enjoy BP for all the things you just mentioned. It's a nice game for zoning out and going fast. Meanwhile newer racing games where cars steer like a turbo charged tank has really killed my interest in racing games. I guess I haven't looked enough if you say there's even more arcadey racers nowadays.
I admit I haven't played earlier Burnouts, but my impression is thay they were never meant to appeal to the more simulation focused crowd and I don't think you can dismiss BP for that and say it has nothing going for it.

But I said none of that

Then I'm not sure what you're getting at. I think BP holds up very well and doesn't feel outdated, the car handling has always been great. When you say you're into weightier physics, I assumed you were hinting towards more realistic car controls.

I guess outdated was the wrong word to use, it just feels stilted in a way that reminds me of older titles. I do want more casual and arcadey racers though, that's exactly what I was going on about in the other post
If they don't bring back DJ Atomika this game is dead to me
[sp]SSX3 remaster next[/sp]
It'd subjective. Either you like realism and/or you like arcade. I'm old-school ps2 so I love games with a more arcade like feel to them. But burnout is definitely a more arcade racer
Either you like realism or you like arcade.
This is not true at all and leads to a ton of elitism and virtriol.

I like both, but the decline of the arcade racing game in the last decade disappoints me. I can't really like both when one style of racing games is nearly dead
Subjectively i didn't think anything about the burnout series benefited from the open world except for maybe hanging out with other players in the lobby. Paradise really never clicked for me i just wish i could do everything from a menu.

Seems I forgot an and. Either way I don't know how that would lead to elitism as one isn't better than the other but you can still prefer one to the other
