Hey newsflash bud, I dont care if my hobby is not friendly or universal.
This might surprise you in this "Big bang" culture we are in right now, But I am a real nerd With no social skills.
This is my escapism, I get to go to a place where my appearance and thought process is not relevant.
I am intensely sorry if the only thing I yearn for is to save a woman from a castle and feel accomplished for ten minutes out of my shitty life. before I have to turn off my computer and venture into the bright and shity real world where people like you berate me for rape or beatings that I would have never condone.
So i am sorry if I pissed you off by expressions my anger talking about this toxic situation/trend that seems to be spreading like a chia pet on speed.
Yes, that hole in the ground is preeeeettty appetizing right now.
what the fuck are you talking about, that was fucking incomprehensible
from what I'm able to gather you've pigeonholed yourself into being the cliched bitter nerd who feels insecure about equality that all men's rights activists are

I don't understand the relevance though.
Did you watch the video?
my feelings on a internet fourm.

not really mature shit when you're expressing a viewpoint generally viewed as immature in a post that mostly has nothing to do with the topic at hand
I don't understand the relevance though.

yep!

Right, no where did I say anything about equality. But go ahead an condensed to me, Thats totally how you get people to change their minds on a subject.
Second. yes I am bitter but I do not belong to any mens rights organizations, or heck any organizations for the matter.
But go ahead and pretend I am a sexist if that makes you feel better about my thoughts.
I have never in the history of my life been more been so confused about what you would find so offensive about wanting to be left alone.
oh and you might want to read this:

I'm not condescending to you, I'm saying that your post was incomprehensible very bluntly, that's like the opposite.
I don't understand people who say they want to be 'left alone', feminists aren't trying to take away the rights of men, they're trying to ensure that women have the same rights as men.

its the way people put that message that angers people, not the message it self.
If a person were to break down the front door of your neighbours house with an axe and tell him that bullying is wrong, how would he react?
if it was my door I would tell him to fuck off.
And It Probably dosent help that you call people:
"A bitter nerd who feels insecure about equality that all men's rights activists are"
Which is condescending by the way.
Anyway, I came to this thread to tell everyone to chill the fuck out and keep real world problems away from video games. Thats all, not to anger anyone then get into a debate about gender inequality.
sorry.

But they're not doing that, they're not invading people's personal space and telling them their beliefs. Most feminists are like this guy and speak out in a very civil way - the most invasive thing I've seen feminists use is street protests, and those are in countries that treat women so badly that action like that is utterly warranted to bring attention to these issues. Do you feel perchance that videos about feminism and gender equality don't really belong on this website that's primarily geared towards discussion of video games? Because I think that's where the problem lies; gaming is traditionally seen as a male dominated thing and people feel threatened when someone tries to change the status quo. There's nothing to be threatened about, the only thing you need to feel threatened about is that there IS a problem with gender equality in the gaming space, perhaps even more than most other forms of entertainment and that it has gone on for a long time utterly unchallenged. No one's going to take anything away from you or trying to force their viewpoint on you, they're just giving other people more rights. And at the end of the day it'll make gaming much more interesting.

People aren't beating your door down, though, they're posting a video on YouTube and a thread on a forum. No one forced you to watch the video or read the thread, you made the choice to come here. If you don't like it, ignore it and go and play some games.
It seems like you're saying no one else should talk about this sort of thing because it makes you personally uncomfortable. That's not wanting to be left alone, that's wanting to shut people up because you don't like what they're saying.
Sure Sure sure sure sure your all right never mind.
ill shut up

Because that's what you came across as in that post, I can see that you're not actively a misogynist, few guys are, but complacency and people saying nothing against the status quo kills progress. It's just that I've seen so many people say the same things and it just makes them more and more bitter and twisted when it really doesn't need to

Are video games not part of the real world? Aren't they a form of media which can influence and shape minds? They're just as valid a form of expression as movies or books, they have the power to shape people's perceptions about certain thing. They have value, saying they affect nothing ascribes them none.
Also, the issue of gender inequality in the video game industry is a real issue and needs to be sorted out, the root causes need to be identified and action should be taken. Playing games is split pretty evenly between the genders, why then are most games aimed at men, why are most games made by men and why do the few women game makers get paid less? That's a real issue.
And finally, this is a video and a thread about domestic violence and the gender imbalance in our culture, video games haven't entered into it. If you feel threatened by the mere presence of a thread talking about this on this forum you should read up on the subject, and if you still feel offended you should leave. I can plainly see that you aren't up to speed on this subject so I would really like you to take part in this so we can learn from each other.

Has your knowledge actually been expanded or are you not willing to argue anymore? If it's the former I'm glad, if it's the latter we're just having a civil discussion, not arguing.

People wouldn't think that way about you if you weren't so unnecessarily hostile and defensive in these threads dude. It just reeks of insecurity and and persecution complex.
If we can get banned for racism here, why can't we get banned for sexism? Granted, punishment is not a constructive way to enforce favorable thinking, but it could be a step forward. He did say people in leadership positions need to take charge on this issue.

We can, it's just that usually it has to be very, very blatant.
1.) Because I'm not an obnoxiously liberal, women studies major.
2.) Because I have better things to do than claim everything's sexist.
3.) Because I don't feel the need to justify my shortcomings by ranting about "Patriarchy."
4.) Because the idea of privilege is a fucking joke.
5.) Because online social justice is just one big form of ego stroking.
6.) Because said social justice people consist 80% of fat dykes, and 20% men with aspergers.
7.) Because Max falls into the latter half, except with even more spaghetti.
8.) Because die cis scum.

Is that enough?
You don't need to be some obnoxious militant to be a feminist.
If you support women in any kind of way you're technically a feminist.

I support women's rights to be everything they could ever want to be, including the right to defend themselves at any time anywhere without the "help" of obnoxious bleeding-heart sperglord male-feminists, does that count?
