Not this fucking guy.
And to the people saying "I'd just be humored and go on my way", I'd feel deeply uncomfortable with some random weirdo who just stands there silently recording me, you have no idea what they want to do with that footage.

well it's tough shit anit it, that's the point. How come you're so special that you're not allowed to be video recorded? Why is he a weirdo? If anything it makes me more suspicious of you than him.

How is he not a fucking weirdo? He goes and stands next to complete strangers and doesn't utter a word, whilst recording them... That isn't normal at all. For all we know, he could be going home and adding it to his weird voyeur collection. I mean, the douchebag doesn't even politely reply or let them know what he's doing. Things would go much better if he at least communicated. It's like those assholes who bait the cops at DUI checks and refuse to reply or give a solid answer, it just escalates situations.
His analogy of "But you have CCTV recording you!!!" doesn't really work out, since the guys watching CCTV aren't going to go and upload it on YouTube or whatever (plus, it's also for your own safety, if they spot a robbery happening, they can dispatch police to your location).
I mean, if someone came up to me and politely asked if they could record me for a project or something, I'd take it a lot better than if they just came up to my face and pointed a camera straight at me whilst not saying a single thing. How can you not cringe at how awkward it is?
[editline]4th April 2014[/editline]
It was really uncomfortable when he went and recorded those people on their date. Literally the only reason this dick wakes up in the morning is to go and try and prove his redundant point of "but big brother is watching you, why are you comfortable with that but not me?", all whilst trying to bait random members of public into getting angry.
well it's tough shit anit it, that's the point. How come you're so special that you're not allowed to be video recorded? Why is he a weirdo? If anything it makes me more suspicious of you than him.
Not wanting a stranger to stand infront of you with their camera in your face who's not answering when you ask him what he's doing/why he's recording you is suspicious nowadays?
Holy shit it's a fucking camera! How could he, that god damn bastard! Better smash the camera or his face!
Guy's worse than a fucking terrorist, man.
Honestly, if I saw that guy, I'd just ignore him. Chances are there were tons of people who did just that and didn't appear in the video. The guy's looking for reactions to prove a point - but the people who react are reacting because they think he's gonna do something with the footage, which he does, by putting it into a video - and people who don't react don't end up in the video :v:
who cares what he looks like
it's someone with a camera, he's trying to prove a point, that there are cameras all around watching people
yet when one is poked closely to them, they get bothered by it. I'm sure he films some people that don't care, but keeps the ones that get upset as fuck
lolno
The purpose of CCTV is purely security reasons, private businesses and public spots owned by the Government use CCTV in the event of a crime or some misconduct that happens
This cunt walks around all high and mighty with a camera thinking he can video tape random people going about their day and then use the stupid "but cameras are watching you!!" argument
The guy's a creep and a fuckwit, these videos are retarded and serve no purpose, get the tinfoil off your head mate
That old man with the big white beard that kept staring at the camera with pity was the best.

Writing a whole paragraph on the topic makes me even more suspicious of him. He also thinks everyone is a voyeur, probably a voyeur himself, that's why he's getting so worked up about it.
ITT: people who agree to assault and damage someones property because they're being legally filmed in public
Writing a whole paragraph on the topic makes me even more suspicious of him. He also thinks everyone is a voyeur, probably a voyeur himself, that's why he's getting so worked up about it.
You're fond of blanket statements. You claim I think everyone is a voyeur, then you again claim that I'm a voyeur?
I'm getting worked up over how immature the guy is. Knowing he's doing what he's doing just to provoke people, hence why he only uploads the angry responses.
Kid wakes up every day looking forward to stirring up shit for no reason other than to prove his fantastic little point.
that damn "cameras everywhere already watching you!" bullshit. the difference is that a surveillance camera isn't in your damn face nor are you at the center of its view. nor is there a fucking person directly behind it looking you in the eyes.
i get that the ones getting mad are overreacting and that's the whole point of the video, but please stop with that pretentious bullshit.
Tell that to the webcam tapping program

