I really like how they show characters under the pilots masks. I don't really like how they look as they don't give off a very "elite fighter" feeling, but I like to see them being depicted as actual people instead of faceless nobodies that should be killed just because they're ordered to defend their station.

Han Solo was a TIE fighter pilot.

Most of the rebel pilots were Imperial flunkies or former smugglers (who were usually also Imperial flunkies.)

There's nothing wrong with it being Anime styled. If this was an actual series i'd watch it, it looks really nice. Would be much better than the current Star wars tv-shows.
