When you have a group of people constantly making moronic statements like r/atheism, people are going to call them out for it.
uhh isn't that precisely what they are doing, just on the side you happen to disagree with?
uhh isn't that precisely what they are doing, just on the side you happen to disagree with?
Not at all, unless you consider one's beliefs to be moronic. Here's the main difference: Average religious board: Generally discuss religious things. r/atheism: Bashes those with religious beliefs. Now if a religious group starts bashing atheists (or any group), they're being just as dumb as r/atheism.
Not at all, unless you consider one's beliefs to be moronic.
Uhh yeah, we do.
Uhh yeah, we do.
So you're intolerant and basically the reason r/atheism is considered shit. I also missed this post:
Luke 19:27. The Jesus you have conjured up in your own head and the Jesus that's actually in the Bible are two wildly different characters. He wasn't this lamb of God pacifist that the dogma makes him out to be. He contradicts himself constantly, and he's equal parts Ghandi and Hitler. Most Christians just tend to ignore or rationalize the "kill them in front of me" parts, despite the fact that Jesus also wasn't too kind about people trying to 'interpret' the shit he said as anything but literal. Fact is, Christ preached a heavy dose of 'conversion at the end of a sword' kind of messages, what with the whole "sell your cloak and buy a sword" thing there at the end. Actually following Biblical example leads to people like the Westboro Baptist Church. Say what you want about them, they actually know the scripture and don't just pretend it contains no vitriol. Of course, they don't follow it to the letter because serving the scripture suddenly doesn't seem so important when it means going to bum-fuck prison.
Luke 19:27 is a parable of a king and his servants told by Jesus. The king's words as told by Jesus, "Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them before me." It's clear from all other parable's Jesus told that verse 27 is referring to the fate of man if he does not believe in Jesus as their savior. Or in other words, "hell". Matthew 13 is a great example of this, and an especially great example of things Jesus said that were not meant to be taken literally, as explained by Jesus himself. Now if that's not enough, the same parable is told in Matthew 25. The equivalent verse to Luke 19:27 is Matthew 25:30. Clearly a reference to the fate of man who does not believe and not a bloodthirsty Jesus. Also, the sell your cloak buy a sword was Jesus telling his disciples to get swords for self defense for when the officers came to arrest him for claiming to be the savior, just before his crucifixion. Luke 22:36-38. Everything in your post has been twisted to meet your agenda. You should stop that.
