Lock your mother and your dog in the bathroom for 3 days and see which one would be happy to see you.
My dog. My mom is never happy to see me.
This thread is starting to depress me. It made me realize that no one will ever love me, and even if I get a dog, it will probably love me then dies 10 years later. :frown: Excuse me while I rate myself with a heart to make myself feel better. :frown:
I feel bad for you and whatever, but can you please keep the depressing posts to a lower level? I understand, but you should get a dog. That sounded dickish, sorry. I love my dog and she was around for me when not very many others were.
Man that guy sure has a lot of dogs. Still prefer cats over dogs though. Don't know why, I just like them better.
And some people says that cats are better...
They are. Every day I came home from primary school many years ago, my cat would hear me open the gate, jump up ontop of the sofa and watch me walk to the door, I open it and see my cat would looking up meowing frantically, I pick her up and she purs like a boss. If I was out all day playing sports or whatever, I'd come home and sleep on the sofa, when I wake up my cat would be cuddled up on my chest purring. <3 dat cat I don't really like dogs, but the first dog was cute in the video.
Well, an animal with no real emotions is your friend? That's not good.
"Herp derp I know nothing about animal behavior and am repeating what I heard from my fucking bio teacher herp derp." Animals have been WELL documented as having feelings. How do we know this? Some of them fucking TELL US. Alex the African gray parrot was able to convey want, happiness, fright and the like through literal speech in (broken) English. Coco the Gorilla was able to convey sorrow through sign language. And these are just the ones who are capable of speech! Many animals (such as elephants) go through a mourning period when another close animal dies. Some animals (such as cockatoos) are able to convey joy through dance, and this is only the concrete stuff that we can pin down as innate to the species itself. Then let's not forget the fact that YOU ARE YOURSELF AN ANIMAL, just because you can walk on two legs (which all birds, bears, apes, and various other animals can do can do), speak (which as I've mentioned before some animals can do), and think using problem solving and new environments (which ravens and dolphins have show to have been able to do) it does NOT mean you are not a part of the animal kingdom buddy. Get off your fucking high horse.

I just hate this assumption that animals don't have feelings because we have feelings and humans have to be special and have something that the rest of the animal kingdom doesn't have. Humans are special because we're the smartest thing on earth, isn't that enough? Also, ignore the grammatical mistakes in my other post, I'm a wee bit tipsy.
My dog does this if i'm out more than a few hours, it feels so good coming home to him, he makes the cutest noises.
I grew up with a cat and a dog. I would say that cats don't really care about love and all that stuff as much as dogs do, they just want to survive. They won't do tricks because they don't really need or want to do them. (some cats do tricks though, I've seen it on a few shows in amusement parks) Cats go out and catch mice and eat them. They are more self dependent. While if a dog goes outside he's most likely to get lost and starve to death. Our dog escaped a few times when the door was opened. I'm guessing he did this because he's curious or something but when we found him he was happy to see us. My cat was playful in his first few years, but then he got old and moved on to sleeping and eating. He did come to me and start cuddling a few times a lot and not because he wanted food. (sometimes it was after I gave him food) Dogs are more about love Cats are more about survival, they don't really care that much about love That's my experience, and I know all cats and dogs are different. I'm always amazed by how another cat is completely different than my cat. Same with dogs too. When I go home to my parents our dog is always crazy about seeing me, but my cat is more like "sup, long time no see" [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] I had another cat which I don't remember much of, but when this cat visited my grandparents who had a golden retriever, the dog was "scared" of him. The cat was in charge kind of. I saw some pictures of them walking together in the forest with my parents and grandparents. This is also strange, that this cat followed them around from 2 hours away with a car in a forest and didn't run away. I can't imagine my cat doing this at all. also holy shit at the second dog, he's very excited made me laugh out really loud
This is what my dog does when I get back from Uni. :buddy:
Dogs. Are. Awesome.
The dogs probably humped the soldiers more than their wives.
 [editline]17th November 2010[/editline] I wish I had a dog. A Border Collie to be precise. :sigh:
Cats are assholes.
Cats are not assholes, depends on the cat.
I love cats and dogs so much :3:.
This is part of the reason I can't stand to hear about dog abuse, because even if you whip your dog there's a good chance it's going to try and come back to you, wagging its tail. It's exploitation of that blind, total love that just gets me upset.
Our old cat would meow and roll on the floor whenever my brother and I came home from school. Our new cat likes to sleep all day and sometimes he'll hump my leg like he's doing right now. Still love him tho :3:
You should. A human could never love you as much.
You'd rather be loved by a borderline retarded animal than another human being?
You'd rather be loved than a borderline retarded animal than another human being?
He's not choosing between the two, just stating that humans don't have as much potential to love you as much as a dog would.
He's not choosing between the two, just stating that humans don't have as much potential to love you as much as a dog would.
Blind, ignorant love perhaps. I'd much rather be admired by someone of intelligence.
Blind, ignorant love perhaps. I'd much rather be admired by someone of intelligence.
Love is love. A dog won't break your heart at least.
Love is love. A dog won't break your heart at least.
Except when it dies.
