well, sonic 06 seems to be a game they don't really pay attention to much, and most of it is just their conversation, but i guess that might be a factor.
that "WTF, AS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT" or "HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THAT?" attitude really does bug me though. that mentality that there's certain things you're just not allowed to have not seen/not liked. it's a fairly common thing, too.
yeah people being mad because someone hasnt seen or heard of or liked something is annoying
i get it all the time when i tell people i haven't seen the alien movies
[editline]23rd February 2013[/editline]
ah i also haven't seen the terminator movies
oh hey they actually talked about things that happened in the game
those dolphins
I can't wait for them to get to the final level of Sonic '06.

I don't think they're going to do the last chapter. They're going to finish Silver's chapter and completely miss that they unlocked a fourth campaign.
Didn't Omega come from Sonic Adventure?
Eggman created him along with other robots, and then he became a good guy or something like that.

Only time I remember Omega was in Sonic Heroes. Yeah, I played and owned that game once, and I vaguely remember it involving switching between characters and going through the game four times, each as a different team. There was Team Sonic, Team Shadow, Team Rose, and Team Chaotix, and in the end we had a four-phase boss battle in which the three teams worked to soften up the final boss in turn, then Team Sonic goes all Super Saiyan and takes out the final boss.
That's pretty much how it went, but my game had a bug in it, wherein the characters would always head to the left and I had to struggle to keep them on track. Even with that shit happening, I still managed to beat the game, even with a particularly annoying bit in the "final dungeon zone" where the leftward careening resulted in me falling into the big death pit at the start on many an occasion. Yeah; I don't know what my younger self saw in that game either, though it's still got a better love story than Sonic '06, even if Sonic Heroes didn't even have any sort of love story beyond Amy being a stalkery psycho bitch with a hammer and a weird haircut.

I think chaos in SA1 counts.

If anyone's wondering, Omega was a security robot guarding the original Shadow, he activated when Rouge opened the pod that shadow was in, then he became a good guy to get revenge on Eggman for keeping him inside that room for so long.
Trying to work on a Game Grumps Animated, then Flash crashes for no reason, and I forgot to save an hour of progress...
Omega is from Sonic Heroes, based on Gamma from Adventure 1 but edgier!
Fuck you Sonic Team.

omega had a decent voice in sonic heroes but they removed it all in his sonic 06 one
also i hope they notice the final chapter because it'll be the best thing if they pay attention

For a time I wondered about that whole pod thing; at the end of the Team Shadow "campaign", there were [sp]a bunch of Shadows in stasis, and coupled with the whole "I must destroy all Eggman robots!" thing that Omega uttered during the intro sequence to Team Dark's campaign, when I first played I thought those were implications of the Shadow of that game potentially being some sort of android or Replicant. Remembering back, I can assume they were androids built by Metal Sonic to experiment with the "ultimate life form data", though I don't recall anything saying that Shadow wasn't some sort of synthetic life form to begin with, despite looking like a regular organic lifeform anyways; perhaps as the "ultimate life form" he had some kinds of subtle cybernetics inside of him, blending the better qualities of organic and synthetic "biologies".[/sp]
Not saying that he's definitely like that, since I'm not a buff on the "lore" of the Sonic universe, but it might be a thing, unless that Shadow the Hedgehog game actually gives more explanation as to his true nature, though that game wasn't exactly GOTY from what I've heard, and even though Shadow is technically a dark character, giving him guns wasn't the best way to show it, especially since you don't exactly see Amy blowing away robots with a shotgun, nor do you see Sonic diving through the air with dual pistols. It's just not something that fits in with the Sonic universe; hell you could give them all psychic powers and it'd fit better than GUNS, especially considering the whole Chaos Emerald thing.
getting real tired of them not talking about the game or game related topics and it basically becoming a podcast over some unrelated gameplay
specially annoying when it comes to cutscenes
(fuckin' looking at you sonic 06)

Now this is more like it, never actually seen gameplay of this even though I've heard the name, it's really awesome looking. What console is it for?

