I saw the Ultor building I think.
as awesome as that it is(it really)
I'm still upset we won't ever see a conclusion to the SR1 and SR2 games
I had a dream about this exact game happening right after beating Saints Row 4. The saints died, went to hell, and killed Satan.
It's a dream come true.
Saint's Row 4 has too many problems to list in one post, but I'll explain a lot of my issues with it.
First off, the story is just awful. At least SR3 was still a crime game, SR4 went completely off the rails. It's barely even Saint's Row anymore. Aliens, lasers, simulations, time travel, it all felt really thrown in and badly thought out.
The fact that the game took place nearly entirely in a simulation made nothing feel "definite" - There was rarely a point in the game where I actually felt like I had done anything.
The humor seems like it was a mishmash of random pop culture references and dated jokes - The "Romance" thing was particularly bizarre, since by the time that SR4 had came out, Mass Effect 3 was already a year old. Along with other things like the Dubstep gun that just made no sense to exist other then to be a cheap joke.
The characters felt heavily flanderized - Gat was a psychopath, but he wasn't as constantly crazy as he was. Kinzie was more "Squeaky", I guess? She was certainly more annoying then she was in the first game, where she was more of a "Crazy cute recluse girl". Plus, it felt like they made her more agoraphobic then she was in SR3. If I had played the game more recently then I would be able to provide more examples of how I feel about the characters.
Not part of my argument, but I ended up making my character Duke Nukem, and it felt more fitting and made me enjoy the game more then if I played it like a Saint's Row game. :v:
I see what you're saying. Saints Row would've never survived and be as successful as it is if it hadn't of completely changed styles though. In order to compete with GTA they had to change their appeal from a gangster free roaming sandbox to an arcade, random shit sandbox lol
saints row 4 is one of my favorite games of all time because it's hilarious and eliminates most of the problems and peeves i have with open world games
i'll give this expansion a shot if my pc will run it
It's to bad, the direction saints row went into is the complete opposite of what I prefer. Oh well...

I love the game's direction. It stopped being a knockoff of Grand Theft Auto and really evolved into its own unique style.
I honestly don't know why people praise Saints Row 1's story. Saints Row 2 I understand because the characters were at their prime and it was just an enjoyable pretty well written mix of a gang war story, a revenge plot, and goofiness. SR1 pretty much was just a generic gang war story that played by the books and most of the characters were pretty forgettable.

Plus it was still just a straight up GTA clone then
Can I just say that I'm so fucking tired of the Gat cocksucking ?
I'll just quote myself from the other SR4 thread I posted in:
Saints Row's entire purpose is to be super over the top and highly controversial, you're not supposed to play for the story you're supposed to play to blow shit up, finish the objectives, get more unlocks and build the boss into the character you want him or her to be

Correction, Saints Row post Saints Row 2 is that.
I really hope they put in really grotesque finishers.
And a lot of them so you don't see the same one 10 times in a row.

Right, but see generally people consider Saints Row 2 and onwards (SR3 is probably the weakest of the 3 but it was still solid) to be good games.
Saints Row 1 was a boring forgettable GTA clone that didn't need to exist.
My favorite part about the Saint's Row series is watching people bitch about the later games.
Good thing I'm not uptight enough to not love them all.

Post Saints Row 2 means after Saints Row 2, so 3 and afterwards.
2 had a pretty good plot.
SR2 was still a very silly game, not SR3 onwards silly but it definitely was the first step.
They knew they couldn't compete with GTA, so they needed to go nuts with it, and it worked amazingly.
Interesting. This could be SR4's Blood Dragon.
just noticed how the barrels aren't spinning
Apparently we're getting weapons based on the 7 sins, and this one represents sloth. For me that makes me feel like the non-spinning barrels are on purpose, because the animators were too lazy to even have those move. If not, then that's a shame on both ends, cause not only would they have lazy animations they wouldn't even reference it.
Overall though, I'm very excited for this, because not only do I love saints row, I got with my gf because of sr4 (I bought her a preorder when we were just friends, it became more than that) and it's yet another game we can play together.

if SR went in the other direction, it would forever be in GTA's shadow
Hopefully they've designed some kind of new map, although from the looks of it they haven't. At least some places to explore, I guess.
'Gat' means the anus of a fish or bird in Danish

It's also slang for gun

It was, but it still had a good plot, unlike SR3 and onwards.

Playing Saints Row for the plot is like watching a porn movie for its story.
The Saints Row series are in generally pretty funny. I still think SR2 is the funniest out of the bunch, because they're all just wacky people who do weird shit in a serious world. While in SR3 and 4, everyone's just completely insane.
Saints Row 4 was like a celebration of the series and a great finale which is why I'm a little disappointed this is a thing, I was happy with where it left off because it remembered it's roots.
I hope they revisit a bunch of shit from past saints row games again, that was the best part about four.

Considering all the people they've killed on their way to the top and how many of them would probably end up in hell, most of the game will probably consist of that sort of stuff.
The slightest hope i have is to see Steelwater again, but then again, i'm being too optimistic.

It's called Stilwater...
...and it's with one 'L', bitch.
