evalion had some pretty good like to dislike ratios on her videos I guess they resonated well with the masses.
Using likes to dislikes as a ratio of how well people agree with a political opinion is like saying Justin Beiber is an amazing artist because he's sold millions of records.
No, and no.
I think it's interesting how both sides of the political spectrum are composed entirely of extremists.
I suspect that S.Arabia funds the Dems and Israel funds the GOP.
This election has proven to me that in the ashes of its wake has been birthed the concept of an extremist centrist.
The so-called 'extremely condescending'.
And so your response to my condescension is to act just as condescending? Every political thread is just the same thing over and over. The Trump supporters deflect every stupid thing he's ever said or done. The Anti-Trump people think everything he says or does is stupid or evil. There is no middle ground and there's no valuable discussion.
Yes, that is my response.
I wasn't trying to inject valuable discussion into the conversation. I don't think this would be the place to do that even if I wanted to. In the same way you can make a quip, I can make an observation, and there's no real purpose to either of them. The only difference is you're responding to me in particular and I'm addressing the thread as a whole.
We seem to be in agreement otherwise so if this exchange is salvageable we could try to have a political discussion and make me look like an idiot for thinking that was impossible.

sure these discussions can be bad. but no value whatsoever? come on, that's a stretch. there's always fair points and sourced statements to be found, even if the shitpost ratio goes a bit overboard
the problem is none of the videos that are posted often merit discussion. with most of these videos you can take a small glance at them to get as much info as you need. checking channel/description gives you a good idea of how a video will play out
the keith olbermann videos fall too far for the left for anyone on the right to even approach and try to watch, and often its a little too much for people on the left too because hes so... vindictive i think is the word. maybe overbearing
and most of these right wing videos tudd/dimitrik post come from the most extreme alt-right/far right youtubers that im suprised anyone wants to touch them
theres no good videos being posted that approach both sides to a topic, even if the video creator leans a bit one way or the other at least it would be representing both sides of a topic worthy of discussion
what makes it worse too is that the OP can just fall onto the video if the topic is in his favor, as tudd did with the like/dislike
Gladly but I'm not really sure what kind of discussion can really be made off of the topic at hand.
I think there's something to be said about the way hate pieces like this affect the general discourse around them. As you say, there's probably something valuable that you could extract from this video if it didn't intentionally provoke people. The way I see it, the big problem is that the valuable pieces of information sort of get poisoned by association with the people presenting them this way. Something reasonable like "Maybe Russia isn't responsible" doesn't seem to be up for debate anymore. And I think the reason for that is polarization on both sides. One one end of the spectrum you have people shouting "RUSSIAN SCUM" and on the other end "LIBERAL SCUM". There's some sort of dynamic at work here, probably conformity, that tugs people in either direction. And so you have this situation where everything is so ridiculous that nothing can get taken seriously. If someone says "Maybe Russia isn't responsible" then they're suddenly lumped in with people like NakedApe (the guy that made the video in the OP) and their viewpoint gets buried because the assumption is that NakedApe is an idiot and therefore everyone that agrees with him is an idiot.
I actually don't care about the like/dislike.
I think the video stands fine on it's own.

Damn, probably the most worthy comment I have seen in this entire thread.

stands fine for you and a few others (because the winner ratings in these threads are the same few people, these arent swaying anyone) because you want to see this content
it literally is just a giant deflection of any criticism or complaints just because it comes from "the left". theres no sources, the video was created just for trump supporters to watch and fluff themselves up. increase their ego a bit. you can even look at the title of the video
and you wonder why no one wants to watch this garbage
doesnt help that the creator is awful too, he shows not even an attempt at any bipartisan viewing at all, and has an unbearable presentation for himself. he has a very awful voice and tries very hard to hype himself up with how he speaks

the problem is you cant just say russia isnt so bad, you have to present why you believe that
i agree with you though, the reason why the "best" way to present your views isnt done is it requires research and thoughtful posts. calling each other names is quicker and easier
[editline]24th December 2016[/editline]
though if you then try and fake the fact youre playing the middle/trying to open debate and then link shit sources (posters have done this before and then link breitbart or something) you arent any better at all, you just pretend to be

