I've only seen the second Transformers movie, which I thought was one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. Were the movies after that any better?
Only slightly
far as i care the series' peak moment was the chopper Decepticon's assault on the US base in the first film and it's been going down from there
Mmmmmmnaaah
Its totally Unicron.
Big horn thing?
Toroidal maw?
The green electrical shit in the end sequence?
What confuses me is the toroidal maw was underwater.
plot-twist earth was unicron all along but sleepy
Wow i can't believe they ripped off dead space /s
Honestly going to watch it, even if people hate on these movies. They're good mindless action flicks
I have to disagree with this part in particular. These films aren't good. The story is garbage, the characters are uninteresting, and the action scenes are incomprehensible. Michael Bay's previous films weren't high art or anything, but they at least had likeable characters and decent action. The Bad Boys films don't have good stories but that doesn't matter because the characters are great together and the action scenes are more than a mess of whirling shapes.

It wasn't under water? Where'd you get that idea? It's pretty much Unicron, don't know why you guys are being weird and beating round the bush about it.

The area around the 2 very submersible looking craft is very hazy, and there are what appears to be bubbles scattered around them. It has a very "submerged" appearance.
Honestly the thing I'm excited about the most with this film is the toy line. Hope we get some Nazicons.

It's honestly too early to tell from the trailer, but I honestly think this is shaping up to be better than Age of Extinction, which I thought was bad, and that film split the movie fans apart. I fear though that if it does turn out to be good, its going to end up like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare; a good film with questionable sequels before it, but the hating bandwagon is too late to catch on and start ragging on this movie. There's already dumb and blind(or trolling) comments like this guy;

And a fuckton of Sensationalist Headlines on FB saying that Bee was killed in the trailer diminishing the film before it comes out even more.

Wasn't that a plot of an actual transformers story?
Wasn't that a plot of an actual transformers story?
Yep. [sp]Transformers Prime Season 1 finale. I actually liked that twist as it felt very new to the character while all the more threatening.[/sp]

I knew it sounded familiar, loved that series.

Except it was done by competent people who understand strengths and weaknesses of Transformers franchise.
Bay doesn't. At all.
Something I remembered while watching Age of Extiction in theaters; When Hound(John Goodman-bot) knifed one of the TF drones in the head, as he was dragging it away the CGI models clipped through real-life debris. How did that get past the production phase?
I still think TF1 was a 7/10, TF2 was a 2/10, TF3 was a 3/10, ive heard mixed on TF4 and it had dinobots so i'll guess it was probably a 4/10, maybe this'll be a 5/10 :v:
I noticed a lot of people on various forums were confused about Barricade making a return. Ya know, cause he's all dead and shit. The best explanation I can think of is that he'll show up in the WWII segments since he's been around for a while. It's actually really neat to see him return since he's one of my favorite characters from the films.

The first one was a good mindless action flick. The second was even more mindless and action-y and it suffered from that. The third was closer to the first, and actually had a decent plot for the most part. The fourth was just lacking in pretty much everything.

The last one had a fat ballerina that took scalps and slit throats.

Any Transformer not named Optimus Prime, Bumblebee or Megatron has less character than the blurb at the back of their toys.

That's not a character, unless you count one dimensional cliche as anything other than a gimmick.
what the hell is with the aspect ratio constantly changing.

Barricade? He was in the present and was riddled with bullets in TF3. I don't know how he surived, Boba Fett logic and all, but I like his over-the-top redesign.

Speaking of new looks, you can see the all new [sp]Megatron[/sp] in the HD trailer screencaps. A major improvement imo.

It's just the matter of time before we get SNATCHERS too.
it looked more like the remnants of cybertron to me.
also, it should be noted that while akiva goldsman has written some good screenplays, he also wrote batman & robin.
batman & robin is the single greatest super hero film on the planet
the dark knight trilogy literally can't even touch it
watch your mouth

iirc they used some new imax cameras for the film, could be that.
iirc they used some new imax cameras for the film, could be that.
Bay's rigged a pair of IMAX cameras into a stereoscopic pair for filming in IMAX3d, first rig of its kind to date.

I better see some damn Titans in this weird Battlefield 2142/Transformers crossover.
constant switching between different cameras i guess, this shit was extremely jarring for me in some of christopher nolans movies too
What you mean you didnt like when it cut from silky smooth pixels to "oh my god i can see every fucking pore in Aaron Eckharts face"?
Those two military dudes from the first three were like the only characters that I liked. At least the white one appears again.

Yeah they were actually okay because they did shit that wasnt forced.
Speaking of, why hasnt there been a live action GI Joe/Transformers crossover yet? With how both franchises have been going in the movie department you'd think it'd be a natural thing to do.
