But why Latex? Why not combat gear, or sweat pants, why these overly complicated and impractical fetish outfits?
Why not? It's a CGI trailer designed to try and pull people in. Sex sells. Nuns do too apparently. So here we have latex nuns blowing shit up. Stop bitching about a trailer that has no representation of the gameplay when the trailer clearly wasn't aimed at people like you.
after the convent ran into money issues, Sister Sarah realized that they could not pay next month's rent. The nuns all sat quietly, in despair over their time together cut short, until Sister Mimi walked in with a copy of Soldier of Fortune magazine...
I couldn't take that trailer seriously. He's supposed this gritty hitman guy, and the masturbation patrol walks out wearing crap that you shouldn't be able to move faster than an incredibly slow walk in without falling over. 47 himself was awesome, but the nuns were idiotic.
Saints Row The Fifth: Conviction I'm out, that's all I can take of shitting on the hitman franchise.
Boo fucking hoo. According to people like you, this game's release made the other, "untainted" Hitman games suddenly disappear from existence.
Reminds me of how goofy that Hitman movie is.
all hitmen and police carry around dual swords at all times
Advertising a stealth game as an action game might get some of the idiot cod fanboys to buy it, but they're going to be pissed when they play it and it's not as action-oriented as the trailers made it out to be. And then your core gamers, the ones who bought the previous titles, will be skeptical and unlikely to buy it because they think it's too action-oriented. Worst-case scenario, you lose out on both markets.
Except it WILL be as action-oriented as in the trailers, if that's what they want. Every single previous Hitman gave you the CHOICE of how you want to play. I once played through all of Blood Money as a mass-murderer, playing it as if it were just a third person shooter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they have put out videos of stealth gameplay too.
All this complaining about action trailers when all the other Hitman games have had action oriented trailers.
I dont get where people got this idea that Hitman is exclusively stealth. I always played hitman by figuring out where my target was (at a party, say), softening up the defenses (killing/hiding dead guards, doing those secondary obj, etc) and then going balls out with the .45s. The most exciting part of that formula is the shooting/killing, so that's what they show for the trailers. I swear this forum as a whole has short-term memory loss. Every time a video of this game comes out we go through the same process of random people going "No buy for me, they're no stealth just like conviction :((((((" and then everyone arguing.
god this game was fucking AWFUL
Boo fucking hoo.
all hitmen and police carry around dual swords at all times
You realize they ALL were hitmen?
I dont get where people got this idea that Hitman is exclusively stealth.
That's a party, it has context for the weird outfits.
Yeah, context that the developers made up themselves. The party could might as well been a regular party with normal formal clothes, but no, they had to make it a party where all females wear fetish clothing, even though that doesn't make a difference in how it all plays out.
Because there is no point for them to be dressed in latex. If they are going to be agile assassins then some normal sweatpants and a tank top would allow for much more freedom of movement over stiff and noisy latex.
IT'S A GAME NOT REAL LIFE
and 47 doesn't need to wear a suit and tie for everything to give him the "assassin" image but he does it doesn't matter
Except that the suit makes sense. It allows him to blend in well enough in most places. Latex nuns would have a hard time blending in anywhere but a fetish party.
Except that the suit makes sense. It allows him to blend in well enough in most places. Latex nuns would have a hard time blending in anywhere but a fetish party.
A big bald guy with a dark suit and leather gloves would not really blend well anywhere.
A big bald guy with a dark suit and leather gloves would not really blend well anywhere.
You must've never been anywhere ~classy~ Most of his missions are in places where people in suits aren't an uncommon sight. Hell, I've got a black suit, white dress shirt, and a red tie does that mean I'm a master assassin?
You must've never been anywhere ~classy~ Most of his missions are in places where people in suits aren't an uncommon sight. I just love how he puts all their weapons in the back of his car before he leaves. I loved doing that in Hitman: Contracts.
You must've never been anywhere ~classy~ Most of his missions are in places where people in suits aren't an uncommon sight. Hell, I've got a black suit, white dress shirt, and a red tie does that mean I'm a master assassin?
I have to admit that 47's suit really doesn't fit in very well a lot of places. I mean, for gods sake, if you saw a guy wearing a suit and tie with leather gloves, who was completely bald and had a fucking BAR CODE on the back of his head, would you not think he was the sketchiest motherfucker you ever saw? Really the suit is just a part of 47's image. It's become just as much a symbol of him as fiber wire has.
Suit and gloves are really nothing anyone would ever notice, the barcode is to be taken as stylization and simply doesn't exist to the people around him.
Suit and gloves are really nothing anyone would ever notice, the barcode is to be taken as stylization and simply doesn't exist to the people around him.
No it's not, there's a part in the first game where a scanner scans the barcode, so it's obviously actually there.
Yes it actually is there but it is only part of the style, it simply treated as if it weren't there but there because they thought it would make a good point about <x>.
I get what you mean, pretty much the same as with Sam Fisher's invisible NVG flood lights.
No it's not, there's a part in the first game where a scanner scans the barcode, so it's obviously actually there.
I always imagined 47 covered it up with makeup or something and the only reason we see it is because we already know who he is so his disguise literally fails to work, much as it does when you get your notoriety up whilst wearing a disguise it doesn't really make sense in-universe but in a metagaming way it does
That double-tap when he shot the last nun looked and sounded so satisfying. Also some christian soccer mom is going to flip a shit about this, I just know it.
I get what you mean, pretty much the same as with Sam Fisher's invisible NVG flood lights.
Except that it's been clearly explained that they aren't actually there, they only exist to help the player orient themselves. In fact, if I remember correctly, don't they like, not appear in Sam's reflection? 47's bar code actually exists in the game's story, so it's kind of different. That said, you really just have to suspend disbelief with things like these if you're going to have any fun.
Nothing says secret assassin like tattooing the logo of the agency you work for on your arm.
I'm not an expert on the Hitman lore, but do the general population in the hitman universe even know of the logo? Like, how secret is the Agency?
I'm not an expert on the Hitman lore, but do the general population in the hitman universe even know of the logo? Like, how secret is the Agency?
I thought the whole agency was almost or completely destroyed in Blood Money, so if someone had the capability to do so I don't think the existence of the group is completely unknown.
I'm not an expert on the Hitman lore, but do the general population in the hitman universe even know of the logo? Like, how secret is the Agency?
As far as I know, the Agency is most well known to governments and the wealthy, and receive a lot of contracts from them. But, considering dis: it seems like normal people can get a hold of the Agency too. I dunno [editline]31st May 2012[/editline]
I thought the whole agency was almost or completely destroyed in Blood Money, so if someone had the capability to do so I don't think the existence of the group is completely unknown.
Well, the reason the Franchise knew about the Agency, besides being in the exact same business, is that they were led by Alexander Cayne, former director of the FBI.
Honestly I wish I would be hyped at this game but I just can't. I don't know if the game will actually be as stealthy as the previous ones and the market is plain shit, or if what they show is what's actually the only option in the game - shooting people all the time. I really hope it's the former but there is barely anything that would let one think that.
I would like to see how 47 would trap them in house brutally. Still one of the damn awesome trailers out there.
