good points, unfortunate that it went completely over some people's heads
there's been many a time when more politically active students have visibly(and in some cases succeeded) in dragging people into the issue
i have literally been called a piece of human filth by suggesting that people(not women, not men, people) should have some sort of self-defense weapon, training, or be prepared to handle a bad situation. i didn't know it was victim blaming to think that people should be ready to escape or defend themselves in case a scenario goes sour.

It's a symptom of far-left politics that anything that doesn't directly support whatever they're doing is bigoted/racist/sexist/misogyny/islamaphobic/xenophobic/homophobic, etc.
Something else they like to do is take the stance that anyone who is neutral is "Part of the problem", regardless of what they do or have done in the past.
It becomes problematic because in this age of social media most of the power to affect the accused is in the accusation, and not in what comes after.
Rape is considered one of the most heinous crimes ever, how the hell is rape culture even an 'idea'? Out of the hundreds of people I've ever met in my life I've only ever known like 1 rapist. Yeah it's fucked up, but rape culture is not a real thing.

I think that problem is symptomatic of any radical/extremist position no matter where it lies on the political spectrum, when you believe your cause is so noble and absolute that anything but explicit agreement means that the person who utters it is the enemy.

The underlying idea is that anyone who doesn't adher to the party line 100% is creating an environment that makes rape more likely or more common, therefore they are tacitly supporting rape, which is then presented as the evidence of the existence of rape culture.
It's completely unfalsifiable because the existence of rape culture is pretty much solely proven by people disagreeing with you about whether or not there's a rape culture. That means whether or not a rape culture exists, a rape culture will exist. If it exists, then it exists. If it doesn't exist, then it exists because people think it doesn't exist. There's a name for this phenomenon I think, it's called something like "Schrodinger's Rapist" or something like that.
"Sh-shut up you shitlords you are all male you have NO IDEA what rape feels like" something that would only ever be said by someone who has never been raped before.

There's a few times where that type of rhetoric is justifiable, like when talking to actual red pillers on reddit for example who do actually blame women in every possible situation no matter what happens to them, which is obviously illogical and bigoted. Here's a situation of that:

There are exceptions to every rule, and radicals/extremists exist of every type and caliber. The most important thing is to be open to the views of other people and to be able to back up what you say with evidence/examples/logic that makes sense and doesn't generalize anyone or paint them into a corner.

Rape culture is the brilliant and indefatigable law, that I, as a male person of (especially) mixed heritage am ethically, biologically and mentally unable to control my brutish unrefined reproductive instincts and when presented with any hint of titillation or vulnerability on the part of a female personage will extend any means of to enact forced copulation on her at any moment, means which are constructed directly into the very fabric of modern society and discourse itself of which the only defense against is to accept any and all contraindication as offered by Social Justice™ immediately and without question.
Never mind that "rape culture" was a phrase coined in the 70s to describe direct and ethical situations like India's current gender issues and has absolutely nothing to do with political climate where frank discussion and changing morals is and are to take place.
Also of note to remember the last significant person to use Social Justice in capital letters as a concrete thing was Fidel Castro.

However, Red pillers and people like Roosh V have no respect. Most people, like 99.99% of people don't value their opinions and academia doesn't give two shits about them.
Rad fems that hate men and perpetuate ideas that harm men are different. They dominate the media and academia with their views.

I can't tell if I'm a better or worst poster than I used to be :/
I think the biggest difference is that I tend to write longer more vague posts and occasionally cite sources.
Anyways that thread was a fun read if anyone wanted to take a journey to three years ago.

"Teach men not to rape"
"Teach black men not to steal"
"Teach Muslims not to be terrorists"
etc, etc, etc.
Once you untangle it, the prejudice becomes quite clear regardless of who perpetrates it and who they direct it towards.
