kinda makes me want a Fallout game from Rockstar
Rockstar could make a new version of most games and they'd be great,
Was expecting them to show a bit more honestly other than just pretty scenes
Just like the first trailers for both GTA V and GTA IV. They love to show us the setting first before going into gameplay stuff.
welp, time to shit and scream all over the place to get the pc version soon
I really hope for a huge multiplayer world like that of GTA Online.
Looking forward to playing it when it comes out on PC in 2019 or 2020
it's high noon
It's nice that there's a new Red Dead game, but calling this "Red Dead Redemption 2" is like calling the next Half-Life "Half-Life 2 2"
It's nice that there's a new Red Dead game, but calling this "Red Dead Redemption 2" is like calling the next Half-Life "Half-Life 2 2"
No it's not. Do you see a number in "Red Dead Redemption"?
Just let me cum already, Rockstar! Stop teasing me!
I like to think of it like this: Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Same series, but one is a spin off with its own sequels. Red Dead. Red Dead Revolver. Red Dead Redemption.
It's nice that there's a new Red Dead game, but calling this "Red Dead Redemption 2" is like calling the next Half-Life "Half-Life 2 2"
It's like calling a sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2! Or Black Ops sequel called Black Ops 2!
It's nice that there's a new Red Dead game, but calling this "Red Dead Redemption 2" is like calling the next Half-Life "Half-Life 2 2"
"Redemption" is a subtitle, or how do you call that. It is more like Half Life 2 Episode 1 and Half Life 2 Episode 2.
I like to think of it like this: Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Same series, but one is a spin off with its own sequels. Red Dead. Red Dead Revolver. Red Dead Redemption.
It also looks like the story is related to Redemption and not Revolver, so the name makes sense.
They're probably taking the same route with the canon as they did with GTA, separating the 3D and HD universes.
They're probably taking the same route with the canon as they did with GTA, separating the 3D and HD universes.
What route? The only Red Dead canon there is, is Red Dead Redemption and this appears to be in the same canon.
Its a pre/sequel to the Redemption series, calling it anything other than RDR 2 would be actually dumb
I don't think the game is going to look like that. Grass draw distance was basically infinite, there's no way that's coming in the actual release
I don't think the game is going to look like that. Grass draw distance was basically infinite, there's no way that's coming in the actual release
Rockstar don't usually do that kind of thing though, so I'll trust them with this. Think it's funny if you want but I know how Rockstar operates.
I don't think the game is going to look like that. Grass draw distance was basically infinite, there's no way that's coming in the actual release
The part where they're all riding away near the end looks like it's been doctored with editing software. The dust looks too real to be an ingame effect, especially if it's gonna be on consoles. Not even The Witcher 3 had dust that looked that good, and it's goddamn beautiful. There's some other effects that look too good to be true in a console setting, unless they're locking it to 30fps as usual and ramping the visuals up. Which I'd be sorta OK with as RDR is more of a slower paced game that's supposed to look great, and isn't as focused on extremely fast twitch action like an FPS. If we're lucky, it could be the PC version that they'll announce right before the console versions launch, then we'll get a year of waiting so they can double dip on sales like with GTAV.
No way some of those effects are going to make it to the final product, did you see that smoke from the train? Looks way too expensive for it to be real
The trailer was recorded on PS4. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/10/20/red-dead-redemption-2-playstation-and-rockstar-games-announce-partnership/
imagine if the next game in the series after this is red dead revolver 2
Adding numbers to denote sequels is so lame. They could have taken any one of the thousands of words that begin with "R" for the third word following "Red Dead". It would have been a nice little quirk for a growing series. Besides that complaint, I hope the online has everything that's good about GTAO and all the cool stuff from Redemption's online combined. Also if there's Undead Nightmare 2 DLC, that shit better have more online modes than a single wave survival mode. I want to freeroam with my homies, capping zombies while each of us ride one of the 4 horses of the Apocalypse.

Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption aren't really linked but they're part of the same series, like what DarklyTheGreat mentioned with CoD. In this case I'm guessing that Redemption 2 is linked to the story of Redemption in some way but doesn't distance itself enough to warrant getting its own title. or I could be wrong and they came up with a stupid name
No way some of those effects are going to make it to the final product, did you see that smoke from the train? Looks way too expensive for it to be real
Keep in mind that it's gonna be a 2017 game, so you never know. I don't think we've had a truly photorealistic title this year, so the last ones we've seen (like Witcher 3) are from 2015. Not to mention, Rockstar trailers tend to get better graphics as they get closer to release, just watch the first GTAV reveal. People thought it was pre-rendered back then too :v:
What route? The only Red Dead canon there is, is Red Dead Redemption and this appears to be in the same canon.
Yeah I guess Revolver was just a figment of our collective imagination.
Yeah I guess Revolver was just a figment of our collective imagination.
Well Red Dead Redemption had zero connections to Revolver so I think it's safe to say Revolver doesn't exist in the current canon.
Rockstar is pretty good with particles though. I mean, at least imo, GTA IV's fire particles looked really damn cool. Besides, they're no longer hindered by last gen consoles. I'm sure we can handle the grass distance with enough lods n shit.
Pretty boring trailer... Hope they'll follow up soon.
Adding numbers to denote sequels is so lame.
I don't get this complaint at all. RDR2 is a sequel to RDR, so it gets a number, like all sequels - I thought it was the alternatives that were lame? Like removing the number or adding some cheesy subtitle? Besides, isn't it much more neat that we get to refer to them as RDR and RDR2?