Oh my god Jon would you just read the INSTRUCTIONS for ONCE!

Gamecube and PS2. I think they're playing on the GC though.

Hnngh, I've always wanted to play Viewtiful Joe, I'll have to see if I can find it on Amazon or something.
Viewtiful Joe was my first fighting game.
And by first I mean I played it in a Walmart while my parents were shopping

If you don't mind Ebay there's this really good store that has a ton of disc-only games, with free shipping to the US, and really low int'l rates ('cause it's only the discs)
I've been looking into buying some stuff from there because I'm way too cheap to have a game with the jewel case and manual shipped all the way here, and it'd probably get stuck in customs or something if I did anyway.

I love you for this. I bought a bunch of PS2 games from Gamestop, but they're absolutely awful and a bunch of games won't work, so this is awesome.
In fact, it was the PS All Stars episodes that prompted me to get them. Damn marketing.
So I was playing Evil Genius and uhh....

If that's how ye feel, vote with your views, or technically with your not-views. It's similar to voting with your wallet in terms of buying or not buying a game, since watching the video and viewing the ads nets the partners their revenue, and without the views, likes, comments, favourites and subscribes, they don't get as much revenue. That's how the system works, and coordinating a manoeuvre in which a substantial bunch of Grump fans refuse to watch their content as a form of protest, they'd probably have to take notice of their drop in revenue and have to address the issue.
That being said if Jon and Arin did an actual Grumpcast where they did their talking and not-paying-attention, that would be ok; so long as they pay attention and respect to the games they are playing in the main Grump vids; sure certain games might not deserve respect, but they should at least pay attention and not whine whenever they don't understand what to do.
That being said (phrase of the day; use it wisely), Arin seemed to be pointing things out for Jon in the VJ Grump Vid, so at least Arin's paying attention; can't say the same for Jon but that's probably because he's the Hardy in their double act as the Grumps, the rotund Wise Guy to Arin's slender-ish Straight Man. I know, it's a bit silly comparing the Grumps to a classic comedic double-act from the early 20th century, but I don't have any other comedic Straight Man and Wise Guy double acts in mind at the moment.
Maybe a break would do them well. Film a bunch in a short time but keep the release schedule. They'd get out of the routine and keep the audience happy.
I personally wouldn't mind if they took a break from filming and uploading. It would be refreshing for everyone, but you know how people would throw a fit if that happened.
If they can get out of the routine, they can have time to refine their technique. And by refining their technique, I mean paying attention to tutorials and paying respect to the games they play, even if it doesn't technically deserve honourable respect; just let the cutscenes do their talking. Even though cutscenes are such bad game design that they aren't even game design, they are still something we have to deal with in some games, so when the black bars appear on the screen it's time to shut face and let the scripting talk.

But not doing gamegrumps would have a VERY minimal effect, if any, on their schedule.
They said before they just film it for 3 hours or something once a week.

I disagree. They should keep talking during cutscenes, but pay more attention to them. Commenting on the cutscene for example is a good way of dealing with it, or having one of them talk and the other read.
Something like that. Cutscenes are not interesting and is not why I watch Gamegrumps, GG isn't about the games and as such cutscenes should never get the focus in Gamegrumps unless they are particularily interesting. Like You Don't Know Jack questions.
Why? No time or interest?
As far as movie quality and story goes, you're really missing out.
I've only seen A New Hope and one Indiana Jones movie thanks to my Music in Film class, and not a single terminator movie.
It's not due to no time or interest, but because lack of money and no fucking idea where to get them because itunes only has soundtracks for Star Wars, and I'm not sure about the other two but I got rid of itunes because of how much space it takes up. (There's Amazon and Ebay but I'm talking more about no shipping and waiting bullshit.)
The only blockbuster within several miles closed and Best Buy generally has newer movies instead of old ones.
