Men can't wear lulu yoga pants #maleopression

please explain running shorts, because that shit is too tight on anyone, the men and women I run with both complain about that shit and it's not like we can run nude
What? I've always hated shorts that are baggy since when I run or jog stuff get's real uncomfortable from being so loose, tight shorts all the way.
thats my point. if you have to wear a harness to hold the weights on your chest you might aswell make the thing you're wearing comfortable.
But, that's just a caveat of being a female, I don't think most women would like to run without support, regardless of laws I don't really see the need to imply that women should WOULD run around the way men do if the world was 100% equal (or reversed). Men run shirtless because they don't really have any reason not to.
you can hardly base a decision like that on whether or not one woman would want to. i can guarantee there are more than plenty of women that would prefer to run topless [editline]11th February 2014[/editline] what's the point in being so arrogant around the subject, it's not like stopping them by law makes any sense at all either. oh no, protect the children from the things that are specifically designed for them :v
The nipples are designed for them. Take a look at some non lactating non human mammaries some time.
Nah, I misinterpreted what he was saying, I thought he was arguing that it was comfortable because it was mandatory for women to wear something there
The nipples are designed for them. I wish we could all just be equal one day
I get that its a short film trying to make a point, but did the makers have to over exaggerate every element, to the point where the whole film became redundant?
It seems exaggerated because you are desensitized to the stereotypical gender roles in society. That's the whole point of the video. The things that women are expected to put up with seem ridiculous when the roles are reversed.
This was so... fucking stupid.
I remember last time I parked my car a far way away from the hospital even though the street was empty I guess im really sexist.
It seems exaggerated because you are desensitized to the stereotypical gender roles in society. That's the whole point of the video. The things that women are expected to put up with seem ridiculous when the roles are reversed.
Yup it's not exaggerated at all that every single man can't stop loudly commenting on women's bottoms or that a boyfriend would tell his recently sexually assualted girlfriend who can't walk to fucking trek it for 100 meters cause he can't go for the car himself and then pick her up and when she complains he would get so pissed that he would leave his recently sexually assaulted girlfriend who is is so much pain that she can't walk alone in the street. [editline]13th February 2014[/editline] This would be 100% better if it wasn't exaggerated because it's mixed with things that are not exaggerated. Now you'll have people shrugging it off with "it's exaggerated, shit like that doesn't happen" or getting offended because this isn't how all men are.
basically they're trying to show people what it'd be like if the roles were reversed but they do it in such a heavy handed manner that the message becomes just as irrelevant as france is
Some of the major points aren't sexism. Like the last scene was just spousal abuse and not really related to gender. Even then it is just ridiculously over exaggerated to the point where it just goes overboard. I mean, complaining about the way he's dressed even when he's conservative and professionally attired? Just makes the point seem tacked on top like a "men say this, isn't it seXISt, look at this and feel bad" jab. Especially when his wife is still wearing a low cut V-neck. It's not a bad video, but the last scene was just awful. Terribly put together without thought about setting or costumes used. There's also that anti muslim shit.
My testicles just produce sperm and testosterone, why can't I let them bounce around?
A man gets raped and his case isn't taken seriously afterwards? What a bizzaro, topsy-turvy world that would be!

Again. The point was to take typical cases of harassment against women and flip them around to circumvent our subconscious biases. Is it typical for one woman to experience that level of harassment in one day? No. In that sense the video is exaggerated. But that doesn't change the fact that these are all examples of harassment that women frequently face. It's telling that the message you took away from the video is "all men sexually harass women". Are there feminists that think that? Probably. Are they idiots? Yes. But when you try to attribute that belief to all feminists (such as the makers of this video), you are the one being idiotic.

It may just be me, but I've never heard the "well look at what she was wearing" line outside of arguments about feminism. Never. Not once have I heard anyone say that and if I ever heard someone who did, I can confidently claim that nobody I know would take them seriously. I am starting to think that it's nothing more than a strawman and always has been.

I thought the entire point was to show certain situations from women's life in a way that men can relate to, to make them realize how women feel like in these situations? Who the hell said that the message is "all men sexually harass women"? I said that if you portray all the characters who are representing men as assholes, someone can get that idea and miss the point of the video. Reading comprehension. 2. No one said that the exaggerated part was a single person getting all that abuse in one day. Didn't you read the post you quoted? I listed the exaggerated parts. 3. If the video is simply switching genders and doing nothing else, then it is saying that all men are assholes as all women in the video are assholes. That's why I'm criticizing this video for being exaggerated. If you want to show people how would it be if the sides were revered, do that and only that.
I would love to take a dump on op's face. such a fagget he is
I'd care more about these kinds of things if it didn't stereotype me as a male. Gives me the same feeling as some immature girl in science class going "GIRLS MATURE FASTER THAN BOYS TEHEHEHE"
I'd care more about these kinds of things if it didn't stereotype me as a male. Gives me the same feeling as some immature girl in science class going "GIRLS MATURE FASTER THAN BOYS TEHEHEHE"
it isn't enforcing stereotypes on you, it's playing on common stereotypes and gender roles. this video actually tried to do the exact opposite if what you think it's doing
it isn't enforcing stereotypes on you, it's playing on common stereotypes and gender roles. this video actually tried to do the exact opposite if what you think it's doing
Well it did a pretty shitty job of it. Wait, so it's not enforcing stereotypes, but just playing on common stereotypes by saying "this is how men behave?" Either this is enforcing stereotypes, or it's hyperbolizing perceived oppression to the point it's unrelatable.
it isn't enforcing stereotypes on you, it's playing on common stereotypes and gender roles. this video actually tried to do the exact opposite if what you think it's doing
If it's flipping "gender roles" it automatically assumes I'm some drunk idiot on a corner yelling at some chick about her butt, or a alley-rapist etc. In fact, I haven't seen a single person in my neighborhood ever run topless
If it's flipping "gender roles" it automatically assumes I'm some drunk idiot on a corner yelling at some chick about her butt, or a alley-rapist etc.
it isn't saying every man is like that though, is it it's depicting the kind of stuff that seems to be relatively prevalant withing male society that shouldn't. it isn't saying 'every man every is like this'.
it isn't saying every man is like that though, is it it's depicting the kind of stuff that seems to be relatively prevalant withing male society that shouldn't. it isn't saying 'every man every is like this'.
but nearly every woman in the video is like that given a few exceptions, and if it's meant to be flipped doesn't that mean it's saying all men are like that if they're saying all women are like that?
it isn't saying every man is like that though, is it it's depicting the kind of stuff that seems to be relatively prevalant withing male society that shouldn't. it isn't saying 'every man every is like this'.
Unless they're going to display things that are prevalent with girls that shouldn't be, I don't care. Either be equal like feminists want, or back off.
it isn't saying every man is like that though, is it it's depicting the kind of stuff that seems to be relatively prevalant withing male society that shouldn't. it isn't saying 'every man every is like this'.
But it didn't show a single rational, non-dickish male stereotype in the video to give us an anchor of how things should be. This whole satire thing is so confusing!
but nearly every woman in the video is like that given a few exceptions, and if it's meant to be flipped doesn't that mean it's saying all men are like that if they're saying all women are like that?
it doesn't explicitly imply that either though? it's running through a 'typical' situation with roles flipped of course, it's exaggerated. but i doubt the producers of this video had the mindset of 'all men/women are exactly like the stereotypes we are portraying in this video'
it doesn't explicitly imply that either though? it's running through a 'typical' situation with roles flipped
So it's typical for men to be rapists and your average boyfriend an inconsiderate asshole?
