Not that I know anything on the subject, but if they have long term mates then it doesn't seem hard to imagine that they would have an infatuation toward their mate, and a feeling of ownership, and thus a possible feeling of jealousy in an event like this?
tbh i don't really know for certain. Jealousy could play into it, but based on what i know about penguins (which isn't much), the husband seems to feel threatened at the chance of losing the family he's helped raised, and doesn't beat the homewrecker out of anger or anything like that, but rather at a shot of proving his worth and redeeming himself. You'd probably get a better answer from someone who studies this shit, though.
Man Pingu didn't teach me this shit.

I'd say he won that fight, that other penguin looks like his face got fucked up
damn, that penguin was metal as fuck. he did not give up until he had no other option for survival note to self: don't piss off a penguin
she's hot af though
That home wrecker penguin is a fucking asshole. Steals his woman AND his kids
Actually I'm pretty sure he'll just leave the kids to die. That's just how nature works unfortunately. The prime directive of life is to pass on your genes, so why would you put in the time and effort to raise children that wouldn't do that? It's different in Human society because we have higher ideals than just passing on genes, but this is just what happens in nature.
I'd say he won that fight, that other penguin looks like his face got fucked up
to looks like all that blood is the homewrecker's from gouging out his eyes.

Penguins mate for life I think also, don't have a source but I'm pretty sure i've read that more than a few times. edit: Magellanic penguins are monogamous.
what a bitch that woman was
Aw man, that hit me right in the chest. Every time he'd cry out for her and she'd nuzzle up against the scumbag penguin. Heart goes out to the little guy.

Afterwards the male and female stand in a pose that symbolizes "heart figure" in front of each other, to tell the others they've already chosen; but that's just one penguin specie. Other species collect stones to show of their worth. After the mating, the females go for fish hunt at the edge of the pole. The males have to keep protecting the eggs under their bodies for weeks, while slowly walking over 200 miles in extreme colds like -50 celcius. They group in hundreds to share body warmth, and exchange positions in turns for warmth. Just a tiny mistake will cause the egg to die by the cold. In the end of their journey they meet up with the females that has stored the fish in their body storage for the male and mostly the child. The females always has to force the males to leave their children (sometimes even eggs) into their care, because they don't want it to die, even though it's okay for the moment, but the child must have nutrition. Afterwards they partner up for a very long time until it's time to mate with others. Now when the eggs has hatched the children only has a few hours until they have to move out in the cold as well, wandering the ice cold abyss with the each others. Sometimes the storms are so tense they get lost because their eyes get frozen.
some penguins, if they dont find a mate during mating season, walk out into the abyss to kill themselves
thats what i do when i get no matches on tinder
Was looking at more Penguin videos and found this, holy shit they can be really emotional.
Losing the love of your life as a penguin isn't really that bad considering they all look the same anyway.
Losing the love of your life as a penguin isn't really that bad considering they all look the same anyway.
everywhere I go I see my ex
Losing the love of your life as a penguin isn't really that bad considering they all look the same anyway.
If a female loses her child, they run after the others that has been lost by their parents, just to 'adopt' them as their own. The females fight for them very aggresively, so it could end up killing the child. The children that lost their parents try to search for other mothers, but if they already have a kid, they reject them. The rejected ones either gets adopted, die in the cold alone, or get eaten by predators. related https://youtu.be/BW2FB-V-C7M?t=1m26s
This is the most metal thing I've seen penguins get up to. And, needless to say, the most brutal.
Why the fuck did i read this thread before going on a night out, i'm so depressed now.
Why the fuck did i read this thread before going on a night out, i'm so depressed now.
Mating is serious business, mate.
'Sup fags, my name is Ted, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day looking at stupid ass icebergs. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten any cloaca? I mean, I guess it’s fun making fun of people because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. You are all faggots who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for listening. I thought penguins are funny little cold birds that can't fly. This is so brutal and depressing
Penguins confirmed to be fucking brutal. I mean, that was some serious damage being dished out, even trying to gouge out eyes.
Looking through all of these videos makes me wonder how complex the mind of a creature of the wild is. There's sleep, eat, screw, hunt, hide, attract females, but there seems to be something more than that.
