This video is yenious
I'm glad I already preordered Overgrowth.
Yeah fuck good graphics and a story, we want 5 buck tech demos.
because gameplay mechanics don't mean shit, am i right?
Make it moddable, get even more community support for Overgrowth and loadsemone.
I was hoping this would be playable on Linux, but then I saw the "Unity" tag.
:(
This video is yenious
That's spelld gjenius genius.
God now i absolutely HAVE to preorder overgrowth.
He probably coded this game in a day, the guy is a maniac.
I'm not talking about tech demos. Their focus in general seems to be on the mechanics of the way a game is played. They seem to be bringing up interested methods and concepts for their titles.
I've been following overgrowth and the detail he goes into about how his new choices and updates affect the way people play character is almost inspiring.
But good job blowing my statement out of proportion.
The way i see it is that they design the game from the ground up. Many developers skip developing interesting features and mechanics.
I've lost interesting in mainstream games probably a year or 2 ago, when it became obvious indie developers were going to surpass the mainstream industry. The whole situation is stupid, because it should be the other way around, like it used to be.
As for my previous post; i think this game is not worth 5 bucks.

Yeah screw that, i am going to read a book.
Oh man just been playing it. I love it so much. When I started playing it, I got caught out a couple times because I didn't notice the hammer hadn't been pulled back. So I'd fully load up, aim at a super fast flying bot as it's flying towards me, click and die.
Reloading is really fast as long as you have a spare magazine loaded. You pretty much double tap E, double tap the number for the magazine and then press R or T, it doesn't really matter which.
I was actually going to ask any gun aficionados, if the slide is locked back and you load a full magazine, then can you just pull the slide back instead of taking it off the latch? Because if you can't then I guess that's a bug.
Tried it. Hard as FUCK, but very fun and interesting.
This game made me want to get off my ass and go to the range for once.
Definitely needs a shotgun and a rifle.
Would be cool to have more guns :)
How big is the entire game? I might need to uninstall a few things.

141Mb.

A double-barreled shotgun would be sexy to reload.
I didn't expect to be so in love with this game.
The only thing that bothers me is a lack of leaning.
Also, from time to time, the turrets will spot and shoot you through walls and through floors.
we should ask wolfire for the source code
and
add all the guns ourselves
The tension of this game is what makes it stand out for me, the feeling of counting bullets left in your mag, making sure there's a round in the chamber, making sure you have a spare mag so you can reload quickly, hastily shoving new bullets into a mag in while a taserbot is chasing you and then forgetting to release the catch. The fragility of the player character adds a lot to it. The story is nothing new or innovative, but I did find myself wanting to find all the tapes so I could piece together the puzzle. Very neat bonus for those of us who pre-ordered Overgrowth and a very neat game for everyone else.
It's so satisfying to shoot at a killbot, run out of ammo, and accept the end. . . and then realize that one of the bullets took out its weapon.
Should we make a thread in GGD for this game?
Done.
a game with safeties on guns that work? sexy
I hope this game supports the Novint Falcon.

I was just thinking that. It's like the Falcon is made for this type of game, especially if they release a more detailed gun model for the falcon (with a slide)
Awwwwww, now I feel bad

I believe it depends on the gun, but on a 1911 like the one in the game, you can chamber a round by pulling the side back. The notch on the side of the slide is angled, so that it pushes the latch down by pulling it back.
So If i order that neat-o animal game they're making I get this gun game free?
My only beef with the game is that when it's so detailed, it's hard for me not to notice all the little bits that aren't really correct. You can't engage the safety with the slide locked back, or with the hammer down.
The game is brilliant, but when those details are supposed to be noticed, it's hard not to pick out the ones that are wrong.
