That's because for anyone who is religious, the question ends at: "God did it", "God made it that way", "It says it in the bible."
You missed my point. It seems like a good percentage of the people here have listened to a single point of view, which used logic and rationale [meaning it really appealed to people here] to disprove an old way of thinking. It has become the status quo to be a denier of "religion", particularly Christianity.
That in itself shares many religious qualities [by the way, I think you're putting a specific belief in the meaning of religion.] Religion is simply a system of beliefs a group of people believe in. The one here happens to be a belief in the disbelief of a particular entity.
You need to question the belief [which here is a disbelief] to be truly irreligious. Question the questions being asked here, or you are just the same as these "christian idiots" we all love to hate. You all seem to read articles, watch videos, and read threads that use logic to disprove this and that. It clicks in peoples minds and thusly, you subconsciously agree with anyone who has the same view point.
Maybe God exists, maybe not. [I personally am an atheist] There's no way to prove anything, but we can't blindly follow one system of ideas.
TL;DR Facepunch has it's own religion, blind atheism.

quote of the day : "How it may be Lawful and Fitting to use Falsehood as a Medicine, and for the Benefit of those who Want to be Deceived"
Christmas was actually a pagan holiday I believe.
No one knew when Jesus was actually born.
Christians turned it to the holiday it is now to try to convert more people.
Same with halloween.
I heard easter wasn't originally a christian holiday too, but I am not sure.
I want the rest of that video
HAHA Are you kidding?
You think that the Christmas tradition was created for family purposes?
That was patheticly stupid :D
No, it is indeed a biblical tradition.. You know, celebrate the birth of jesus? Ever heard of it?
Ontopic: I'm an atheist.
PS. (Don't know if you're an american or not but to make this interesting I'm going to asume you are.
Americas whole economic system is built purely on commercialism, prove me wrong please.)
As a few before me have said, it was originally a pagan holiday celebrating the rebirth of the sun. The only reason Jesus was said to have been born on the same date was to make the change from paganism to christianity easier. A lot of the holidays people claim are christian have pagan roots, like Easter
Nothing for christmas? Oh no!
... Well... Religion. *shrugs*
