I feel so much for the guy.
In Texas its illegal for anti-vaxxers to go to school. They must be homeschooled or go to a private school that accepts anti-vaxxed kids (good luck) And then people tell me Texas is backwards

This dude could make a living out of ranting about shit. He kept it going for quite a while with pretty much little to no breaks. Impressive, to say the least.
The idea is pretty common that the ultra wealthy elite are shitty people who look so hard down on the poor that they see base classes as problems/threats to their livelihood and would rather let them die off than continue to gain political traction. (notably all that "the 1%" talk over the past while now) so basically, he thinks the concept of anti-vaxxing wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for people (with an agenda against dumb uninformed masses) intentionally stirring shit by spreading misinformation regardless of who genuinely got the snowball rolling, fucking ridiculous mass panic style misinformation becomes self-replicating pretty damn fast among the mass-panicky stupid people who don't care to accept facts when there's some non-existent potential they could be right to go off of that youtube guy mentioned a few posts up, biological weapons are banned, yes. Unfortunately by not protecting yourself against massive killer risks and acting like you're invincible if you avoid 'unnatural' medicines, and you continue to go out into the world, you're pretty much running the risk of turning yourself into biological suicide bomber without knowing you're spreading disease until it creeps up behind you down the line
Wouldn't it be funny if russia weaponized smallpox? Because that would be a terrible thing, having them secretly release it into the U.S. population as a form of retaliation for whatever they don't like.
I am so glad the anti-anti-vaxxer movement is exploding like it is Pretty soon anti-vaxxers will go away I feel.
Most likely an anti-vaxxer would just get even more defensive about their position.
Call it anecdotal but the only negative I ever got from a vaccine was that I got one of those huge groupings (5 at once) and I just felt shitty for a week. I do feel that a huge number at vaccines at a single time could pose the risk of only one disease being combatted as your body is desperate to focus on a single target, I have no idea though, I'm no doctor.
To those dumbing this, I mean just simply spread them out, not a lot at once. Have 2-3 appointments set up over the period of a couple weeks, each one with a regimen of shots. Jesus you guys act like I'm saying "yeah but it's not worth it"
Do Anti-Vaxxers even know what Autism is? 80% of the time people with Autism still live happy, normal, lives, the severity of Autism isn't really that hindering, and the people with Autism that can't function in society most likely have most of the blame on that on the parents who refuse to treat them like a human being. They argue that you're 'better off dead than Autistic" and that's just... disgusting.
Wish my father was like this guy. My parents didn't vaccinate me and I'm ok so far but holy shit I'm scared of getting something serious. I can't get vaccines in my situation at all, shit fucking sucks.

They argue that you're 'better off dead than Autistic" and that's just... disgusting.
As a person who has been diagnosed to be on the Autism Spectrum, I can pretty much vouch for this. We don't really struggle that badly, I mean we have our social quirks that can hinder us -- but the extent isn't awful. Being autistic isn't this horrendous thing you can never recover from, it's just a lack of social skills (and maybe a few other things like fine motor skills) that you can get a professional to help you out on. In fact, it should be more of a blessing if anything. Sure, it might be slightly more difficult to raise a child, but if you have a child in the first place, that's a commitment you're making. The anti-vaxxers don't really know what autism does. It's not just this one life-destroying disease, it's a mental disorder that you can help negate through rigorous therapy. It takes years to do it, mind you, it took me at least six or seven years for me to improve upon my fine motor skills, but that's still recovery. What these anti-vaxxers are making that argument for is just baseless conjecture; they have no base of argument, ergo they resort to pretty stupid points that make next to no sense. Seriously, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
but the cause of the problem concerning autism is the lack of understanding, and good fucking luck trying to educate ignorant twats [editline]11th February 2015[/editline] I'm 20 years now and I still suffer from anxieties sometimes, though I'm not sure if that stems from my personality or my asperger's syndrome shit like 'aspies' totally doesn't help improve our situation either

1/35 children dying is actually a really high number of deaths when I say really high, I mean a 1/35 death rate basically amounts to millions of children if you actually think that that is ok you are totally fucked in the head [editline]12th February 2015[/editline] someone here can do that math here I'm sure what is 1/35th of the US's entire child population alone? [editline]12th February 2015[/editline] Honestly though I'm not that worried about anti vaxxers effecting my personal health why? I'll be vaccinated and they wont be. Now, I am 100% concerned that it will effect the whole of society (and it WILL). But if you're vaccinated and they get the disease, you will not. If it becomes an epidemic, people who are unvaccinated will pretty much die because of their choice. I am, however, terrified that if I get an auto immune disease / HIV / Cancer and can't fight against these diseases or even be vaccinated, my life will pretty much be fucking ruined by these people.
So that person literally had said that 8751849 dying isn't that big of a deal
I've always been bad at math but being able to reason isn't a problem. Not the same can be said for that person.
So they are literally worse than Hitler?
Possibly. I don't think it's unknown that the true greater evil isn't being evil but being ignorant.
So they are literally worse than Hitler?
1.5 Hitlers, according to the SI unit.
I AM NOT DEFENDING ANTI VAXXERS But that assumes all 300,000,000 are children and that simply isn't true. [editline]12th February 2015[/editline] I think the estimate is ~70m children in the US. This gives us 2,000,000. [editline]12th February 2015[/editline] Which is still fucking insane.
This is one of the more reasonable anti-vaccination arguments (and the only legitimate one). A surprising amount of people are allergic to vaccine filler (but antivaxxers rarely ever bring it up in favor of AUTISM, which unlike filler allergy isn't real lol), and my step-sister lost the use of her legs from one for a while, but even then I'd almost go as far as to support mandated vaccination because public health is just kind of more important. Maybe that makes me an asshole. Most allergies are from underexposure to toxins leaving the immune system mistrained or untrained as to what's good and what's bad. In my opinion, the more people we get vaccinated, the less will be allergic to vaccines, because the more people will have immune systems trained to handle them.
The idea is that if you can, you should take them. There are people who cant take vaccines for a number or reasons, including other pre-existing conditions like AIDS or many cancers. But there's a thing called herd immunity, if even 90 percent of people are vaccinated and 10 percent cannot take them, those 10 percent will be protected from the disease just because the people around them have a vastly reduced chance to get sick. And vaccines aren't even sure bets either, but the numbers needed to treat are absurdly low to the point that it's one of the most effective kind of medicines we've developed to date.
I love how vaccinated people are making the decision to noy vaccinate their children. I mean that's complete bullshit: if you and everyone didn't get fucked up by vaccines, then why do you think your kids will? I normally don't join in on these hot debates, but this rustles my jimmies because the anti vaccinaters are just fucking dumb and they're basically fine with killing children, which isn't okay. They literally have no argument for not vaccinating their kids.

Better not risk it."
