I don't understand why he makes a big deal about a lot of the bad points that the PS4 had as well, or things that are still unconfirmed rumours. I'm not supporting the next generation of consoles, but this guy does a big song and dance for nothing.
when i bout my xbox it was because nobody i knew owned a ps3 and me and my friends all share games because we all have xbox. but now i think i'll take my money and buy a neo geo.
Apparently, I am one of few on FP who is going to get a Xbox One. It's funny that in the real world, I know so many people who are stoked for the Xbox One. Guess I should stick to the real world huh. And it is fortunate for MS that most of it's money is not reliant on the people of FP. Now matter how much the people here think it is.
Jesus christ, if you hate us so much just leave already.
there was no reason from the start to buy the new xbox considering how cherry the ps4 looks... this is just nails in the fucking coffin. my only hope is that sony doesn't pull any of this bullshit. [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] also xbox fanboys who rely on gamefly (3 games at a time for like 30 bucks a month, use it wisely you save shitloads, and you can buy at discounted prices) are fucked. [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] dunno why you don't have gamefly if you can afford it.
I think a lot of people here just want to bitch about something. Funny how irrelevant they are. There's always going to be people how don't like it, and people who do. Why in the hell do you guys care so goddamn much to argue about it? It's so pointless and irrelevant to your life (unless your whole life revolves around video games). Quit bitching and move on with your life. If you don't like it, build your own goddamn system.
Oh my, did you intentionally want to say the most pretentious and ignorant thing possible? Did you even read over what you just now said?
also even though joe can be a giant fucking Ham with his little skits i love the guy. especially the rants like this that are on the spot.

You just described how everyone is entitled to an opinion to like/dislike it yet you're complaining about people posting their own opinions. If anyone's bitching in this thread it's you.
are you serious [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] really [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] exactly they are your opinions you have the minority opinion we have the majority ie to us your opinion is wrong
you are in the majority of a very small minority lol
let's look at FP as a consumer. The guys that usually only play PC games but maybe own a console to play a game or two here or there. The type that will not buy a kinect, the type that doesn't have children, the type that does not have an actual reasonably disposable income. you are, say, 5% of the xbox's market? You may be 50% to ONE publisher that makes a type of game specifically for you! BUT to the xbox? You're nothing. You're a vocal minority. Proof? Just look at games sales numbers. CoD and Madden DWARF any "hardcore" title, so why would they try to appeal to the hardcore, the hardcore audience that is not in any way growing any typically buys the consoles despite their complaints? The point I'm making it that this press conference is not for you. they are not showing the hardcore games because the people they care about watching this are not hardcore gamers. they care about the stockholders with families and millions invested that just want to know the real "zingers" and "bullet points" and that's it.
Your view is valid and is definitely true. One thing to consider is that a big part of keeping shareholders/stockholders actually invested in a company, the executive needs to ensure that they're doing a good enough job to increase company equity, and will be able to pay out dividends substantial enough to keep the intrigue of their shareholders. Otherwise, it might just go bottoms up. Since the internet has ballooned to a point where things going viral can cause metaphorical "shockwaves" around the world (generally speaking), having a vocal minority can do wonders to the rep (and futures) of Microsoft's gaming sector.
this dude has getting mad about trivial shit down to an art
That sounds kind of ironic coming from you. welcome back
you are in the majority of a very small minority lol
It's too early to determine that. So far, pretty much everywhere I look has the majority of comments absolutely trashing the Xbox One's reveal, but it's also only been 12 hours since the announcements.
I'm just going to put this here for the sake of putting it here. I feel like Microsoft is trying to make an all-in-one device. Which is okay, but honestly, it's completely off the mark of the purpose of an Xbox in the first place. Xbox was meant to play games and have fun. Simple as that, but now it's got all these features and extra add-ons that it feels more like it's own little store in a box. You have to pay to do anything on it from what I hear... This could be just me, but it really does sound like a pitiful console. I wonder if they have anything that'll save them at E3. E3 is mostly gaming, so maybe they'll reveal some of the gaming features or something like that. EDIT: They really should just change the name of the new Xbox to something else. It just doesn't feel like an Xbox anymore...

[editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] the fact is most people who will be buying an xbox couldn't care less about the majority of the things being complained about here, and would be very very excited to hear about some of this ESPN/Skype integration etc
I always used to bring like Mortal Kombat 9 or other fighter games to my friends house so we could play 2v2. And I can't do that anymore with new games on the new console? Jesus, no fucking way I'm going to pay for a downgrade, not to mention, this "TV Entertainment central" thing seems to be focused for NA or something, because I barely watch any TV at all here in Finland.

GAMING! THEY ONLY TALKED ABOUT ONE GAME. Their main focus was media and social integration. The PS4 has had many interviews about how they're making it easier for indie developers to be engaged in a more budget-friendly way, how the new controller was designed by multiple game developer opinions, the new games that are being developed for it along with actual previews and demos, and what they are just trying to do as a whole for the whole GAMING experience. Microsoft just sticks in a corner and thinks everyone is just wondering, "Oooh, what about the Xbox?" Then comes the reveal, and what is it? A whole lot of nothing. They talk about your T.V. watching experience. Then they try to hinder your gaming experience with this atrocious DRM. It's just a big disappointment. I'd say the majority of people who buy consoles buy it to play games on it. People want all their options available to them and if someone goes, "Well, I might want to borrow a game from a friend one day so I don't want to be hindered by that no used-game thing. I'll stick with the PS4." The only positive I took from that reveal was a Skype integration. Yay. PS4 doesn't have to do much to one-up the Xbox though.
i know right if it was for the stockholders why was the press there? and it was a response to the ps4's announcement right?
Microsoft really made it easy for Sony this time.
He was pretty spot on, I have to admit.

Not that hard considering most people don't read up about it, but those same people will probably be asking me what I think about the announcement and I'm sure a lot of people are the "tech guy" for friends and family and co-workers so yeah, I can see their sales being influenced quite a bit by the "enthusiast user" which really only accounts for 5-10%. Enjoy your pay to play console with no games (Star Wars Kinect 2.0 doesn't count). Joke's on you for buying it.
I pretty much agree with everything he said but people shouldn't be so angry about the lack of backward compatibility. It would be a nice feature but when the new console's architecture isn't the same as the old one's it gets pretty difficult/expensive to implement. And I'm no console expert, but backward compatibility is quite a new thing and never was a core feature of consoles. The only backward compatible consoles are the Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, PS2 and some old PS3s.

Read all of my posts. I'll say once more, this keynote, this conference, it was not for you, it was for people that WANT the xbox to expand to do more things to appeal to a larger audience, for it to become MORE than a gaming console. [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] another interesting point from a japanese observer: "They [Microsoft] are not looking at Sony or Nintendo, but are frantically coming up with countermeasures for Apple and Google." This is 100% true. In all likelyhood, handhelds will be phased out by mobile gaming or somehow integrated, and the same will be true of consoles. In the future, you will simply be able to play games off of your TV directly. Many of the new xbox features are aimed beating google and apple to the punch with these sorts of things.
I wished I had gotten a PS3 rather than the 360. The 360 literally has no advantages over a PS3.
PS4 I shall welcome you to my household as a member of the family.
educate
That entire interview is just PR spin from the perspective of the Microsoft representative. There's no definitive answers to what we didn't learn at the conference, and it's clear that Microsoft's message isn't completely solid yet.
http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-live-tv-available-in-us-only-at-launch-requires-separate-device/ Oh wow.
You know you can still bring your game CD to your friend's house, install your game in his xbox, log in with your account, and merrily play the game? No one's stopping you from doing that. Neither does the PS4 have backwards compatibility, nor plenty of consoles in the past. The DRM is just like Steam. And we don't know what games it will have yet. No one is forcing you to watch TV in your xbox But hey xbox none guis am i rite XD
MS support said they don't require a fee. MS is targeting people who require a home entertainment system. How is that a bad thing and how is that going to distract you from gaming? Remember people who bought a ps3 for the sole purpose of playing bluray disks? ps4 and xbox one have the exact same architecture now. x86 AMD cpus and gpus with 8gb of ram. So, any game that's available for ps3 will also be available for pc and xbox one.
They said during the reveal that it was going to use the same subscription service as the 360. The one reason people no longer want a 360 and they're fucking carrying on with it.
