So If i order that neat-o animal game they're making I get this gun game free?
Yes. But if you don't want both, just buying this game is cheaper. But you want both.
There should be a seperate button to just pull the slide halfway.
There should be a seperate button to just pull the slide halfway.
hold T and tap R not much of a button but it's how you check for a chambered round without ejecting any current ones
this is strangely fascinating. i like the mechanics, makes reloading a gun a lot more interesting than simply hitting "r". If any one is even remotely interested, i might do a 10 minute stream of me running around and trying to play it.
hold T and tap R not much of a button but it's how you check for a chambered round without ejecting any current ones
I know that and it's awful because I can't just do it easily and quick.
I tried walking into an apartment and 2 of those fucking turrets are standing in the kitchen and I somehow end up living only to be killed by a turret in the bedroom. Did I barge into a family of turrets or something?
Turrets are honestly no big deal, their weakest point (the brown base right between the tripod and the actual turret) is the easiest to hit and there is only a very weak chance of it not killing the thing instantly and leaving it active, just not able to turn around. The flying drones, however, are scaring me the fuck out because I can never manage to hit their weak spots (either the camera which makes them blind or the rotor supports which are superthin).
I'm thinking that Wolfire might want to fully develop this, or at least expand the experiment a bit to play around with more game mechanics, it seems like a hell of a base to build on.
I believe it depends on the gun, but on a 1911 like the one in the game, you can chamber a round by pulling the side back. The notch on the side of the slide is angled, so that it pushes the latch down by pulling it back.
Since you seem to know things, I have another question. If you empty your gun, then lock back the slide, then load in a mag with at least a bullet, you can see that the bullet has gone in (but no chambered), but if you pull the magazine out, it stays there. That shouldn't happen, should it?
If the slide wasn't released after you put the mag in, then no, the bullet shouldn't stay there.

Is it just me or does he sound A LOT like critikal nowadays.
Is it just me or does he sound A LOT like critikal nowadays.
He sounds like Cr1TiKaL if Cr1TiKaL had a vocabulary that included only the words penis and nipple and viking.

So, i did a really horrible commentary on the game, because why not.
No checkpoints, no saving. Well that's exactly what made me rage at games as a kid.
using macros in the game is fun, cause I can take out the mag and put the gun away instantly, then very quickly put in bullets and get load the gun, cock back, and I'm ready to shoot away. Plus use a grab macro to grab all nearby things pretty quickly. Still very hard! with the right macro you should be able to automatically do all the above, take out mag, put gun away, load mag up, put in gun, cock and be ready. The aboves the fastest possible way to do it + while running, and it's still pretty hard :v: [editline]20th June 2012[/editline]
this is strangely fascinating. i like the mechanics, makes reloading a gun a lot more interesting than simply hitting "r". Never see that though.
well done removing the whole point to the game and why the fuck do you need a macro for "press g" anyway
well done removing the whole point to the game and why the fuck do you need a macro for "press g" anyway
I played it normally for a bit, I just wanted to see how easily I could exploit it with my keyboard. When I'm bored of it normally I go for fucking about and trying to figure out how I can work things :U and so that I can hold it down. I do that with use in most games.
Yeah I was a bit hostile, it's just as a clan admin I have to deal with people doing that shit in mp games, ruining the experience for everyone
Yeah I was a bit hostile, it's just as a clan admin I have to deal with people doing that shit in mp games, ruining the experience for everyone
I only really use macros online to make the game for comforting. It doesn't actually do much other than give me a few extra keys and make the game feel a little smoother. I'm shit at online games a lot but if it's a good game and a macro could severely exploit it I'd feel like a dick. :v: Oh, hey, maybe I can jump and reload pretty well but, that doesn't change the fact that I have shit timing. :v:
My only beef with the game is that when it's so detailed, it's hard for me not to notice all the little bits that aren't really correct. You can't engage the safety with the slide locked back, or with the hammer down. The game is brilliant, but when those details are supposed to be noticed, it's hard not to pick out the ones that are wrong.
Uh, I don't know what you're doing wrong, but I can turn the safety on at any time, and I've done it plenty of times with the slide locked back, and the hammer down ( I would know because I've forgotten to pull the hammer back a bunch of times when I start sometimes )

You can't do that on a real gun.
I've finally pre-ordered Overgrowth (not that I didn't have a reason before), but I can't access the Secret Pre-order forums, nor do I know how to get Receiver.

Then, you should follow the activation in your email, which gives you access to a unique URL where you can plug in the username of your forum account to give it access to the preorder forums.

Still nothing.
I pre-ordered, made an account and even activated it. Still nothing.
That's odd. Good thing you should be able to contact them via their chat form on the site. If you really can't access it, you should do that.
Made a silent video last night to show off the game. First time I played outside of running around testing the gun.
Alright, I contacted the their contact... people, and have the game. It's pretty fun, a little stressing with the perma-death and spawning with a random amount of ammo. Does anyone know how to load ammo into a magazine?
put the pistol away, whip out a mag and press z
For some reason I really want to play this game using a pump-action shotgun.
