In person, he's a lot more agreeable, but with his writing and a lot of the time in his podcast, he tells everyone to fuck off. I mean, people should voice some reasonable discontent, but past that is just going to be fuel for his persona. He has hate-mail segments on his site and YouTube channel for a reason, after all.

I haven't heard him speak once with sincerity when regarding any of the dozens of problems he's brought up on his podcast (and even his youtube channel). He made a video about how everyone that loves pepperoni should die and are a waste of human anatomy. People that take him seriously and genuinely get upset at him (itt lol) are more retarded than the character he's portraying.

This is his STANDARD content. This is not different from what he's always done. But when it's about you, and the content you love, sometimes people get offended by that. It would seem to me, that people here are taking this way more seriously than his normal bits because they think it's about them and their hobby. It's ridiculous. People, like myself who love video games, listened to this and laughed and enjoyed it, even though he targeted my hobby with his entirely usual shtick. He did nothing here that he hasn't done before and if anyone's laughed at his shit before, they should ask themselves why they're butthurt enough to be bothered by this particular work. This guy is not the king of funny or anything, but I'm just saying he's been consistent and now that a popular hobby of users here is under fire for a moment, people react poorly IMO.

I tangentially agree with Maddox, but not completely. Stories are like graphics. A good game is a good game, but nice looking graphics enhance my enjoyment. Shit graphics can sometimes take away from my enjoyment. Same with story. A good game is a good game, but an interesting enough story and character babble and depth make me a bit more invested in the game. Deus Ex is a fun game, but the cheesy b-movie story and voice acting make it more interesting, more memorable. It has more charm and character because of its setting and story. But otherwise, yeah. He doesn't like stories in games. I get that. That's not a bad opinion.

I think it's a misfire and I think people are taking it too seriously. If you think it was funny, cool! If you don't think it's funny, I wouldn't argue you're stupid or anything, but the intent of the joke wasn't very literal. If it's really the straw that broke the camel's back for you, that's okay too. I was just trying to explain what the joke was most likely trying to do (and that he's currently having a hoot about the whole thing), not literally argue how effective it was or that people are lesser for dissing on it.