Is he hurting anyone? No? Then why get so worked up over nothing?
I love this guy.
Is he hurting anyone? No? Then why get so worked up over nothing?
BUT HE MIGHT DO SOMETHING WITH THE FOOTAGE! :O
Like what I ask? It's not private footage of you in your own private home. This is public footage of you out in the open, what can he do with the footage that could affect you? At this point, the only thing that can be said is "I just don't like it, it's creepy!" Well, suck it up. It's legal.
Is he hurting anyone? No? Then why get so worked up over nothing?
am i hurting anyone by flashing them?
am i hurting anyone by flashing them?
No, but it's illegal. Indecent exposure.
I'm not questioning the legality of it. I'm questioning the morality of it. Just cause something is legal, doesn't mean it's not a dick move.
You're pretty set in your views, I think it's shitty of the guy, but good on you for supporting his actions. I've got no problem with people recording me in public, but if someone approached it the way he did, I couldn't help but get annoyed by it. There's loads of ways to do something, he picks the douchiest way to do it. My problem is with the guy, not the action.
No, but it's illegal. Indecent exposure.
Wait so all that matters to you is whether it's legal or not? Just because you can doesn't mean you should
We can watch this video, and know he's not going to do anything, he's just harmlessly filming them. They don't know that.
He's just some creepy fuck standing there recording them, not answering them. For all they know he's stalking them.
I'm a pretty down to earth guy, but if someone was doing this to me I wouldn't just take it as a joke, it's fucking weird.
Wait so all that matters to you is whether it's legal or not? Just because you can doesn't mean you should
That's a pretty poor argument. If people shouldn't be able to record others in public, then it would be illegal.
Wait so all that matters to you is whether it's legal or not? Just because you can doesn't mean you should
What he's saying is that this is legal and not hurting anyone, while flashing someone is illegal and not hurting anyone, it's not a valid comparison.
Wait so all that matters to you is whether it's legal or not? Just because you can doesn't mean you should
isn't he proving a point by doing all these recordings?
That's a pretty poor argument. If people shouldn't be able to record others in public, then it would be illegal.
If the police were called on this guy then there's a good chance he could be arrested for harassment.
And despite that, the law is there to keep society functioning, not to stop people from being assholes. It's not a question about whether you are able to to something, there's a personal moral responsibility to understand whether or not you should do something.
isn't he proving a point by doing all these recordings?
Who to? The people he's recording are just getting creeped out and his main audience is just watching to laugh at reactions.
If he's trying to prove something why doesn't he elaborate on it?
isn't he proving a point by doing all these recordings?
Not really, he's just found a way to irritate people with next to no effort or talent.
If the guy wants to pretend that this is a social experiment then an important aspect he needs to consider is the ethical treatment of the subject. If he eventually puts the camera down and tells people that he means to upload them to the internet and gets their permission then it would be considered ethical, I'm pretty sure he doesn't though.
The video would've been at least a little interesting if he did more ballsy stuff like going into the fast food place, instead of singling out people and annoying them.
chut up nerds it's funny
There has been an influx of idiots on Facepunch lately. Do some people here really claim they won't be bothered by a man following you and filming you up close and personal? You have got to be kidding me.
Looks like you were part of that influx. I honestly wouldnt mind if someone was filming me in public because guess fucking what, I'm in public!! Why would one of the cameras being close to me make a difference

I wouldn't want a silent man walking up to my children and I while filming them, and can respect the woman's outburst on that part, although that's only one situation.
edit: As an enthusiast of photography, I feel like the key to making sure that situations like this don't go down the path that they do is to assert that whilst his concerns are understood, if it is public property, he has the right to film or photograph them, except in certain states (Delaware being one example I can name off the tip of my tongue, the rest of the list here: http://www.photographybay.com/photography-laws/ )
Instigation is a scummy thing to do and I don't find much humor in these types of videos because that's entirely what this guy bases his videos around.
Most people are taught about personal space before they can read and you can't see why shoving a camera in a strangers face is considered bad etiquette?

Are you seriously considering etiquette in this public disturbance youtube channel? Get a grip man.
