I used to make bows, 60-70% of the time when you stress test them they split. It's a gamble
He even made a quiver.
he makes me quiver
I once did all of this. [sp]In Cataclysm DDA[/sp]
What's it got to do with, grain pattern?
I'm actually surprised his archery technique isn't better, but that said he probably shoots better with that selfbow than I do with my recurve lmao. Fuckin' crazy. Says in the description it's the same wood he uses for axe handles, so it must be pretty tough stuff.
I think he's probably not trained in archery, and it's also probably likely that the poor make of the bow means he took a weird posture because it was easiest to use that way, since it's probably not very symmetrical, plus wrist slap like you guys said before.

But I guess he might have been mimicking it for authenticity, who knows

I was really surprised at the power of the bow and his accuracy. Guy's got some skill.
I can imagine him doing this like he's playing a game of Rise of Nations or Civilization or something. First he lives in a hut of clay and a wooden bow and arrow, but keeps expanding until he has a fortress and armor of steel and a sword.
Watching his videos is making wish I could just go out into the forest & live like that Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to do this & of course there are no rainforests in England
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunting_in_Australia edgucate yourself
But abcpea, you can't hunt in Australia, didn't you know?
Taken from the Wikipedia page on fire hardening:
Subsequent firings and polishings of the wooden tip of the spear would eventually form a hardened glaze consisting of pitch, wood particles and carbon on the tip which could eventually be even harder than a copper tip.
That's nuts. So even without a stone or metal arrowhead these things can do some serious damage.
Every single one of this guy's video is fucking great. Is there any videogame where i can go out and live like this guy
Stranded 2? Cataclysm DDA? Unreal World?

I've even seem board bows whittled out of knotty pine boards.
yeah it's called Real Life
I hear the graphical fidelity is shit and there's terrible latency issues.
I hear the graphical fidelity is shit and there's terrible latency issues.
It's pay 2 win.
Believe it or not, rust is as close as it gets if only it wasn't a sausage fest though.
Rusts survival is the same shallow and unchallenging "rub two resources together to craft intricate machine" that you get in a majority of "survival" games/mods out there. Though there are about a dozen true wilderness survival games that are good, terrafirmacraft, hydrocraft, wurm, cataclysm: dda, and unreal world are a few.
