I actually like most of this update, the comments section is still a clusterfuck though and separating like/dislike just confuses people.
I don't like how they locked down the profile pages, you can't change a thing except background color/image and selecting between 4 default layouts.

Horrible tbh. Channel page is a mess, I want a vertical list on the right with the video in the middle. Mkay?
Stylized design with "coolness" is shit. Browsing is generally just slower due to buttons working slowly. Suggestion thumbnails are huge. This is indeed as if designed for a touchscreen device. No thanks.
Video viewing page is mostly decent with the darkened background. Video size option is okay i guess but I watch things either in fullscreen or small to fit chat windows etc next to it.
Let me keep the current one and I'm happy.
I like it. Homepage isnt much different besides a slightly prettier UI.

It's organized better and isn't as jumbled but it isn't as customizable and accessing multiple things at once is a bit slower. Response times a slightly slower than what I remember but they're still testing so I'll forgive them for that. It also looks very modern and nice.
I really like the color choice and smooth edges and such, but the layout not so much.
Pros:
Avatars on comments!
Black screen to focus on the video.
(seemingly) more responsive player.
Video layouts - info at the bottom with the video given the highest priority.
Cons:
"Friends" and "Subscribers" and "Subscriptions" all disappeared. I hope that's not permanent.
Pop-up timeline and video options that wastes video space.
Disorganized and much less customizable channel pages.
It's still fantastic-looking, I just hope they add more functionality to it before they publicly release it.
This new layout is awesome. Looks like they finally hired some guys who know what they're doing!
It's similar to the fix youtube addons and extensions. Although I never used one that made the vid suggestions bigger.
It's okay, but.. why does Google feel the need to change this shit every few months? It's fine right now, and, hell, they could even change a few things, like giving us back the regular five star rating system that was actually useful.

Looks more like an Iphone app then something I'd expect from a website.
Which has it positive an negative sides, sure it looks nice and fancy. But to be honest I'm pretty annoyed by all these layout changes recently.
Just, for the love of god, don't add those fucking ratings like "WIN" or "FAIL", the general comment section is bad enough already.

I wish they just kept it the way it was back in 2007. It worked just fine back then, now the subscription box is a buggy mess and there's hardly any color anywhere.
I had to switch back... The channel navigation was driving me nuts after a bit.
they're using the same comment layout as face book.
like and comment grouped together, negative options (flag/dislike) to the right, username to the right of picture, comment underneath username
