Really, the camera is better than any other phone camera on the market, and having that many megapixels helps it a lot with that task.
That's impressive for a phone but the "true" resolution is somewhere between 10-14MP. Still very impressive for a phone. But nokia should rather work on the tonality and dynamic range of the sensor. The images still have that cell phone feel to them. Despire the huge resolution. Every time I don't have a camera with me I've been in places with great views and interesting things to take pics from.
[t]http://asset3.cbsistatic.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2013/04/12/35662608_RICOH_GR_12_610x436.jpg[/t] If you are serious about photography and if you know that you are going to a new place you might as well take a compact camera with you.• Of course, a phone is still smaller. Especially if you already have it with you. But you don't really need a DSLR anymore to take photos with a DSLR-like quality.

[editline]28th July 2013[/editline]
But you don't really need a DSLR anymore to take photos with a DSLR-like quality.
Yes you do. You simply won't get the same sorts of lenses on a compact camera.

-late to the punch- that looks like an incredibly good camera though for real
What do you mean with this?
That those 41MP shots look like upscaled ~12MP shots.
Yes you do. And the fixed lens on the ricoh gr for example is quite good.
The bulge really breaks the design for me. It looks and probably feels bad and out of place.

So if I downscaled that image to about 14 MP and then upscaled it again you're saying it'll look roughly the same?
i love to listen to this guy, he has a nice voice
i don't know why but the way he talks is pretty irritating, he'll pause in mid sentence and it bothers me
windows phone and no sd slot yuck
Yes. Even though this isn't really scientific.
Setting aside the fact that downscaling this image isn't in any way the same as taking a new one with a 14MP sensor, the difference is actually quite perceivable, especially around edges.
