Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location - Markiplier
With the cringe commentary and emo-cringe 2005 haircut & color, I'll wait for different lets plays.
Haircut and color was for charity, by the by, but I can't challenge you on commentary. There's a few let's plays already out now, if you're so inclined.
At least Markiplier isn't quite as McBroDudeBro as some of the other folks that tend to cover horror stuff. And his reactions at least feel a bit more genuine, rather than, ya know, standing still, eyes forward and yelling their lungs out. He tends to physically react to 'em.
He can be pretty goddamn cringy at times tho (last week or so of videos have the clickbaitest titles and thumbnails), I won't deny that. It's kinda part of the charm of watching tho.
Don't get your hopes up too high.
From what I've seen online, the game is extremely short, the story is really confusing with plotholes, and the ending is anti-climatic.
There is barely any secrets, only one fake ending.
Heck, the animatronics don't even get enough of the spotlight, but you all probably saw that in the first two videos.
What's worse is [sp]Baby, the Pigtail Animatronic that is pretty much the Freddy of this game, doesn't even attack you, doesn't show a threat, and the first time you see her is at the end of the game for 5 minutes, and she is offline.[/sp]

All the games are short, technically. It's dying over and over that elongates them. Plus it literally just came out, there's probably more secrets of some sort out there (even if FNAF4 trolled everyone with its secret box).
I've never been a fan of these kinds of games, but my curiosity always gets the best of me and I end up having to watch gameplay since I'm a total wuss.
I found it extremely disturbing when (endgame spoilers)[sp]You saw the two technicians hanged[/sp]

But this is shorter than the others.
Also it seems like we discovered the secrets, I mean we already got the Fake Ending by going through one of the hardest parts of the game which you had to find.
From the people who decompiled the game says, we've seen everything.
Yeah, I have zero hope for this. Same as the RPG, same as every one after 2.
There's a lot of excuses being thrown around like "He certainly updated the production" or "He's got a demographic, why are you complaining?", but it doesn't seem like the core gameplay has evolved at all in an upwards direction, and that's really fucking boring for a game with a plot that people overexaggerate like it's not as deep as a box of tissue paper.
Bring on the boxes, but every single positive thing that's being said about this has been said about the previous mediocre titles. Scott has a lot of potential, but also a horrible habit of bending over backwards for people that will eat any shit they find on the floor.

The core gameplay isn't even the same as the other games unless you [sp]find the Secret Room on Night 5[/sp], it's a different series of events each night.
doesnt look as disturbing as scott said it would be
doesnt look as disturbing as scott said it would be
Well, [sp]the bad ending has you get your innards scooped out off-screen before showing an animatronic wearing your skin, and the fifth night starts off the 'routine check' with showing the silhouettes of two dead people instead, the first human bodies that aren't in an animatronic or 8-bit form. The entire story implies that the Animatronics are basically sentient or at least independent to some degree and essentially contained and tortured into compliance, thus their willingness to kill you and make a suit out of you to try to escape. And people think the serial murderer of the previous games is the guy that made them.[/sp]
since.. always? that's one of the things he's always been known for is his voice
Actually his voice was developed from all the terrified yelling he did while playing Frictional Games titles when he first started out. Go back to his first lets play of penumbra and his voice is nothing like it is today.
"Thank you for choosing:[sp]Angsty Teen.[/sp]"
Scott's sense of humor never ceases to amaze me.
With the cringe commentary and emo-cringe 2005 haircut & color, I'll wait for different lets plays. However, muting it and watching the gameplay, this looked pretty interesting. I wouldn't personally buy it, but good on the franchise for becoming something more than jumpy scare.
Markiplier is probably the least annoying Let's Player
Sure he makes weird faces but he isn't to Razzwhatever levels

[sp]It is also implied you are playing as the Murderer pre-murder spree, and in fact he had a daughter, and did not let her go near any of the animatronics because he programmed to kill the kids if they were alone. The daughter somehow got near Baby, and she unwillingly lured the daughter to be trapped inside Baby, killing her. And that Purple guy in the previous games was really Ennard.[/sp]

He does it also because it's fun for him, and it attracts the kind of people he likes. I say good on him, really.
I've been subbed to him for a while, the last 5 or so videos i've watched me and my girlfriend have just had to close them cause he's just so annoying to watch, like more than usual which i can put up with but, wow
I used to adore him when he was all real, but now he does these random faces & noises for filler, and wastes his great voice to yelling everything he says.

Not much in terms of progress, start at 10:25.
Honestly the one thing that really putts me off about Mark's videos is his constant overreaction to everything that could be construed as scary. It's like the "try not to laugh" challenge videos where the person "attempting" the challenge goes out of their way to laugh and make an absurd and exaggerated reaction to things that would only make someone so much as chuckle normally. It's really offputting especially knowing that he's doing it to appeal to the younger part of his viewers that find memes really funny for some reason. It's really clever and ingenious, in a way, but it's still disappointing because there are so many videos where he doesn't stretch for a reaction and he makes his commentary natural but he doesn't do it with most of his popular videos and it's honestly really sad.
I honesty thought the "cancerous" side of the FNAF fandom moved on other games like Undertale
Sorta like what happened to MLP to Steven Universe
Last time I heard Scott is actually really passionate about making games that are good. It's just that he's pressured by the absolutely awful fanbase to shit them out as much as possible.
Not really pressured by them as much as personally hyped about releasing them. He's admitted himself that he gets too excited and often ignores several crucial steps of QA such as balancing and tweaking minor aspects.

when has the fnaf fanbase not been mostly awful?
maybe when it was on greenlight but the moment markiplier and the like played it the fanbase was pretty much doomed to be made up of mostly LPers and their fans
[sp]and furries but that's another can of worms[/sp]
I wish Scott would go and make another 'The Desolate Hope'-ish kind of thing. I've never played it but just look at some of this crazy shit:

The dude is definitely talented.
is sister location still in fucking clickteam fusion 2.5?
because nevermind what people say about the things he could do if he moved to a different engine, this shit's fucking impressive for clickteam fusion

I'm not a fan of these games really (though I don't dislike them, and I think the first was a fun novelty), but it's a shame that people always say that he's just recycling the same game out over and over.
I mean if you look at them all, he genuinely tries some new things with each of them. I gotta respect that.

This one especially. It's not directly tied to the plot of the other games in a usual sense (mostly using Foxy and Freddy out of novelty more than anything else) and the gameplay switches up every night shift. Only the [sp]Private Room[/sp] keeps any major tradition.

This isn't dumb, I used to watch him and I completely agree. Why the face for 20 seconds when nothing is happening? I get that it was his initial reaction to the room, but it just wasn't funny the first time.
