The only thing that the Raimi spiderman needed was less crying/whining and it pretty much would've been perfect.

Haha fuck no. Well much better than the third one, the third one fucking sucked. What I loved about spider-man 1 and 2 was that it had that cheesy old school comic vibe to it, and it didn't take itself so damn seriously all the time. The third one however was ass, I don't even want to acknowledge that one was made.

Guess fucking what they're gonna do a reboot for every villain, no shit. I also hate the 3D title which implies that we're going to see a lot of "stuff flying towards your face" scenes. Not-nerdy protagonist, okay then whatever peter parker was kind of hot in the comics so that doesn't bother me too much. Also mechanical web-shooters and the classical spider-man humor (as is the car). Tbh it seems pretty much watchable. And as stated above the thinner look really is better than the old bulky spider-man from the older trilogy.

God damnit, all I want is a movie with Venom where he isn't portrayed as a scrawny, bitchy coward who gets his ass whooped in the last 10 minutes of the movie. I am glad they are trying to keep it fresh but I want to see Spiderman battle what I always saw as the most bad ass villian of my childhood.
This looks great other than the fact that the Lizard is lacking a substantial amount of snout.

I really don't like the Lizard in this, I really wish they were able to have kept Dylan Baker as Curt Conners, he seemed way more fitting as the Lizard, since the Lizard was never TRULY a bad guy. He was only a monster when he was the Lizard, the new Dr. Connor just reeks maniacal villain.
I like the costume though, it reminds me of the Ben Reily Spider-man outfit, which is cool. I wish the actor had the same geekyness that Tobey had. It fit way more with the character, but I think if he's more clever mouthed in this one as Spidey it will make up for it.
I also like the use of Gwen Stacy, since she was Mary Jane before Mary Jane. I wonder if they're going to kill her off in the next movie, with the Green Goblin as the villain like in the comics?

I remember reading somewhere that Topher Grace would have made a good Peter Parker. At the time the first Spider-Man movie came out, he was getting to be well-known for being a wisecracking nerd on That 70's Show, which could actually make a solid transition to a similar character in Spider-Man. I always liked the self generated organic webbing rather than the web spinners. It made him less reliant on a device that could be hampered in combat or something. I wouldn't be surprised if they used that disadvantage in a fight-scene or something.

the second one is the best. Doc Octopus was the fucking coolest thing in the second movie. They did a great job with making him not a goofy weirdo.
