Chinooks are magical, they must be. There is no way that they can possibly fly according to the laws of physics. I mean, it weighs 12 tons and then at least another 12 tons for each of the pilots' massive balls and it just doesn't make sense.

Chinook pilots are getting better and better. In Afghanistan a pilot had to land one in a compound while keeping the nose raised as half the fuselage was in between two buildings. There's also an image somewhere of a roof extraction done in a similar fashion, with the ramp just sitting on top of a building and the rest of the helicopter hovering.
