Yea im still gonna call em similar because like bf2 it had shit netcode and like bf2 no one worked together on public servers so you were excluded from a majority of its new features in most of your gameplay
You described every multiplayer team-based game ever. I found some randoms to squad with and we voice chatted and had awesome time in BF2 back in the day.
Yea im still gonna call em similar because like bf2 it had shit netcode and like bf2 no one worked together on public servers so you were excluded from a majority of its new features in most of your gameplay
Yeah just like every other battlefield - if anything it was worse in 3/4 because in 2/142 there were ways of compensating for most of its effects, re: netcode. If that's your criticism, the setting isn't going to make a difference - ditto with the community. If anything I've found more randoms to work together in 2&2142 than any other game in the series due to the squad system and the fact you could speak straight to them instead of having to do it through battlelog or some third-party voice client that you'd have had to pre-arrange with people you already knew. At the very least there's the commo rose and squad leader orders that let people communicate with one another non-verbally, and helps medics get healing to the right people, and supports ammo those who need it. Then not even a few months in, you had clans and regular public players on certain servers, and a surprising proportion of them had mics and the desire to cooperate.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/AznrUzq.jpg[/t]
what an incredibly confusing title
And fuck I've gone one this long without even mentioning Titans, the whole future aesthetic, the music, the map design, and the rest of the gameplay opportunities that are afforded by everything 2142 does differently than or on top of what 2 does. Tell me again how similar they really are.
It felt really cool having to invade and take down a flying airship. They tried something similar in one of the BF4 DLC but no one plays it.
even on modern internet you have to adjust your aim for lag even if everyone is low latency
That's called leading, because if you shoot where a moving target is, it won't be in the bullet's flightpath by the time it reaches them. This is besides the point; 2142 and 2 are not the same game. Comparable, yes, but very different and in my experience, 2142's better in every way.
Cod and titanfall both show that mainstream scifi warfare is basically modern warfare with rocketjumping and a couple of gimmicks but mostly samey guns and armaments
2142 =/= cod/titanfall
It wasnt even just moving targets, you could shoot at people point blank and it would very easily miss even if it hit the model, or when it hit it would take about a second to register
Yeah and I've had this happen in 3 and 4. What's your point? And this new battlefield whether it's just "the same but in the future" or "The same but in the past", the netcode will be the same. There's one of the few similarities you could find between this hypothetical 2143 and BF4, congrats.

Completely disappointed by that fucking zeppelin picture. All interest lost completely. Enjoy yet another completely forgettable WW1/2 game.
Completely disappointed by that fucking zeppelin picture. All interest lost completely. Enjoy yet another completely forgettable WW1/2 game.
this is the first aaa game about wwi, im struggling to figure out how that's going to be forgettable but ok
"Do not refer to 'Battlefield 1' as the Battlefieldone"
If its World War I will we have Mustard Gas? :dead: EDIT: I still want a AAA Dieselpunk game. A new Crimson Skies would be epic
I'm more curious to how it will play out as WW1 is not the most interesting setting and Hardline was rather terrible. Not really getting my hopes up but will see what they have to offer.

what is it some steampunk thing or some shit?
Completely disappointed by that fucking zeppelin picture. All interest lost completely. Enjoy yet another completely forgettable WW1/2 game.
There are no forgettable WW1 games. Because there are virtually no WW1 games.
I'm more curious to how it will play out as WW1 is not the most interesting setting
I disagree, there's a whole lot of shit that's gone completely unexplored by modern gaming. Not all battles were strictly trench warfare, that's mainly just Western front. If they go the alt-history route it could end up pretty interesting.
None of that is Steampunk, its all entirely accurate WW1 equipment. Its a Mauser, an MP-18, a Trench Mace and some kind of sniper.
Name 5 ww1 games
fuck that, name like, 2
There are no forgettable WW1 games. Because there are virtually no WW1 games.
The only WW1 games I can think of off the top of my head are Verdun and Valiant Hearts: The Great War.
There are no forgettable WW1 games. Because there are virtually no WW1 games.
Dude, they were that forgettable that every trace of them were wiped off the face of the earth. Duh.
Oooh, do you guys think we'll get Biplane dogfights?
If its World War I will we have Mustard Gas? :dead: EDIT: I still want a AAA Dieselpunk game. A new Crimson Skies would be epic
I'd bet money on it being Dieselpunk simply because the equipment selection would be fairly limited otherwise, and even if it doesnt go full Dieselpunk, they're gonna need to get pretty unrealistic with the weapons if they dont want everyone running around with nothing but plain-jane bolt actions. Not that I'm complaining, a Dieselpunk WW1 game sounds straight up incredible
Oooh, do you guys think we'll get Biplane dogfights?
They gotta let you play as the red baron at some point. There's no way they can make this game and not allow that.
There's Iron Storm and Codename Eagle which are both alt-history, but there are very few historically faithful games like Verdun, other than flight sims.
fuck that, name like, 2
Iron Storm, Necrovision... that's all I got, and I doubt those would really qualify.
I want to be hans wermhatt
some bitches are about to get fokk(er)'d
Eddie Rickenbacker when
