The last Battlefield 4 DLC has a bunch of nods towards 2142, including the formation of the Pan-Asian Coalition and two of the maps have prototype mechs and titans.
A futuristic Battlefield is by far the most likely, especially since their main competitor (CoD) has embraced futuristic settings as the current FPS fad.

by that logic I can say the same about a BF1944 since you could find wine bottles with "1942" written on them in BF3.
What if the setting will play across time starting at 1942 then ending at 2142.

BF4 didn't have a DLC with half a dozen items and vehicles pulled straight out of 1942 as well as the factions.
It did however have a DLC for all that and more but with 2142's hovertank and shit.
If anything the 1942 wine was an easter egg (since it was basically 'hidden' in a place that makes sense for 1942 wine to exist, the bar of a fancy place.)
The 'easter eggs' towards 2143 in BF3 however are out of place. A random hovering drone with the 2142 EU logo on it, an actual hovertank styled after the one from 2142, weapons lifted almost straight from 2142, so they would constitute more as 'teasers' than just 'easter eggs'

I'm not sure you know what an easter egg is. The entire Final Stand DLC is dedicated to fighting in futuristic research labs, complete with usable prototypes of weapons and vehicles similar to those in BF2142. An entire DLC can't be described as an easter egg. Fan service, maybe, but not an easter egg.
Well first of all i'm glad that we didn't see any futuristic armor which means we still could have a WW1/WW2 vibe

While I agree thatthe classical OST's are better, there's some really good ones in BF4. You should listen to 'Warsaw Theme', 'If Wishes Were Horses', 'Jin Jie's Revolution', 'Combat Ready', 'Phantoms' & 'Pukor och Krig'.
If they do go back to WW1 or WW2 then i bet we are going to get some orchestral awesomeness

Now this is just my opinion, and I do agree with you about that, but to me battlefield does lack a good single player campaign, it makes up for it in the amount of crazy shit you can do in multiplayer. I wouldn't want another single player right now anyways, unless it was by the people who did the story for bad company. I miss the comedy of that group. The battlefield story now is just so goddamn serious. I want to go back to huntin' down gold, and "liberating" it from the Russians.

The BF4 campaign was awful and made absolutely no sense. The BF3 campaign wasn't that bad though, at least in my opinion. Until the Russians and shit started showing up it felt like a semi realistic take on what a war with Iran would be like.
It felt more like a techdemo at some parts like Going Hunting, still it had one cool moment with the Spetsnaz trying to stop a nuke in France.
3 is more modernised but the final fart part of the theme is terrible, everything before that is great, similar to 4.
I hope it's some alternate history Vietnam battlefield.

I'm like 90% sure it's gonna be a Titan. They've been dropping so many hints here and there that it'd be a real disappointment. BF3's aftermath had pretty strong 2142 vibes, plus the easter-eggs in that game [I]and[/I] the whole Final Stand DLC for BF4. You can tell the guys at dice [I]want[/I]​ to revisit it. I wonder, if it is, whether we'll see the US or Africa as factions. They'd been alluded to in what little exists of 2142's backstory, but never present in the game.
The only thing that gives me any doubt is the bit at the end of the video - "No weapon, vehicle or gear manufacture is affiliated with or has endorsed or sponsored this game." Saying so would imply there's references to said manufacturers.
Anyway, despite BF3/4's SP campaigns being utter trash, I'd actually appreciate one this time around, there's a lot of stuff they can do with the backstory, and they have a lot more creative freedom with the kind of levels they could have.
