I never once tried to justify a BELIEF in anything whatsoever, how you came to that conclusion is beyond me. I was implying that it's pretty ignorant for you to justify your DISBELIEF, which is what your doing. I never said there was for sure aliens or flying sphagetti monsters or anything, I was pointing out that you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss things that large amounts of people have been claiming to see since recorded history. The possibility of E.T. life is a hell of alot more probable than your flying space tennis ball. Don't try to compare two totally different things, you just look like an idiot. And by the way theres no need for you to act like a complete jerk to everyone who disagrees with you. Calm yourself down, seriously, read what your typing.
Why? Because people think it is? The fact of the matter is that nobody knows what it is that they are seeing, all of these UFOs could indeed be my flying tennis ball! Don't be close minded. My disbelief, as you call it, is a stand I take to anything unproven. I'm not going to fuck about with agnosticism and the logic of neutrality, because in the end I'll still be saying the same thing but with different words. What, like when you compared UFO watchers and Einstein? Yeah, I'll try to keep that in mind. I do read what I type, and I don't feel one once of remorse for typing it. This isn't a hard issue, everything we know about physics says that FTL travel is impossible, and disregarding that for no reason isn't a virtue, it's just making room for even more stupid ass beliefs to throw onto the stupid ass beliefs pile the world has going. Aliens aren't fucking visiting the Earth. Even the simplest of scientific law makes the idea ridiculously improbable. And if you tell me that I should just be "open minded" to the idea, regardless of the fact that it's laughably absurd and that it doesn't have the slightest shred of evidence, then I'm going to call you a fucking moron.
Uuugghh... Since 1800, have we shown that things fall away from mass? Have we shown that Electricity is attracted to wood instead of metal? Have we shown that objects in motion usually stop instantly? Have we shown that up is down and down is sideways? Laws are called laws for a reason. I'm not sure what the fuck you're trying to say, but I'm pretty sure it's stupid so I don't care. [editline]12:49AM[/editline] im butthurt bcuz teh alins uzed ther ass dril on me ;(
Did you know we believed in a flat world?
For reference as to why someone seeing something is possibly the worst evidence available, watch.
Damn you I was going to post that video. I love Neil Tyson.
This isn't a hard issue, everything we know about physics says that FTL travel is impossible...
I'm not fighting for the believers here because I really think extraterrestrial visitors (who don't make actual contact no less) are pretty improbable. But I'm pretty sure faster than light travel was determined to be possible if one could squish the three dimensions of space in a higher dimensional way and travel through that... It's similar to a portal but involves actually compressing "spacetime" instead of jumping to other parts by moving in a higher dimension. Visually it might look like extreme acceleration, even though the passengers in the vehicle would experience what you might call 'standard acceleration forces.' It's pretty much just sci fi jargon to us currently, but physically it might be possible.

You're not making yourself look smart, just like an asshole. When people are wrong, try to fix them. Don't throw around blindless insults and undermine them just because you think your point is superior.
Did you know we believed in a flat world?
And can you tell me why we thought that? Oh, that's right, because we assumed it to be so. Hardly on par with the theory of fucking relativity. There's no way to fix someone who operates outside of standard logic, it just doesn't fucking work. I tried "fixing" people for the last five years, and I never got anywhere. So fuck trying to show people their errors and the correct point of view, because no one gives a fuck about the truth. It's easier and more entertaining for me to just point out how they're wrong and then call them a bunch of stupid douches. And blindless would imply my insults are well thought out. The phrase you're looking for is "baseless".
I almost stopped when I saw the title, but no, I waited to open the video, I almost stopped when I saw the History channel logo, BUT NO! I PROCEEDED, then I saw this Then I lolled posted this and left the thread

I think Mr. Mcguffin here needs to learn to apply the phrase "Don't care? Then DON'T FUCKING POST" [editline]01:08AM[/editline]
no one gives a fuck about the truth.
Wrong.
It's easier and more entertaining for me to just point out how they're wrong and then call them a bunch of stupid douches.
And that is why you are a lazy, foul mouthed idiot who fails to recognize the significance of such events even when they are told by united states governors, pilots, police officers, military personnel, Gordon Cooper, who is a former ASTRONAUT for christ sake, and A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. And you think that events like these don't deserve a closer look? shame on you.

Hi everyone. I'm a self proclaimed Ufologist- that is, the common name for those who study the UFO phenomena actively. I've had a great interest in UFOs for well over four years and am very knowledgeable about the subject. I'd like to take the time to answer questions and debate for the existence of UFOs here. Ask me a question, please, and I'll do my best to provide a reasonable argument.
Thanks for watching. I will leave you with a video to ponder to your heart's content. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehxixQxVxg8
That is the motherfucking Nihlanth
I don't even think Mr Mcguffin took the time to watch the damn thing in the first place. I bet he just jumped in here after he saw the word UFO in the title to spew unresearched arguments just to look smart.

That is, if I had even said a single thing about the video. Unfortunately I'm guilty only of reciting high school physics to disturbingly ignorant people. Now, did you want to make a valid point, or do you just want to keep acting like jackass while I tell you how stupid you are? Perhaps you can call me more non sequitor insults.
Fine. YES we know that physics work uniformly the same way throughout the universe, YES we know that you can't go over the speed of light. There are other possible ways to get from point A to point B and back using loopholes in the theory of relativity, such as wormholes, Krasnikov tubes, and Alcubierre drives. In other words, It may be possible to travel at superluminal speeds without violating the theory of relativity. Another thing to point out is that given the age of the universe (between 13.5 and 14 billion years) and the amount of time that humans have been around (roughly 200,000 years, which means that we are still an infant species compared to the rest of the universe) that gives more than enough time for other species to evolve and become intelligent enough to figure out how to get from their solar system to ours and back in a short amount of time. There is likely an as of yet undiscovered energy source in the universe that they have found that we haven't yet that they would use to give them enough energy to power their spacecrafts propulsion system.

Afterwords you can say whatever, but don't go posting your negative opinions before watching the documentary, which this thread is about. It is a really great documentary.

Otherwise, why should I waste my time?
Aren't you wasting your time posting in a thread which happens to be about a video that you did not watch?
Not when I'm talking about things unrelated to the video that people are posting about. ' And, again, one thing that makes this different from the innumerable other UFO docs.

Best argument about UFOs I've heard: http://www.wimp.com/aliensexist/
I KNOW WHAT I SAW Then it wouldn't be a fucking UFO then, would it?
Why do people think that if there are aliens, they would be sentient, and able to travel to earth? They might be as intelligent as a chicken, or a cat.
