a waste of space
so you're complaining about the people who ride bikes around YOU, not bikers in general
i'm sorry you live in a shit place where bikers don't respect you but don't throw everyone else under the bus (or in this case asshole tailgaiters)
Cyclists traveling at 30MPH? Do they have jet engines attached to their bikes where you're from?
Where I drive they'll rarely go above 20MPH, there's also a lot of hills which slows them down to about 5MPH. Also I'm giving my experience with busy country roads, I understand that things would be different in a city.
I'll reiterate, my biggest problem with cyclists is that they show no respect to other road users. If they must cycle on the road then why don't they pull in now and again and walk their bicycles uphill?
I'm really surprised someone as immature as you has a license.
Everybody hates it when someone rides a bike in the street. They go slower than your car, and it's awkward to drive around them.
You know it to be true. I bet you all swear to yourselves whenever someone on a bicycle is slowing you down. There's no need to deny it.
He was going as fast as the others.
Edit: And in my city there are a lot of bikes, and often do go very slow compared to traffic. Like going 25 in a 50. So I just do my best to change lanes around them. It's not optimal.
there's a fucking sidewalk right there. while that in no way excuses this asshole tailgater bikes really don't belong on the road.
Bikes are considered vehicles because they are a form of transportation.
I'm getting sick of chucklefucks like you always blaming a cyclist. Hey, I know a good idea, let's let a vehicle that can reach speeds of 30 mph or more on the sidewalk! What could possibly go wrong!?
My dad and I lost a really good family friend because some asshole plowed through him and a group of his friends while riding their bikes. And knowing people like you would instantly drop blame on the cyclists instead makes me want to ring your fucking neck.
As a Dutch person, I can tell you that you guys need to stop hating on bicycles. The Netherlands is a very small country with 17 million citizens, and our cities were as bad as NYC is now with cars. To deal with this growing problem we changed all our cities to bicycle cities and added bicycle lanes everywhere (There was also the oil crisis in the 70's). This also greatly prevented the pollution problem. I mean just look at the air pollution problem in Hong Kong, do you really want to go that way?
It surprises me that not more countries are encouraging people to use bicycles instead of cars. It's cheaper, healthier, better for the enviroment and much more practical, as opposed constantly clogging up the roads with cars.
Cars are great for long distances and what not and I know using bicycles won't solve everything, but it's a good start. I can't imagine what The Netherlands would be like without them.

I once turned a corner on the sidewalk and nearly got rammed by some bitch riding down the sidewalk at full speed on her bike. Bikes never belong on the sidewalk unless there's absolutely no other place for them to go, and if so you get off and fucking pull it. The sidewalk is, in most cases, exclusively for foot traffic. Anyone who rides their bike on the sidewalk, without good reason, is a massive prick.

My city put in shitloads of bikelanes, miles of it, a few monthd ago, it's awesome.
it's fucking illegal to ride your bike on a sidewalk in the city
didn't know that. either way i still feel the sidewalk is a safer place for bikes to be because there aren't numerous, high speed chunks of steel weighing several tons going up and down it
and this doesn't counter-excuse the dude for nearly running a bicyclist over.
i said that read my post

Come to the netherlands and say that in public. I'll give you 5 seconds before you're ass gets handed to you.
