Yeah, I'm not 100% on the idea of physical DLC either, I was thinking of them as more like statues that you can choose to buy outside of a bundle, that sometimes has extra content.
unless you mean just from a quality standard then i'd disagree in some cases

The only CE I ever bought was for Spore, and it had some real neat stuff. Concept art, examples of creatures you could make, a documentary about evolution using Spore footage in some parts, and the game itself, all in a nice white molded box about the size of a usual PC game box.
The most surprising thing is that I enjoyed the game inside, too.

it comes with the game though so really the question you should be asking is not "do I want to spend $100 on an action figure" but "do I want to buy both this $60 game and also this $40 action figure at the same time"

Ashens has done a few videos on Video game tat, i'm honestly surprised at how cheap even the nicest looking statues can be snatched up for just by waiting a few months / year.
By en large it's all crap but I do love me a metal game case.

If there was a version of this collector's edition without the game I would buy it
The only CE I've bought was for inFamous 2. Came with a statue of Cole (eh), a mini comic book, the ost, and a fucking sweet sling bag modeled after the one he wears in game.
