It was a B-17, and you could actually fly that plane, in this you can't fly the AC-130, it circles the map like a call of duty kill streak.

It could be worth the money, though. I'm estimating it'll be $15, but that's probably already been announced.

Knowing the typical BF pilot, making the AC-130 flyable would bring more harm than good.

The only reason I bought BF3 was for vehicle warfare. This will definitely get me playing again.

You can't actually fly the AC-130. It just flies around the map on it's own. You can only take control of the guns.

Want to elaborate on that? I can see only advantages with it being fly-able. It's literally a massive air target so it's not going to be hard to shoot down, making it fly on rails seems dumb considering all the people who use stingers and such. It would also take this thing called "team work" and "coordination" to use it effectively to where your gunners can get good shots going.
I might actually play Battlefield 3 again.
After putting 250 hours in this game I kind of got bored of it all. But this is sure to bring me back. At least the DLC and expansions for BF3 are more varied than the stuff we got for BC2.

There's probably like only 5% of all players who could or would actually fly the AC-130 in a way so that the gunners could be useful most would just fly around on their own randomly or just suicide bomb with it anytime they can.

Looks decent, actually. Half those things would never happen in a pub game half the time though.
Choppers still fly waaaay too low, looks silly. The maps look genuinely nice.
They should have at least differently camouflaged the tanks for the winter/what looked like a jungle map?
Now that would be fun.
I kind of skipped over CQ but this is definitely something I'll be getting. It's a shame I'll probably be in college and not have my Xbox when this comes out though.
Well they definitly step the greatness up with each dlc for BF3, it's always something new to get excited over.
Also I can't wait for xbox noobs to use the rocket arty as a tank and complain when every tank one shots them.

I guess I'd be in that 5% then. Some of the most fun I've had playing battlefield was in the modern combat or desert combat mod for BF1942, flying the AC-130 around, or flying the spooky in vanilla 1942 dropping troops off.
I think this and End Game might make premium worth it.
Probably going to suck on Consoles unless, like the CQB expansion limits the number of players per map down, they increase the number of players up. Looks like it would be fun to play without vehicles on the 64 player servers, too.
Damn, they make the game look so fucking cool in the trailers, but none of the shit ever happens.
It looks awesome! And free is even more awesome.
