depends on if you have an excuse and do your work otherwise I suppose. I had a lot of teachers who threatened to drop you a letter grade if you missed more than 3 or so classes without a damn good excuse back in highschool, then near every teacher in college

AP Lang and World are the only ones that I've taken that actually had homework (on a regular basis). AP Physics C, Microbiology, Calculus, APUSH, & AP Econ/Gov rarely have homework that you can't crank out the class before.
My dad would murder me for talking to my mother that way. It's complete utter disrespect; yeah, I get it, he doesn't want to be in bed, maybe he was legitimately sick, but the last thing a recovering immune system needs is video game stimulation. He should be resting or doing something easy like reading a book.
I've never yelled at my mum like that, and if I have I felt shitty afterwards because any reasonable person should be able to control their emotions and compose oneself when stuff like that happens. Even if the opposite individual is not, it's better than escalating things.

Man. I'd do the same shit when I was a kid. Any sort of sore throat or whatever I'd sometimes use that as an excuse to stay home. I think the worst part about this is how he thinks he's like totally in the right for disrespecting his own mom. Good thing the internet is a permanent archive, I'm sure he'll regret the shit out of this in five years.
Something tells me this kid consistently gets low grades, there's no way a mom would blow up like that for nothing.
My mom's definitely been that upset with me about homework and playing games but that was highschool when I was doing awful so it was justified I feel.

Bullshit. I'm in multiple AP classes this year, and the only one that really gives a lot of work is the English one. Even then, it's mostly long term reading and writing.
My mom always used to pull this shit on me. I don't see the problem with playing games when it's after school (I'd be in bed all day until then anyway.) It's just the same as sitting in bed watching T.V., except you've got a controller in your hand.
