I wonder if anyone has "recognized" him? Of course you can't recognize him by looks since his face is never shown, but there aren't that many people going around silently filming strangers and from what I've gathered the videos did have fair amounts of views
[t]http://www.shockmansion.com/wp-content/myimages/2014/04/Cameraman.jpg[/t] It's a fairly decent camera he has, the wristband looking thing is the camera strap looped on his arm probably because people hit him so much.
So he can censor out his own face but he doesn't have the decency to censor everyone he films without their permission? Almost every prank channels out there censor the faces if they didn't get their permission from them. Should be illegal to upload a video of someone else without their permission tbh

The people who don't want their face shown just don't want people to know they are assholes, and it's better if people know they are assholes, and the ones who weren't assholes couldn't care less if their face is shown being a tolerating person. | Man you guys are so soft-shelled it's hilarious | v
So he can censor out his own face but he doesn't have the decency to censor everyone he films without their permission?
He didn't censor his face. Did you not notice he isn't the person taking that photo? There's a version with it not blurred.
I watch these videos because they're good entertainment but the points this guy makes are retarded. Nobody will see real surveillance videos. This guy videos people and uploads the footage to youtube, for everyone to see. Some people are obviously not comfortable with people on the internet potentially judging the way they look or what they do. Which is why these people get mad. He's filming homeless people and people having mental breakdowns or w/e in public. What he does isn't morally "right" at all, people should stop pretending that there's nothing bad about what he does. I personally wouldn't want a private conversation I'm having end up on a highly popular youtube channel either. Pushing peoples buttons and uploading their reactions to get youtube fame isn't exactly an admirable thing to do.

That's the point of surveillance, to see what you are up to. Remember how Snowden told that NSA guys would pass pictures of naked chicks they intercepted around the office for everyone to take a look? There is nothing bad about he does. He doesn't hurt anyone. Its understandable why people get mad. But in the video I haven't seen him follow anyone who walks away. Also I am yet to see a single person politely ask him to stop.

"What?" 4:10 "Hey man, what are you doing?" "Just taking a video." "Nah, man, that's alright, don't like my picture taken." "Oh, it's ok." 7:53 "Can I help you?" "I'm just taking a video." "Oh, you can't take a video here, it's private property." Almost all of them just ask "What are you doing?" and then "Why?" before they even get angry or upset. He just acts stubborn and ignores everything and pretends not to know what they're talking about. Or he's doing a massive social faux-pas like walking behind a counter at a restaurant or literally following young girls with a camera.
My favorite parts are when he vists those asian people playing some sort of game. Why do they get so pissed off?
illegal gambling would be my bet
I still chuckle every time I see some confused person trying to figure out his "message" or "logic" when it comes to these videos. There literally isn't one and that's the whole point. [editline]banana[/editline] If you really think about it it's a sort of double edged sword social experiment. He tapes people to get their reactions, which is experiment number one, and then never actually saying the reason he does it, he leaves the viewers to interpret why. I don't care for any of the deep message nonsense, I just prefer to watch it for exactly what it is, a guy taping people and getting interesting reactions. [editline]baanananaannana[/editline] Then again, if I'm right what's to say my interpretation isn't also just part of the experiment?? :tinfoil:

"You seem confused."
44:15... Ray Sipe?
This is almost a year old apperantly :v:
Surveillance Camera Man isn't making a point, it's almost purely public trolling. Thanks Computer!, the studio that helps produce a lot of Million Dollar Extreme stuff like Officer Maggot, is involved in the project. I can't remember how to access the site, but the white dude in Thanks Computer! has an online portfolio that includes a link to SCM.
Why do people get so angry if they're being filmed?
@ 19.35 It looks like Barry chuckle
Why do people get so angry if they're being filmed?
Would you like someone to walk right up to you and shove a camera lens in your face while you're trying to get to work? You have no idea why he is filming you, and he is getting in your way. He disregards any polite requests to stop filming you, and he has no respect for privacy. Who wouldn't get angry at someone like this?
The same thing happens if you try to take pictures of people in GTA:V. Except they kill you.
Why do people get so angry if they're being filmed?
I don't know, why do people get mad when a stranger shoves recording devices in their faces?
Considering the prominence of those shitty prank videos, it's easy to see why people get defensive about being recorded. Odds are, nothing good will come of it.
This guy is awkward as fuck, the way he mumbles "mm just taking a video" makes me cringe way too much.
this guy's doing like the total opposite of security cams somebody just comes up to you and starts videoing you, you're gonna be like "why the fuck's this dude doing this, is it the way i look oh my god i look dumb as fuck or something" more like fucking insecurity cam
This guy is awkward as fuck, the way he mumbles "mm just taking a video" makes me cringe way too much.
i think thats the point my man
so i watch videos like this from a different era and it occurs to me that the only difference between surveillance camera man and this guy, is that this guy actually talks to the people he's filming. i'd sort of like to see what happens if he just engaged people a little more

My favorite is the coked out blond guy. The difference here is this guy is just interested in people, SCM is just fucking with people.

This makes me so mad There's just people here trying to live their lives and some asshole comes up with a camera because apparently it's funny. I only really don't mind it when it's the fucking morons who get filmed, otherwise there's really no point it's just kinda infuriating how he keeps coming back
i think he was trying to spread a message with the first one but he got a good response so the rest of them are just trying to get funny reactions from people
Honestly if this guy got to me while I was walking, I'd just ignore him and let him follow me to a metro station so he'd have to pay money to keep following me, and if he does, I could just step out of the subway as the doors close. Makes you wonder about the footage he hasn't uploaded, I'm sure there are situations that were either boring or embarrassing for him because the subject didn't care or did something clever, and he probably didn't include them for that reason.
People here keep talking about how 'morally wrong' this is. Do we have examine every form of comedy for social wrongdoings before we can allow ourselves to laugh? Christ.

Christ.
i laugh at shit that's funny, this is about as funny as those "pranks in the hood" videos. same mindset, basically. do something that's just barely reprehensible, and act defensive when you're justifiably called out. "its just a video bro lol chill". then slap it on youtube, call it comedy, and watch as everyone complains about how insane and violent the video producer's victims are. insta-fame
46:54-47:35 are among my favorite bits.
