I got frustrated watching them play Sonic and failing to follow directions. They then proceeded to not realize to press l2 on the start screen for a minute and then talked over Glados and wondered what to do. I'm going to have to sit this one out.
holy shit you guys are crying about the stupidest shit for the wrong reasons. They're not playing this shit to be completionists, they're playing it to have fun with each other. They're not using their entire thought process for the puzzles because they're too busy making fart jokes. If you guys want to go watch 2 jack offs complete portal 2 with nazi-like efficiency, you need to go somewhere else. god damn the way you guys cry over them not paying attention is the stupidest shit
If anything, their failure to read and follow directions and subsequent frustration leads to more hilarity. Usually.
there's a reason they're called the game grumps the game is a part of the process, it's the only thing that stops this from just being a podcast. not paying attention but still making progress while joking is fine but when it devolves into WHAT DO I DO WHERE DO I GO when it could be easily avoided is horrifically irritating. The grumps need to give the game more love.
Are there really people who think that the Game Grumps are "selling out" for playing these newer games?
Are there really people who think that the Game Grumps are "selling out" for playing these newer games?
There was a large amassing of them when the Dead Space 3 vid came out, but I think the idiots have died down a bit.
I'm almost convinced they do just smoke up pot before every GameGrumps session because their level of comprehension is very similar to mine when I'm high and playing video games...
Are there really people who think that the Game Grumps are "selling out" for playing these newer games?
apparently, but even if they did, who gives a shit, they're still funny as hell.
I'm happy they're playing newer games. I loved the classic games they played, but it started to feel like Retro and Obscure Grumps for a while.

Yeah It's still hilarious and it's still grumps but once they've spent more than half an episode on one small thing (not to say some things in Portal 2 won't rightfully take them longer) it kind of gets frustrating. Especially when they are so focused on trying to figure this one (simple) thing that they stop being funny. No but, I agree, I don't expect or want them to be all completionist over anything. I kind of just feel like any other game would've been a better choice, as it would've been still funny without the frustration part.
I'm almost convinced they do just smoke up pot before every GameGrumps session because their level of comprehension is very similar to mine when I'm high and playing video games...
I can only imagine their level of comprehension while high.
I hope they make up the (presumably) lost Sonic episodes, but I won't mind if they don't It sucks how frustrating it is to lose so much work, it makes all motivation to redo it disappear
I'm happy they're playing newer games. I loved the classic games they played, but it started to feel like Retro and Obscure Grumps for a while.
I can't really think of a game they played that was obscure. I seemed to know every one...
I REALLY enjoyed their You Don't Know Jack episode. Maybe it's just because I've played that game before, but they actually payed attention to everything, and they both treated it as a versus situation. In all the other versus episodes, they're either telling eachother the answer or they're getting mad because they didn't pay attention or one of them isn't telling them how to do something etc etc. Another thing is that they're hardly even talking, but it's still really enjoyable. Just goes to show they don't have to talk about bullshit for 15 minutes just to make an episode fun. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
I can't really think of a game they played that was obscure. I seemed to know every one...
Mary Kate and Ashley, That weird Ultraman game or whatever, Sonic 06', Run Sabre, Universal Studios, etc. Basically games that don't fit the Retro or Mainstream category I consider obscure.
I can't really think of a game they played that was obscure. I seemed to know every one...
Run Sabre and Psycho Dream were pretty obscure imo, but this is coming from a person who only played Super Mario All-Stars, Killer Instinct and Mario Paint on the SNES as a kid. Also, now I can't stop saying "Sness" when talking about the Super Nintendo. Thanks Jon.
I can't really think of a game they played that was obscure. I seemed to know every one...
Psycho Dream is the only one that comes to mind, being Japan exclusive and all. Also some of the shovelware they played.

You Don't Know Jack is far more obscure in comparison.
if it ending means arin actually makes cartoons again that'd be great
Game Grumps is something that gets recorded for a few hours (every few day? once a week?), it doesn't interfere with his animation schedule. One of the reasons I love animation so much is because I can appreciate just how much work goes into the damn thing, particularly at Ego's level of fluidity. Good animation takes a lot of time. Stiff animation doesn't take nearly as long. He's working, give him time.
I'm pretty sure the ruined-forever-point was Crash of the Titans or even Tag Team Racing to some extent. (N. Gin slowly losing his character and the game not even trying to hide the 'Go Karting with Bowser') Unless you mean it was the point when the good ended and not when the bad started.
It was more like the first step towards the downward spiral. Not to mention that game was rushed as shit, and there are several plot points mentioned in the game that they just didn't even touch on. I hope that soon, some of the kids like me that grew up with Crash get into the industry and try to steer it back in the right direction and do it a service.

I love it when Jon goes into "little boy's first time at Toys r' Us" mode when he plays a game that he didn't expect to be good. He sounds so pleased I just can't help but feel happy too. <3 u Jon
