That's a hell of a song to put in a Pixar movie.
These stories about anthropomorphic versions of emotions and whatnot running a person's mind like a ship rub me the wrong way. Like, the idea that a person is not so much a person as a thing ran by smaller creatures. It's all too bizarre a concept for me, really.
well, besides the whole... anthropomorphic thing, it's kinda true
I'm hyped :D Can't wait to see this, getting tickets as soon as it hits theaters!
Eh, I've always sorta liked this concept. I remember Teen Titans did something like this once.
Honestly the idea is a brilliant one ..meeting those little voices inside you head could be an amazing film The execution however looks awful ..like...this is gonna suck harder than episode 1 of star wars type of suck Get yo shit together pixar! redesigns! redesigns everywhere!
I'm not judging the film yet, but this teaser sucked. Like someone else said, it feels like Pixar has deconstructed their own formula here. It seems too meta or something. The design of the emotion characters kind of hurt my eyes to look at. (I think it's the mix of glitter sparkly hair and strange furry body texture) Also, why are all of he emotions negative emotions and only one positive emotion? Seems like a depressing movie. I have to say though, I love the design of the human characters. I want to learn more about their situation, but so far the emotion characters are all presented as being pretty obnoxious. Edit: Actually I just realized, having human like characters represent singular timeless emotions is completely paradoxical in nature. Are these characters going to be the most 1-dimensional characters of all time? Or are each of them going to learn and grow as characters through the story and change? (Which can't work, because they each represent singular timeless emotions.) So that means that the emotion characters can't be the main characters of the movie, or else the movie would not make any sense. So they have the human characters there to give the audience something to connect to. Which means the story has to be about them, so then why even have the emotion characters there in the first place? Now I'm just confused. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That should be a character: Confused.
terrible at least the trailer is terrible
Kinda disappointed. Been waiting for this for years, when it was described as delving into the processes of the human body, specifically the mind. That would've been a great thing for Pixar to focus on. But no, we get some moving-house emotion thing
Kinda disappointed. Been waiting for this for years, when it was described as delving into the processes of the human body
We're gonna delve into the colon
do emotions have emotions? how does an emotion interact with another? do they meld into the new, respective combination? (joy + sadness = neutral; joy + fear = surprise; sadness + anger = disappointed) if so, when they all hug, is it like some sort of acid trip moment of self realization alternatively, joy is actually not nearly as extreme of a caricature as the rest seem to be (sadness is like suicidal looking and angry looks ready to wreck your shit) this is meta snow white with less characters. but it is disney/pixar; they can make it work, i have faith.
Also, why are all of he emotions negative emotions and only one positive emotion? Seems like a depressing movie.
this idea that certain emotions can only be good or bad is kinda silly
Hows the idea of toys being "alive" brilliant but this idea is mediocre? I think this could turn into something good. Only time will tell
When over half or the trailer is not footage from the actual film it's advertising it's time to stop.
The idea is good, but knowing movies about teens with emotions, we'll get 90 minutes of the main character complaining alot. So yeah not my movie, sorry Lewis.
I like it
Am I the only one who thinks the concept is really, really cool? I haven't seen anything quite like it. Plus, Amy Poehler and Lewis Black are in it. That's gotta count for something. I'm keeping my eye on this one.
I think the concept sounds like ones that feel like you've heard a millions times before even when you hear it for the first time, not even counting that one Simpson's gag. [editline]3rd October 2014[/editline]
this idea that certain emotions can only be good or bad is kinda silly
No, shut up. They told Data that in that one episode, and then Lore reprogrammed him to feel only negative emotions, and boy were they eating crow then.
Hows the idea of toys being "alive" brilliant but this idea is mediocre? I think this could turn into something good. Only time will tell
People are probably a bit lukewarm about pixar after all the movies about sentient motorized vehicles.
