Video's still going strong I see. I'm just about parallel to where you are, so it's fun to see how you handle things I already went past (in the first part at the lab for example, I just stacked crates to get out, didn't even know there was a special ramp for it). Once you get to know how the monsters work, it's easy to know what to do. They usually disappear into thin air after a while (I love how they forget you when being chased and hide behind a door's frame, and I get slaughtered when I try that). [sp]I just got past a point where I had to play chicken with the new enemy type in this area in order to continue.[/sp]
Lol, broke down the door and walked away.
Thanks to these videos I can experience Amnesia: The Dark Descent without needing to change my underwear. For that I salute you, Hamst3r.
-snip- Wrong thread, sorry. Good let's play's though, your voice is awesome.
new enemy type
Fuck man I wouldn't even know if the enemies start looking different. As soon as I see the slightest glimpse of one I turn and run. Only been killed once so far.
Do we have an approximate ETA on part 6 yet?
Do we have an approximate ETA on part 6 yet?
Within the hour. It's at 94% in the uploader and usually processed for 10 or 20 minutes after that. edit: Alright...it's taking forever to process. :| *unamused*
Cool, I'll be sure to watch it soon then.
Part sizzle - in the hizzle.
Have you forgotten that you can rotate objects while holding them?
Well that thing towards the end of the video sounded rather creepy... Sounded like a possessed giant baby or something.

If you liked that, you're gonna love the next part. [sp]Oh, and in the sewer area there is a room where you can find the 'old' bad guy in one of the rooms. You know, the one they spammed in the dungeon. It's split in two and you can toss it around.[/sp] :v:

Luckily I've got a poor memory and the game is built good enough that it won't really matter that I already know all this. How many different enemies are actually in this game? I only know of three specific ones so far. The brute, the zombie thing that you first encounter, and the water thingy.

Edit: I see you're still using the drag-n-drop method for refilling oil. You can double click the oil to refill it faster.
Me and my friend laughed so hard when you tried to get the pipe through the door.
Hamst3r is awesome
Where is part 7 boi!?
Where is part 7 boi!?
It's uploading. It's at least 3 hours away. I'm guessing 10 PM (22:00) PST. edit: Then it processes. Last night that took an hour. The time before that it only took 20 minutes, so who knows really.
I assume you use fraps, is there a way to change the recording format?
Bam, there it is: PART 7 - September 14th
I assume you use fraps, is there a way to change the recording format?
Fraps only records in avi. After editing I export to wmv as those have worked the best in my tests.
This must seem like a really stupid question, but I never see you save. The game does let you save, right? How often, if it lets you, do you save?
It autosaves every time you go through an area transition door and you can save when exiting. Edit: HD coming a bit later?
This must seem like a really stupid question, but I never see you save. The game does let you save, right? There are also cylinders in some places that save your progress when touched - these cylinders were also in Penumbra. Lastly, it also saves when you exit. I try to not think about when it last saved as the save system seems to work just fine. It's not absolute shit like in so many games with checkpoints.
HD coming a bit later?
Yup. It's automatic. Give it 20 minutes.
Fraps only records in avi. After editing I export to wmv as those have worked the best in my tests.
I've been using AVC MKV's out of MeGUI for years now. And I get surprisingly good transcode quality on YT. Especially in dark lighting.
Well, it seems like you might be approaching the end finally.
Innocent room? light goes out. Ohhh no fuck that room.. that doors staying closed.Naww that's so cute you hear something and try to hide under the desk," monsters know how to play the piano now"
Figuring that out as I go. I'm sure there's more. And I'm counting to find dogs later on, too.
Here's the answer: [sp]Nop...[/sp]
Usually I hate voiced over playthroughs, since they tend to ruin the atmosphere - I'm not going to deny you do it sometimes OP but you take the edge off the game, in a good way :D Agree very nice voice. On video 4 right now, totally glued.
You sound like Jack Black! Awesome playthrough, man!
Part 8!
