Subjectively i didn't think anything about the burnout series benefited from the open world except for maybe hanging out with other players in the lobby. Paradise really never clicked for me i just wish i could do everything from a menu.
The lack of designed tracks and events did take something away from the game I think. But at the same time the ability to pick your route and to take detours to shake off opponents in Marked Man really changed the game for the better. It was a less focused design, for sure. All in all I think it was a risk worth taking at the very least.
I like Paradise the best out of all the Burnouts, mostly as someone who doesn't care for crash mode in any of them. The driving felt pleasant and the sense of speed is great most importantly, but the drift system was perfect for me.
HOLY FUCK ALL THE DLC WILL BE ON PC YES YES YES

What bothered me most about Paradise is the fact there are only eight finish lines. This made races feel too similar for me. But I might buy it, if it isn't a complete technical disaster like other remasters were at launch. Mainly for the DLC.

Because this meant that you would also see a lot of the same things in each race. I was able to look past this but it definitely affected how long I would play the game for.

Mainly for the DLC.
this was one hell of an issue. while most of the game sells on the premise of "make your own way" it also forced you to keep one eye on the track, one on the traffic, one on the rivals and one on the minimap. I understand that fixed goals had to be this way so you wouldn't need to stop midway to ask for directions, but at the same time made every single race run in the same way, eventually making the last strech of anything just a flat drag race.
What about us who've bought it already on steam? Can I just buy the dlc?
