yea i know it's nowhere as good as QUEEN and THE BEATLES (thumbs up if u're a '90s kid and u get this reference) (modern pop music sux)
tbh as venezuelan said, this is as dumb of a post as t-sonars
yea i know it's nowhere as good as QUEEN and THE BEATLES (thumbs up if u're a '90s kid and u get this reference) (modern pop music sux)
They're classics. They're really good. Modern music that stands the test of time will become classics as well, that's how it works. No, not all pop music sucks, there's stuff that'll fade away in a few years and stuff that'll last a long time.
Why are people discussing what counts as music? Does it really matter? I mean if you like the sound of something then it's good enough, right? [editline]a[/editline] While I'm here I may as well say I liked this the first time listening to it.
your reasons are garbage also the fact that chesty called you an idiot does nothing to make his argument invalid
It doesn't validate it either.
Literally all of the complaints you are making are subjective. It's apparent that you have no understanding of hip-hop or sampling.
How is understanding of hip-hop relevant to thinking that the "NUHUHUH HONEY"s are out of place? Or that the transitions sound like jump cuts done at a wrong time? And is it really subjective that the transition is just a cut? And don't get me wrong I'm not arguing that you have to hate it if it's done that way. You don't have to share my opinion. Go ahead and like random noises if you want. I'm in no position to tell you what to like. Hell, there's great quality music that I don't like and complete shit music that I like. I'm just saying that I think that this particular music is lazy work and sometimes it feels like things were thrown in there without even checking if they work together. Hence calling it "music".
you cant make any sort of retort without searching wikipedia for fallacies can you? it's pathetic. how do you even function in the real world
You can't make any sort of retort without personal attacks or making it look like the other guy said something that he never really did, can you? You can't make any sort of retort that would actually retort to what the guy actually said, can you? It's pathetic. How do you even function in the real world?
i can't explain why you're wrong about not liking the piece of music because it's a piece of music and no one has the right to claim anything like that. you mong
So I'm a close minded mong for having a subjective opinion about a piece of music, is that what you're saying? Very open minded of you.
Because there are different styles with Hip Hop, offbeat focuses on lyricism more than beats.
pretty much irrelevant. the words in the song =/= quality of the song, it's all about the way they're said, the listeners' interpretations, the rythm, the way they flow, etc. you can't dismiss a song because of the lyrics, i mean like, here's the lyrics to a song from one of facepunch's favorite artists crap song, am i right? nah.
You can't compare rap to house/trance music. They're two entirely different genres. One is lyric heavy and the other is more beat/rhythm heavy.
You can't compare rap to house/trance music. They're two entirely different genres. One is lyric heavy and the other is more beat/rhythm heavy.
Poor choice of words really, Hip Hop as a genre is still beat and rhythm centric.
Poor choice of words really, Hip Hop as a genre is still beat and rhythm centric.
I didn't say it wasn't, but what makes rap/hip hop what it is is... well rapping.
I didn't say it wasn't, but what makes rap/hip hop what is is are... well rapping.
Not necessarily, a good beat can turn the wackest lyrics into hot fire (look at Lil B and RiFF RAFF).

Kanye had one good song in my opinion.
That transition was horrible..
I wanted to take white trash t-shirts and make it a video. I wanted to make it as phony as possible. I wanted to show you that this is the type of imagery that has been presented to us for years, and the only difference is a black man in the middle.
From the man himself, no word on why Kim was there but it's interesting regardless
From the man himself, no word on why Kim was there but it's interesting regardless
well he wanted to have a white-trashy video, and having a hot girl for no reason is kind of a white trash thing to do, i guess?
Its pretty upsetting that there has to be a 5 page argument on whether this is good or not This "song" is fucking atrocious, it is literally just noise, I don't shit on people for liking music different to my tastes but I honestly think this doesn't even classify as music

There's genres of music out there that are literally accomplished by creating as much harsh noise as possible and maybe recording some vocals that are intentionally fucked with heavy in editing. And I don't mean " really harsh guitars that are loud" I'm talking actually slamming a microphone into a lathe and recording the sound it makes kind of stuff. I'm pretty sure there was a FacePuncher who made this kind of stuff. He posted a video of himself playing live, it was just him standing in front of a table and drilling holes in it with a power drill. There might've been some background noise too and every so often he'd scream his fedora off into the microphone. This was the song But was it still music? Yeah sure.

There's a very clear rhythm, there's vocals with lyrics, there's melodies, chord progression, etc. It's not even close to "literally just noise", just compare it to actual noise music like Merzbow:

You're claiming that you don't shit on people for their tastes but you're shitting on the song for being different than you expected (and quite a few genres and sub genres at the same time), it's the height of hypocrisy really.
All I'm gonna say is people can listen to whatever they want to. Just don't try and tell me this is a good Rap song, because it's fundamentally bad as a Rap song.
