Neil DeGrasse Tyson cameo was neat.
maybe it was because i saw the star wars trailer today but that felt underwhelming
For me it looks like they put Batman against Superman just for the sake of putting them against each other I don't see how this is gonna work
I think they established a good drive. Obviously superman has gone rogue/power-hungry, batman is unwilling to come out of retirement or something and needs to stop him. It's weak but it's a fucking super hero movie what more do you need?
Just the concept of batman being able to fight superman at all sounds so silly.
it's why he creates a mech-suit and carries kryptonite.
Why are all dc movies so dark and depressing
Ben Afflec actually looks badass with the mask
i like the mechsuit voice
Also that last line is so corny. "Do you bleed?? ...you will!!!!"
Oh I thought he said "Do you plead?" Like as in plead guilty.

If anything it's people reacting to Superman destroying the entire city of Metropolis to get to one guy in an unnecessary orgy of special effects and white noise and then killing that guy in cold blood and then destroying US military property that was trying to spy on him. Soooo, yeah. I'd be pissed if this wasn't the reaction he was getting. Man of Steel made him anything but a superhero.
I thought it looked good. If you're wondering why superman might fight batman at all, watch/read The Dark Knight Rises Part 2. Only comic->movie i've ever watched but its great.
It's kinda nuts, there's parts where it looks like people are worshipping super man as some sort of god.
Well if superman was real, I'm sure people would.
Why would Superman go rogue/power-hungry?
Making the Paladin fall from seeing too much shit/ingratitude/some misunderstanding that's only cleared up after the action so the setting can conveniently reset is a pretty commonly used character arc, especially when your story wants to pit two heroic figures against each other and you need a simple black-and-white setup to focus on the action, rather than spend time building up some complex and balanced grey-and-gray moral quandary. Depends on how important character consistency is to the writers of course, but this seems like the kinda flick where "Superman VS Batman" is the selling premise the rest of the universe has to be bent around, not where it seems natural for the two characters to see each other on opposite sides of a larger conflict.
Well if superman was real, I'm sure people would.
Or try to nuke him.
Looks like they're going towards the Unjustice/Brave new metropolis superman. Perhaps killing zod pushed him over the edge and made him more of a control freak.

Soooo, yeah. I'd be pissed if this wasn't the reaction he was getting. Man of Steel made him anything but a superhero.
Have you read the Injustice comics? You should, they're fucking great. Basically The Joker poisons Superman in some way that inhibits his mind, making him think he is pummeling Lex Luthor to death when in actual reality he is beating Lois Lane to death, who's pregnant with his unborn child. The great thing is, The Joker has programmed a nuclear bomb to Lois' heart beat and when she dies, the nuke detonates and destroys Metropolis entirely. Superman blames himself and therefore to create true order in a world that is entirely fucked, he says "fuck it" and controls everybody through fear, killing off some members of the Justice League (Green Arrow being one) and turning the rest over to his side, through fear of death -creating his own new world order. It's just fucking great. That's one reason why Superman would go rogue/power-hungry anyway, and it worked brilliantly. There's no reason why it wouldn't be possible again. Oh and for added awesome, in these comics the Batman is the only one who doesn't surrender. Fuck yeah!
why is this so goddamn gritty? why can't they just accept that it's based on comicbook superheroes like marvel does?
Way too gritty. Looks like a horror movie than super hero movie.
why is this so goddamn gritty? why can't they just accept that it's based on comicbook superheroes like marvel does?
Just because "comicbook superheroes" doesn't mean it all has to be "lol superman commin to save the day is it a bird is it a plane xD" It's probably gritty because of the subject matter? It sucks for EVERYBODY involved. Not all DC Comics Films are all gritty, Superman Returns, pre-nolan Batman etc.
so a couple of things i can say just by looking at the trailer. I dont know if its going to be good or not but definetly gonna be great fun. And praize the nolan movies everything you want, truth is i never felt i was looking at batman in those movies, but here i can picture him perfectly, the voice is way better and i like the overall plot they are showing.
why is this so goddamn gritty? why can't they just accept that it's based on comicbook superheroes like marvel does?
Because this is Zack Snyder we're talking about
Well if superman was real, I'm sure people would.
but in man of steel he's like a weird alien who always heralds destruction and death on a massive scale. he might not intentionally have killed the hundreds of thousands of people involved or leveled any cities and cost the government several hundred billion dollars repairing them, but when everyone's sitting around at their family members' wakes and waiting for the recession to subside so they don't have to eat out of the trash anymore, they're all gonna be thinking "fucking Superman." the setting is really the problem there because it's portrayed as dark enough that that's what realistically should happen instead of a hackneyed messiah thing, because the deaths are so gritty and violent and it's like 9/11 times a million every time he fights a guy on his power level. but they really wanted to have their cake and eat it too by having superman still be a hero guy, in spite of the setting being violent enough that he could never possibly function as a superhero without indirectly slaughtering millions and ruining whole countries with property damage. it's like they went for a deconstruction of the superman concept, missed, and then did it accidentally in the most horrific way possible.

I'm looking forward to this. Man of Steel was better than any of the Marvel movies.