I think there should be an equal burden of proof on both parties. I personally think that Russia was in some way responsible for the hacks but I don't think they were trying to influence democracy in some sort of master plan to get Trump elected. That seems a little farfetched to me and I haven't seen any evidence to support the theory.
I also think the hate for Breitbart is a little unwarranted but I can understand why you would question the validity of their sources.

of course, i think sources are important for both sides because i think an argument based on nothing is awful
i have an intense dislike of almost any alternative news source, brietbart is just one of the most notable, because they arent bound by any code of ethics or integrity at all. at least with mainstream news sources, even fox, you can at least get facts from what the present from there even if it has a spin either to the left or right. there was even that fox news guy recently that had to publicly apologize for lying
theres no honor code in these alternate sites and most are free to completely warp the news. the climate change articles they published even show that they have no need to represent facts at all, people will believe it anyway if it falls under what they want to believe. if one is presented to me it better be chock full of links elsewhere that back up what they're saying.

Agreed. Such a heavy bias doesn't serve anyone usefully.

"Rational progressives - if there exists such a thing"
how detached from reality do you have to be to think this is in any way moderate
[editline]24th December 2016[/editline]
I'll say one thing though, the presentation a hundred times more appealing than the OP video's screeching teenage memefest
A moderate who's an anarcho-capitalist lol.
Moderate isn't a synonym for good btw. But christ thatguyt really isn't a moderate
Oh a sperg 'Trump or die' fanboy on youtube, who has a little avatar and a name he came up with, along with a super obnoxious sperg voice, never see his face, cringy quick edited clips, I've NEVER seen that before in my life.

Well I would argue there is no such moderate position. Biases are integral and acknowledging them is much better than trying to present yourself as unbiased and bullshitting people.
But yeah the presentation was much better, just thought I would post it to see what would happen when that changed.

So how would you justify this? You said it was "Moderate". Now you say "Moderate doesn't exist".
What?
The fuck.

Well I asked if that constituted as moderate.
Just trying to gauge what any of yall consider moderate.

Keith Olbermann aside, I think it looks more like we've got some people grabbing whatever video with an anti-SJW perspective they can find and appealing to the idea that the SJWs are getting what they deserve.
The thing is 90% of anti-SJW youtubers are either making their videos with a very clear agenda in mind or are obsessed to an irrational degree. Plus most of them are way too trusting of one another.

The bar is low enough for you tudd that you could post something that's not just self masturbatory/extremely smug and it might actually be looked at
Well I asked if that constituted as moderate.

Honestly, I think that this is another attempt to feed your fantasy that we're evil extremists. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you genuinely believe you're moderate or at least very close to moderate considering you think that the earlier trash you posted was moderate. You seem to have this delusion of grandeur that you're keeping sensationalist headlines balanced, maybe you just don't know what moderate means and you assume it's just a person who keeps things balanced by shitting on the political scale just to add weight to your own side.
I actually think I help keep the forum balanced by being one of the only guys that posts threads from the other side.
Who knows. Maybe you just want to feel like the victim all the time. You seem to have a bad habit of feeling victimized every time something you don't like happens to you, yet when you do that same thing you call it "reasonable" or "rational". I hope that this doesn't come off like one of JumpingJackFlash's BDSM post but jesus your behavior is predictable. Probably in poor taste but let's seriously look at this refugee camp post you made when you posted an unfunny video in lmao pics of someone yelling "PEPE" at a Clinton rally in attempt to balance what was being posted (There were quite a few posts making fun of Trump before yours, it's a safe assumption.)

If I were to have to choose 1 post to sum up all your posts, this would be it. This is one of your refugee camp posts asking for explanation to the easily explainable ban you received.
You implied your video was poorly received because we didn't agree with it, not because it was unfunny and political. You somehow manage to become the victim where it's convenient for you. That right there, is a Tudd post.
I don't get it
People are over Hillary, they even called her a lot of shit because she lost to Trump, they have criticised heavily the DNC yet Tudd, you can't get over Hillary and the only thing that comes to mind as to why, it's because she's the only thing you can grab onto to defend your trump daddy and even then, despite Trump advocating arms race against Russia and worsening relations with China, you'd still bring up that she is a warhawk because she wanted to do something about ~cybersecurity~ after the hacking
you're either a troll or just absolutely delusional

Criticize Trump? BUT HILLARY!
Can we just get a megathread for all these shitty political threads?
