the hair thing really isnt a big deal
its more annoying that they hardly changed dante's personality at all, and just changed his hair color and made him a messy dresser. reboot, everybody
but apparently the devs got a big kick out of the whole thing and as a fuck you to everyone else they had that scene with the mop on his head that went on for far too long to even be funny imo.
the whole thing is just brand surfing tbh because reboot has reached buzzword status. couldve been a completely different series and not dmc and you can still judge the game for what it is.

Actually from what I've seen they've turned a sort of funny character who did stuff ~ironically~ into an angsty teen

honestly I felt that they changed dante's personality a lot
you could have old dante and new dante say the exact same sentence and old dante would be cooler because of his devil may care (!!!) delivery
new dante says everything as if he's demanding lunch money from a fellow ten year old, he sounds like he's trying to be cool as opposed to old dante actually being cool
basically new dante is travis touchdown minus the part where you weren't supposed to take travis seriously. where clover said "Travis is saying this because he wants to be cool," ninja theory is saying "dante is saying this because he IS cool" even though they're saying the exact same thing with the same inflections and what have you.

i figured DMC dante was supposed to be a younger dante or something, thus his cockyness.
though you're right in the end because ive been told his character does not have an arc.

I could totally see the new Dante being a younger, not actually cool yet Dante, but the fact that every Virgil behaves the exact same way gives the impression that Dante being exceedingly immature wasn't an intentional thing and we were actually supposed to think Dante saying "FUCK YOU FATTY" to a demon was supposed to be legitimately badass.
Also yes Dante behaves the exact same way across the entire game. He doesn't mature in the slightest because, in his creator's eyes, he is already a mature badass cool kid that doesn't play by the rules.

Pretty much.
I didn't care so much about Donte look, my problem with him is the way they made his personality insufferable beyond redemption.
In the end of the game Travis at least stop to being a mayor asshole and learn the lesson, but Donte never change and stay the asshole he is in the star of the game. They try to do it but it feels forced, like the whole game plot.

I recall that, in an interview a while back, the DMC Dante is actually in his late 20s, older than the regular Dante (Other than in DMC2.)
new dante isn't very angsty
new dante isn't very angsty
He's not angsty, but his design certainly makes him look like it.
He looks like a shabby self-loathing douchebag and acts like a ten year old that learned how to curse from action movies.

I don't understand why they just took one character from each series. They had Sly Cooper but didn't use Bentley or Murray. They had Drake but not Sully, etc. Not to mention the PS has so many more exclusive characters that they could've used but didn't.
That's why they had to resort to uses 2 Coles and using non-PS exclusive characters like Big Daddy. They really should've given up on the game because it was a good concept (albeit stolen from Nintendo) but every game decision they did was wrong.
I can't help but wounder why there was not a Shadow of the colossus stage in the game. Just being able to use the music from Shadow of the colossus would be epic.

Say that to the Game Boy Micro I just got that I've been having a blast with all day.
this comments section is just fucking exploding.

the only cool thing about it really was the environments. I mean they even fucked up the comboness of the game by making enemies that can only be killed by certain weapons, so you have to stop and separate them, then kill them with that one weapon. then they made getting the high ranking combos like SSS extremely easy as pressing 3 buttons in a row. And it was piss easy compared to the others.

loved barry's comment
I kind of wish there was a playable car representing Gran Turismo in this game.
All-Stars is probably right now the most balanced brawl game of its style. They've released balance updates and its probably one of the few games which I play online that no matter what character you choose you always feel like you have a chance. The content is lacking sure but at least the online works very smoothly unlike certain other brawl games. I dunno I love the game and play it often, it's pretty great online.

I was really confused by this until I realized that it didn't say "Gran Torino"

Yes, it is a fun game to play online because is pretty smooth. My only problem with the game is how proyectile characters (Donte and Sweet Tooth) beat the fuck out of Sir Daniel and Big Daddy.

Sega did it.

melee was masterfully balanced don't know what you're talking about tbh
there's maybe one or two characters that weren't good at all, everyone else owned
It makes me sad that they had such a small roster for this game.
No Crash Bandicoot or Spyro :(
well, then again...

Hopefully they make another one and refine the concept, like Nintendo did with Melee/Brawl. They've got a lot of catching up to do, and it'll never be a replacement for Super Smash Bros, but it could go alongside it well enough.

Sega once again proves they're the best company
can we let them have another chance at a console this generation, guys?

The game pictured is for the nintendo 64.
Playstation all stars is for the PS3.
Thats an age difference of around ten years.

I don't think you got the point
This is the first Playstation All-stars game, that's the third Super Smash Brothers game

When I said "Right now" I meant for the current gen. Melee is still my favourite though I agree, play it regularly.
I am still hoping for the glorious day in which all the game publishes hold hands in harmony and work together on a brawl-style game with a HUGE roster of characters from every good publisher ever.

I don't think you get the point. it's on a more technologically advanced system, therefore it's got more room for a bigger roster, how much data goes on an N64 cart?

The point being the point that I was trying to make. Developing a roster of characters takes time, it's not something you can do overnight, and it's taken Super Smash Bros years.
