Getting a little defensive over a rating?
So you're pretty much asking to be flamed? I'm not going to stoop to your level and start a flame war. It's my personal opinion that you're wrong and that's all I'm obliged to say. Good day.
not really, just tired of people being fucking lazy and unintelligent enough not to contribute to discussions, i usually call out people that do that, i want them to explain how/why i'm wrong
it's called sarcasm
but yeah if you want to appear like you're taking the moral high ground, whatever
if you're gonna respond, please direct it to my private messages please, obviously this isn't the appropriate place for dealing with shit like this so
I'm not going to get involved with the argument, but I do find it silly that people are quick to dismiss ratings as 'a silly little box'. It's about what it represents, and if somebody is going to call you dumb with no explanation why it can get annoying.
this so much, i can't stress it enough, it just becomes a competition of popularity on some threads/sub-forums

I honestly don't understand the hate for Season 3 and 4 of TWD to be honest. Yeah season 2 wasn't that great due to the fact it was mostly boring as fuck, but Season 3 and 4 I found to be very gripping and I loved EVERY episode of those seasons. Every new twist and turn made me wonder what would happen next and some deaths were very unexpected imo
(Spoiler below, do not click if you haven't watched Season 4)
[SP]i.e. Hershel's death in Season 4 shocked me and made me literally cry (he was my favorite character :( ) [/SP]
So all in all, I'm very hyped to see what's in store in Season 5.

Though I thought your post was completely reasonable, intelligent, and well thought out, and hey maybe it was right. (In fact there are good reasons I don't bother with shows, and its because you may be correct, but, I don't know if you are yet until I see it on netflix)

that made me rate you dumb because you went from " a respectable person" to a "shit poster" literally half way into your post
but that's all I'm gonna say about dat.

Even that episode where [sp]Beth gets drunk[/sp]? I honestly thought that was the worst episode in an otherwise good television show.

It seriously felt like one of these crappy teenage programs at this point. People were defending it going "but character development!", but it was just cringy and a failed attempt at shoehorning any kind of backstory in to the characters.
It also had some of the worst acting from the whole show imo.

at least they can't fuck it up as bad as Kyle XY right?
it went from amazing show to still really good but with too much teenage drama feeling crap very fast, to the point where I was scratching my head and wondering if I was watching Kyle XY or "Actors pretending to give a shit"

i remember seeing like 5 minutes of an episode when i was flicking through channels in the afternoon
the only thing i remember is him waking up by a pool or something with a boner and everyone surrounding him
i think it was kyle xy anyway

I've seen all seasons, that definitely is Kyle XY
it had a good sense of humor and was amazing at first but shoehorned some insane bullcrap that didn't make sense in the end
Problem with The Walking Dead is that they turn 1 episode worth of plot in to 3 episodes.
Season 2 was the worst offender in this aspect. All of the events in season 2 took place within 1 hour's worth of reading in the comics, if that.
I loved season one when it started. After it finished, I read all of the comics. At that point I no longer enjoyed most of the season except for the first episode or two. I was so bored with season 2, but kept watching. I thought season 3 was better with Woodbury and stuff, but again it moved too slowly. The [sp]prison assault should have happened in season 3. I was so mad when the governor attacked and faked out twice.[/sp]
I wasn't a fan of the first half of season 4, until the [sp]prison attack, which I'd been waiting for since season 3 began.[/sp] I was surprisingly impressed with the second half of season 4. I actually liked the format they used. And it was nice to see everyone on the move.
What's weird is that my favorite moments in the show are all in the last few minutes of each season's second-to-last episode. There was the dramatic opening of the CDC doors, followed by the crap finale. Then there was [sp]Shane's death[/sp] followed by a crap finale. Then [sp]Merle's death[/sp] followed by a crap finale. And then that scene where [sp]Glen's group arrived to Terminus[/sp] followed by a pretty decent finale.
Being an avid reader of the comic series, I'd have to say my favorite consistent run of the show is the second half of season 4. But overall I'd recommend both the comic series and the TellTale games. If you hate the show, you may love the comics. If you like the show, you may like the comics even more.

Yeah, it seems like they have solid ideas for the staple points of the plot (deaths etc), but aimlessly meander around the story for the rest of the episodes.
TWD would be greatly improved if they just halved the amount of episodes, or followed more than one plotline per season.

I've heard that the writers of the Walking Dead have stories planned for up to 10 or 12 seasons now. I personally find that ridiculous. I feel that what they do is come up with a plot, then see how long they can drag it out. They try to maximize profits to coincide with them minimizing the amount of effort they put into each season. My primary issue with this show is the blatant greed of the writers and producers.
There are shows that actually take all their good ideas, and instead of seeing how long they can stretch them out, they see how many they can fit into a single season. And instead of planning 5 seasons into the future, they plan half a season into the future at most. Shows like Breaking Bad which has the same number of episodes, but makes every one count. And certain shows on the CW such as the Originals. It has 24 episodes compared to TWD's 13-18, and it squeezes 3 or 4 story arcs into a single season. They use all their ideas, and come up with new ones all the time. While TWD would take those 3 or 4 story arcs and turn them into 5 or 6 seasons to rake in cash without having to worry about brainstorming for another 5 years.
season 4 netflix when
It's like writing a paper about your day yesterday but instead of it being 500 words, you got to make it 50000 for the teacher to even grade it.
season 4 netflix when
Most likely within a week or two of season 5 starting, either before or after.
the show just tanked half way through season 2
season 2: [sp] lets sit on our asses doing nothing. oh sophia is dead and was inside this barn, welp.[/sp]
season 3: [sp] governor: let's attack!*runs in and governor forces get slaughtered* governor: retreat![/sp]
season 4: i didn't watch this so i can't say
the show seemed so promising while it was just at its first season. then darabont left and it lost a lot of its glamor from that point on. i always find it sad when something doesn't live up to its potential, and it sucks that TWD is one of those examples.
Don't leave out that the producers gave Season 2 a substantially smaller budget to work with.
Season 2 is the worst out of all four seasons so far and can literally be dis-regarded as nothing important truly happens besides [sp]Shane, Sophia and Dale dying, and that they all have the virus.[/sp]

Actually I think it follows the Comic books with that part, because [sp]The Governor attacks them again in the comics and the last time they had a Tank and just fucked the place up.[/sp]

I'm not sure about the 'cue boxes' post, but when somebody rates you dumb, that's another person calling whatever you said stupid. I think that deserves some explanation at least.
I haven't been watching the walking dead, is that martin freeman standing behind rick's gang, with the goggles, when they're talking about the cure?

Well that [sp]final attack was almost exactly how it happened in the comics(except for the number of survivors). They just should have done it earlier, it should have happened in the season 3 finale.[/sp]
The last few episodes of Season 4 saved that series for me, the tension towards the finale was pretty nuts too. I'm gonna watch this, the current story arch of them coming together again and running around is fun. That and the separate Beth one, who you know is going to find them again at some point.
The whole cannibal shit is going to be grizzly as hell.
Plus, I think this could be the season [sp]Rick dies, the trailer was really focused on him and there's a lot of scenes without him as well[/sp]
I feel like I just watched the entire first episode. Why do they do trailers like this?
I think I could just watch the premiere and finale of each season and understand the show just fine.
I have a feeling where ever Beth is, Rick + co. may be heading.
