GoPro are masters of advertising.
I can confirm this, from a cliff it actually fell on a rock with the Skeleton case on it. Slight damage to the skeleton case but even that is 'just a scratch' Its the ultimate sports/outdoor camera you can buy
I wiped out on skis at around 40 mph or so, my GoPro ended up bouncing off a tree and into rocks. Nothing but a few scratches on the case. I can't believe how durable those lil guys are.
I have the hero 2. Went through a lot of shit and the only thing damaged is a little 1mm long scratch on the case lens because I smacked it onto rocks when I jumped off a tree into the sea.
My brother does RC planes/cars and has went through 2 gopros. He's a goddamn wizard at breaking things I'll give him that.
im getting one i dont even care that i dont do anything exciting with my life
GoPro are masters of advertising.
That's the nice thing about GREAT products, they advertise themselves through satisfied customers!
I'm just amazed how good of a sensor they packed in their. They are shooting BBC level epics with these things.
I am going to get one so I can record myself playing videogames and browsing facepunch in first person, then go to my bathroom and jerk off, then go to bed and think about life and how shitty of a person I am.
im getting one i dont even care that i dont do anything exciting with my life
Its extremely versatile. Works good as a point and shoot camera too. Will totally buy the black edition someday.
The creator of the GoPro is a family friend. He said when he was in college and first developing the GoPro, he caught nothing but shit from his peers. "There's no way in hell such a small camera would even stand up to my foot." He's now got more money than God.

Also, it looks like they decided to integrate the dive lens into the Hero 3 casing now. Back with the Hero 2 you need a dive case with a special lens if you want to take underwater videos to get a sharp result. The stock one works too but the quality isn't really good.

Its just incredible that it supports 5k filming, this VS your average HD camera from the same price.. Well GoPro wins
Damn. I would kill to work with these guys.
Damn. I would kill to work with these guys.
I would rather be sponsored by them. Hell yeah going everywhere with 20,000 go pro's attached to my body.
Ah this just makes me want to buy a GoPro even more now. I wanna stick it on my bmx and do some filming.
Holy shit go look at the shot of him spinning at 1:12. How the fuck...
Its just incredible that it supports 5k filming, this VS your average HD camera from the same price.. Well GoPro wins
Yes, but you're looking at low framrates. I think it's more of like, "We can put in a 4k-5k sensor, they can choose to shoot in that if they see fit." Even though it's much much faster, processing wise, than the Hero 2, 4k probably isn't viable for most things besides flight maybe.
This makes me want to drop everything and go live an adventurous life.
