So I just took one and it feels that after the initial cold surge, the water feels like it becomes warm.
I just took one and I have a better sense of satisfaction
I don't know if it's something wrong with me or something normal, but I really can't stay in cold shower water, it's impossible for me and almost feels like absolute pain. I can swim around in lakes and rivers but it takes me longer to get used to the water.
So I took a cold shower... You sorta forgot about the coldness after like 30 seconds. Would do again/forever.
One time I actually had to take a cold shower; our heater was kapoot. Worst experience of my life.
I've heard that taking a cold shower after taking a hot shower will close your pores and somehow help your hair. It actually feels really nice.
yeah, it feels like it seals the heat in and feels soooo good. Im just a huge pussy though and haven't bothered to try it for a while
I always try to take cold showers but chicken out in the end. I end up just taking room temperature showers (around 25C). I want to take cold showers but then my lungs freak out and I can't breathe.
I know I get itchy skin from hot showers in Winter but its so damn cold. I'll have to try out cold showers though because I have a few problems that were brought up in this video.
cold showered every day for 6 months last year when our hot water went out and our dishwasher had it's own heater. Feels fantastic but I do live in tropical Australia.
I've taken cold showers before, but nothing will bear a near-scalding shower in my book opens the pores which is really nice cause i usually do all manner of face and skin care immediately after taking a shower, makes life a lot easier, and it clears up my sinuses, seeing as im normally stuffy 3/4 of the year thanks to a huge sensitivity to pollen!
A cold shower before going to sleep is great. I find it difficult to go to sleep feeling hot, or even worse, sweaty.
guess it wouldn't hurt to try for a few month
I like skin-temperature showers. They arent hot but they also arent cold, and when you leave the shower you dont feel cold at all.
He really needed to revise his script, or... follow his script. Being in florida and being an oily person, I take very hot showers with very aggressive soaps to dry out my skin.
Why not both I wash myself and shampoo my hair in mild water, and then wash the soap and shampoo off of me in cold water before exiting
Wait so how cold are we talking about. Like winter cold in Canada, or like a brisk walk with no clothes on by the lake in fall?
I like cold showers but god damn the initial shock fucking hurts.
Wait so how cold are we talking about. Like winter cold in Canada, or like a brisk walk with no clothes on by the lake in fall?
However cold your cold water is? Just don't put any hot in. If you've got one of those 'dimmer'-style taps that just has a hot-cold transition, I'd say put it all the way to cold if you can bear it.
I sure feel like going into a cold shower and never coming out at the moment.
nothing beats a shower at near volcano temprature to wake a man up and send him to the ER for first degree burns. Wakes you up, ready for the new day.
Im getting one of those hole-in-the ice membership cards for next winter, it basically lets me use their hole and their sauna. Its going to be cool.
I did this for 30 days last summer and I didn't really notice any differences except that it was easier to sleep. Might do it again anyway because I hate getting sick. I thought cold showers were for pretentious nofappers.
Well one thing that I do is I take a normal warm shower but right at the end set it to cold. Feels glorious.
Watched this vid after shooting some hoops. Good call, feel so much better after a cold shower. Especially since it's bloody roasting today.
A lot of this sounds like conjecture, to be honest. He almost never presents any definitive research. Cold showers do feel good after a while, though. Also I'm convinces they helped up my resistance to cold come wintertime but again that's just subjective. You should be taking cold showers only if you want to, not because of a list full of hypotheticals. Personally I like taking hot showers to soap up, and turning it to cold to rinse off. This is called the Scottish shower. The Art of Manliness calls this the James Bond shower.
I like cold showers but god damn the initial shock fucking hurts.
It's the greatest thing ever to wake you up in the morning though.
I usually just take a cold shower when it's really fucking hot (so a lot recently) Then if you dry your bottom half and leave your torso and arms still wet, It can massively increase the amount of thermal energy leaving your body, and no matter how hot your room is it won't seem that hot when you're covered in cold water. Basically think of sweat but 100x more effective I heard another good method is to start it hot-ish and then slowly decrease the temperature, so it's comfortable to step in but gives you all the benefits of each.
The only thing I hate about showers is how cold you get AFTER you exit the shower. You think it's cold leaving a hot shower? try a cold shower.
Actually it is better. The change in temperature is what makes it uncomfortably cold when leaving the shower. As someone who takes cold showers, it is actually way more comfortable to step from a cold shower to comfortable room temperature than it is to step out a hot shower. Cold showers have actually improved my concentration and respiration too, if you put your face into the water stream, you will find that you have to work hard to control your breathing so you don't panic. It's like being waterboarded, only fun!
so cold it burns
