Gamegrumps - An old youtube channel from JonTron and Egoraptor v2

I haven't laughed that hard at a grumps episode in a while.
Certainly looking forward to more Nickelodeon Guts episodes.
Wow, the people in the comments seem totally divided over the issue of who was right. I'm not seeing any general consensus there.
I'm pretty sure Arin was in the right. He was asking how to play, not how to win. And it wasn't even a serious competition. Jon should have helped him out.

This cheered me up after a shitty day today.
Is that Serenade in Blue I hear?
Nope, Moonlight Serenade.
I will never be able to hear Arin sing that without cracking a smile. It's just so fucking random.
Well I did it.
This is what I would imagine if Game Grumps played a bullet hell.
I'm pretty worried about myself. Just watched all of Sonic 06 #47 (Arin's song, void world) and didn't even smile
am I dead on the inside?
I'm starting to worry for myself :(
I feel like this picture would represent Lemon and Bill if they were real people (of course Jon is Bill and Arin is Lemon).

I think people admitted it was the best ending ever, not the funniest one.
I still stand by the Spice Girls video as the one I laughed the most at (second place is Dead Space 3), but I do agree that the ending to the Sonic one was the best.

Did you find it funny? Not everyone has to laugh or even smile if they find something funny. When I watch Game Grumps the most I ever do is chuckle for a few seconds but I still find them hilarious.

I'd disagree. If both of them were given an equal amount of time playing the game and Jon just managed to figure something out about it before Arin, it's fair to me. Besides the point, Arin has said in the past he hates when games just falt out explain the controls to him, so the irony here is delicious :v:

Arin also said he likes when the game teaches the controls through gameplay, so that irony is only half complete as the game didn't teach him anything.
no arin is right, it doesn't matter if one person figured out a GAME CONTROL in the same amount of time. imagine if playing smash bros with two people having played for the same amount of time, one person figured out how to up b to get back on the platform (accidentally) and the other still hadn't, the fight is not fair. you would tell the person how to do it.
how can you even get satisfaction from beating a person who doesn't know the buttons?

I don't think you're obligated to tell someone something like that in order for it to be considered fair. If both people came in with the same amount of knowledge and same amount of time, it's all fair game IMO. Jon had no obligation to tell Arin anything for it to be fair.
It may seem "unfair" to the person who doesn't understand it, but in a competition such as this figuring things like that out is a legitimate skill.
but the actual game controls are not the same thing as a strategy. you wouldn't have to tell the other person your strategy, but you have to tell them what the gosh darn buttons do
playing with someone who knows how to do a certain move that you could totally do to if you know, and they just won't tell you, is fucking annoying and not fair
every game has different button combos, and there are so many possible combinations that it's very easy to never get it even by trying to do all the ones you can think of
there's a reason game booklets tell you all the buttons and all the possible combos - so everyone can know them. but they probably don't have one. so whoever figures them out should tell the other person. it's called 'not being a jerk' and making it fair.
in what video game, ever, does a persons skill rely in actually knowing what all the buttons do? none ever. that's supposed to be a given.
winning with that kind of advantage just isn't really that fun for either party.
but from the perspective of a couple comedians producing content it's absolutely fantastic for the rest of us
It's just common courtesy to tell the person you're playing with how to do the moves if they're seriously just stumped.
How much of a cheapass are you to just beat on your friend who is clueless about the game like that. That's not fun, nor is it fair. If you were your friend, why the fuck would you want to play a game like that with you if you're going to just be a cheap shit.
Arin and Jon are both cool dudes and I love em, but Jon really gets dumb about fighting games and shit because he's always butthurt when he gets his ass handed to him (even though he says he's played the game before and knows what to do) while Arin seems to give him a break (probably because he knows that Jon will whine the entire episode if he doesn't.)
Honestly I think that they mess with each other like that because it makes good video content. Can you imagine what they would be talking about if they didn't start that argument? I think it would go something like this:
"Look at that...dang-ass green rope."
yeah it makes it good content
but Arin is still right
and so is rusty
