I just don't get why we can't all just sit down and play video games without complaint.

Media will be influenced by Anita to just shut them up. Like if I kept criticizing her for months on end, only for everything I say and do being ignored and ultimately shut up, I would just give up. Because then it's just a lost cause, you can deal with a stubborn asshole for soo long until you just leave them be and hope they get bitten in the ass later on.

I didn't go out of my way to keep her from doing the series because, frankly, she has any right to do so. However, when it gets to mainstream media and they try to push this certain narrative, I will comment (in a reasonable manner) and talk about it on twitter or other social media. I had several Google hangouts with various people from Facepunch and others, where I talked about Gamergate. You can find it on Youtube, they're called "Facepunching Gamergate". The reason I did them was simply because I was more than fed up with the way media outlets basically told their audience to fuck off.

Probly feels fucking great considering she's raking in that dough now because of it. She's basically famous for being 'the victim', complete with her own fans and high profile interviews.

Are there any fancy charts or stats to throw in the face of rabid SJW's when they question the idea that she has a financial interest in GG and FemFreq?

She lives off controversy, because it helps to make her even more popular. She wouldn't have gotten all the support/money today if it wasn't for all that controversy at the beginning. I wonder if she actually enjoys the police protection or she actually needs it.

Not only that but I would dare say that with how Anita acts that when asked for an interview or something else that would give her publicity she would also ask for a little money on the side to make it "Beneficial" for her appearance, since she's a "Professional Victim".

Has she done more than 25% of the FF episodes she promised to have done like two years ago? If not, why is she talking to a camera that isn't recording FemFreq episodes? Do any of her backers even care that she's dropped the ball so horribly? Conveniently, gamergate gives her a nice distraction that gets the blood boiling to forget about all that silly stuff. Except that Intel has announced it's giving FemFreq funding. When it was already funded several times over its target. It's a real shame that no real gaming-culture issues will get any legitimate discussion from both sides as long as Anita and her pals are involved in gamergate. It was about journalistic corruption, now it's about a few women standing on the top of a mountain of controversy for their own self-promotion, and if you want to start a pointless fight on tumblr or twitter it's about whatever you want to hate.

The Tropes vs. Women in Videogames series missed the original deadline for its last episode before even the first episode came out. They also missed the second deadline they placed after missing the first one. They eventually put up the first episode and at least one more has come out since then, but the series is still not finished. It could be a matter of poor management but it's not like they haven't gotten any more money since the kickstarter ended.

I wonder what the excuse will be now.

They're not ever gonna finish that series. I will give her a bit of benefit of the doubt since she's been doing a lot of travelling, but in 2014 it seems like she was in san fran for at least 3/4ths of the year; had she treated femfreq as a day job (which she should've with that kind of money), she should've been able to produce one episode a month.

I'm just sad that Anita didn't take a less-radical way into this sort of thing. If she had started simply talking about what we could change in games to make them more diverse, then nobody would be at each other's throats like we are now.

ABC's been deleting top rated comments with 2k+ likes, including TB's and, ironically, from women who are outspoken supporters of GG Everyone is suprised by this turn of events

Fuck I feel like a fool. I didn't make a stupid viral video in the 2006 times to get youtube money, I didn't start a le epic scream-team lets play channel around 2010, and I haven't made $150,000+ being a total phony on the internet while seeming like a sword wielding progressive hero to uninformed people.
