I don't know anything about Warhammer 40k - Revscarecrow - General

I learned my lore from that "What if the Emperor had Text-to-speech" series. Don't even do W40k, but the lore is very interesting :v

Also the galaxy would be pretty well fucked if the Tau took over because they have little to no ability to deal with Chaos considering the Ethereals outright claim it doesn't exist.

And since Chaos is powered by people believing in it, surely saying it doesn't exist is the only true way to get rid of it?

The only way to destroy chaos is to utterly destroy everything with any connection to the warp, namely humanity. The Emperor largely did the same thing as the Ethereals during the Great Crusade and that didn't exactly turn out well. The only real difference in this case is the Tau's very minimal connection to the warp.
