I bet the cut out part of video was the officer getting out and apologizing.
This was in response to someone saying he should be fired. It's a YouTube comment so take that as you will
Actually he didn't. The kid was OK, he didn't sue, and the investigation of the full length video showed that the cop followed all procedures so was cleared. This happened 9• months ago btw and this video was heavily edited to make the trooper look bad.
[editline]1st August 2013[/editline]
and
I meant "edited" as in they cut out the parts of the video where the officer jumps out and checks on the kid to make sure he was ok and called in medics to check him out as well while writing a whole report out on why he accidentally hit the kid.
The cop made a mistake, that's obvious, but the rest of what he did was apparently correct as the full video apparently showed and the kid was apparently• not a dick about it and forgave him so everyone was cool.
Nothing like screaming "FUCK" in public.
What an awful kid.
I bet it was a legit mistake and the guy with the camera is trying to make it look 100 times worse than it is.
Somebody just got hit by a car and you're more worried about somebody hearing the word fuck?
Are you the censorship board?

Woah, watch out. We sure don't wanna etch away at this generation's innocence!
News update: It was an accident.
Virginia — Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk tweeted a video showing a Virginia State Police cruiser hitting a young skateboarder near VCU’s campus — an incident both the teen in the video and police say was just a big mistake.
Tim Crawford, the teen in the video, says the ordeal actually happened months ago but just went viral Wednesday.
"All I remember is being back up on my feet," Crawford told NBC12. "It's like a mistake. It happens. I'm alright with that."
Police said in a written statement that proper procedures were followed after the incident
"They paid for the medical bill," said Crawford. "That's all we can really ask for I imagine.”
Crawford admitted that the video that was posted was edited and did not show the entire ordeal. The officer stopped and was concerned for Crawford, who only suffered a minor scratch, according to the report.

News update: It was an accident.
I was going to say, almost certain this was either an accident or staged.
Glad that everything worked out in the end and no one was seriously hurt.
News update: It was an accident.
So the guy who edited the video is the asshole here.
You could see the gesture the cop made before getting back in his car, glad it was all sorted out though.
News update: It was an accident.
I figured it was when I saw the video happened in Virginia, I live in Virginia and literally every cop I've met here was nice as shit.
Woowee he hit the accelerator too hard call the fuckin cops
oh wait
News update: It was an accident.
How could anyone believe it wasn't?
What would have happened if it was the other way around and somebody hit a cop?
What would have happened if it was the other way around and somebody hit a cop?
hurr durr murican cop woulda shot the bastard 14 times before calling a k9 unit
Not all cops are dick, most are actually very nice people. Taking up a line of work where your sole priority is to risk your life for others takes a lot of courage. If it was a legitimate accident, I'm sure the cop would have been a little pissed off, but judging by how this one reacted (calling medics, writing a report, etc.), I don't think a big deal would have been made of it. Both parties acted politely and respectfully in this situation. Most of the time you see cops being dicks, it's because the person the cop is encountering is being just as bad, if not worse.
What would have happened if it was the other way around and somebody hit a cop?
In this situation? Probably a stern "take your time making a u-turn" and a report written... Its not like they were aggressively trying to hurt someone

Not a surprise here, everyone thinks police use excessive force..
and the map for that is even more telling.

*Shocker*
NY, FL, TX, IL, CA. They also have the most supreme court cases governing law enforcement because their standards suck shit. IL is on there basically because of Chicago and the interstate change just to the south of it.
In the 1000+ table there is no surprise here, NO LA got #1 because they are corrupt. Everyone knows it.
Instead of trying to paint a picture that all american cops are power hungry gun slinging assholes, they should paint the picture that different states have different training standards than others. Some are lower than others by a lot. Some require 4-year degrees while others need a GED. A general rule of thumb is that the more south you get, the more problems you're going to have with law enforcement.
I also find this to be interesting. It's like, no shit police brutality happens more in America. America does in fact consist of 50 states, so there is quite a bigger chance of things like that occurring in comparison to the country you reside in.
"What the fuck!"
The guy filming sounds annoying, like one of those guys that tries to start shit with law enforcement and then cries about it when they get arrested.
He watched his friend get hit by a cop car
lol look at all the police apologists in here.
there is no possible situation where what the officer did was in any way acceptable. fuck that cop.

Yes, being concerned for the victim and paying the medical bills after an accident is unacceptable, I agree.
Thread should be closed. Bump and horrible dramatization to stir shit up.
I love how edited the video is
doesn't even show anything

yeah I'd rather see the actual STORY you know?
Why do you need a clearer context? There's literally no situation that could warrant a police officer doing that to a citizen
Why do you need a clearer context? There's literally no situation that could warrant a police officer doing that to a citizen
Because the video's obviously edited with the intention of making the cop look like an asshole when all he did was accidentally drive too hard and hit someone. Hence the whole

he wouldn't have to pay the medical bills if he wasn't a fucking goon and watched where the fuck he was driving.
Love how when a thread like this gets bumped from ages ago everyone gets right back to arguing about it as if nothing happened.

Accidents happen you loon.
Accidents happen you loon.
after further thought i think i might have been too harsh in my original analysis of the situation. i mean yea, accidents do happen and if the officer tried to make it right then good on him i guess. i'm just incredibly cynical about police since i and my entire network of friends/acquaintances have had a very...troubled relationship with law enforcement. when you see cops smash a dude's face into the ground or get maced by some pig you tend to start to have a very harsh attitude regarding them. so when i see a video of a cop hitting a skater i am immediately reminded of the times i have been in situations where the cop was an enemy to me rather than a public servant.
i hate police for what they stand for to me, but i need to make a better effort to have some empathy for the human behind the badge.
